Nice report Joao but this time i did no "other" strategy. It was only possible to pit in lap 21 or 22 for a 1 stop strategy.
We all go in (You, me and Peter) and i had about 2 sec gap to Peter before the stop, i change all tyres and could increase the gap in the first rounds after pit to Peter with new tyres.
But i think i was to agressive because in the end i couldn´t go the speed of you, only 20 high or 21´s - also a little mistake in turn 2 cost me time and so i was lucky as i could go with 1 sec to Peter in last lap which was enought to keep P3 with a clean lap...

Ok, as very quikely after the pit's I saw you were 7 seconds in front of me... I've to say that one good thing about the setup of these cars (the xtream class) is that one can do a setup that peaks early in the stint (heavy fuel). My car peak performance (balance of car weight and tyre wear) came about mid way in the stint.

I also see from race analysis that you did manage to do a few laps in the mid 19's, the same a few of us did in "our" private on-line practice servers but were never able to reproduce in the event (in the second stint, my fastest, I did consistent very high 19's and very low 20's).

actually João.....it is what do you choose for your pit and how quickly you can get in and get out of pit that makes you gain or loose time during pitstop

for example for my pit strategy of yesterdays race, I decided to drive with full fuel and enter if not mistaken around lap 23 (I still had 6 liters in the tank), so I decided to only fuel 55 liters extra instead of 60 or 70 liters. That is around 10 liters less that I have to use for a full tank which translates to around 1 or 2 second less in the pit. I also entered the pit as fast and tight as I can to gain time...
And with that I decided at some points on the track during the entire second stint, to short shift and see if I can still save some fuel just in case I don't make it.
(I finished with around 5 liters left in the tank)
with my strategy I won 1 position in the pit and came pretty close behind P6 Abdul which I challenged the whole second stint :)

now for the next round is another strategy that I still don't know which will play better...it might come down to the same as Estoril, but then again Estoril was a tire eater track and don't know if Istanbul is.
that we will see :)

i lost 6-7sec in pit and i dint do a mistake .. i blame my pit crew ... it the first time i did lost so much .. i went 65+65 ..
my pit time+ lap 2.17.400 normaly was supose to be around 2.09-10

EDIT; johan was 12 sec behind me before pit ,,, then after pit he was 6 sec Oo

We all did that up front I guess :wink2: (The 70l/60l plus the quick in/exit)

Andreas really did very quick laps immediately after the pit-stop... regarding Istanbul, it should be a right side tyres "eater" :)

well then....i guess the only explenation for my time gaining during the pit is where me & my crew has learned to do pitstop @ the best place for a touring car crew to learn to do pistops :)
only place where to change 4 tires and 20 gallons of fuel (old school style) in under 14 sec

I hope to do well in Istanbul :)

GMT mix up

Team: Team Maypole
Team Owner: Terry Harmer
Driver: Wido Rossen
Round: Round 5 - Brands Hatch 150

GMT mix up caused Wido to try to join too late and sadly missed this event.
As team manager I should have made sure he knew.
Sorry to all.

Terry

i really dunno lol as i check my lap before pit even after pit all good no mistake so idk i remember it toke 36.7 sec to change 4 tyres +65 l Oo

One thing that can justify that (but it is only a possibility) is the call to pit glitch where the AI will auto-call pit-stop by itself. This function can be a "pain", as it will cancel our "real" pit-call (made by us) and if one is not looking at it to recall the pit-stop; we will "pay" 6 to 10 second more in the pits. For instances the AI can cancel our pit-request when we are already reaching the pit limiter zone... :(

To have an idea, this last race, the AI auto called pit-stop for me by lap 19, I ignored it and the call eventually went away. Later I pitted by myself lap 21. Lap 22 AI auto-called a pit-stop by itself again, this time not wanting the damn signal for 1 or 2 laps on my screen I canceled it myself.

Yes I use the pit-menu on everything regarding pits, no I don't use auto-pits :wink2:

...and yes, obviously this one of the areas where the all Race series was a clear step back from GTR2. :(

I think it is connected to how the AI perceives fuel consumption in a given track (wrongly most of the times... see how the bots go about their fuel :)), a possibility of a mix-up when playing on-line and someone else (human) calling a pit-stop with the pit stop signal being given to us too (guys sharing pits?).

This was a rather embarassing race for me for a number of reasons.
1. I couldn't break 1:23.xxx
2. I qualified 2nd last
3. The formation lap was ruined for me again by people being irresponsible
4. I blew my own engine up!! Trying too hard to keep up with the field I raised engine rpm and reduced radiator...never again!

Lack of practice because of decoration and not having all my equipment set up was a problem for me this week, if my tam captain allows it...hopefully I can be more competitive next race!!

well your team captain qualified 2nd last in last race, so don't worry!

Although we will of course have to discuss team promotions and demotions before next season. So good luck scoring a ton of points for us next race! :p I'd like another P6 please. J/k of course.

reg. formation laps: i think there has been issues with every single race so far. Let's go back to standing starts for next season. Especially if there's going to be a mixed FWD/RWD grid.
