Long story short, I was struggling with massive understeer towards the end of the race and my front left tire finally blew out in the braking zone for the tight chicane on the back straight, leaving a trail of sparks as I slid straight off into the barrier with just over 2 minutes left on the clock. Doh! I tried to get going again, but the engine was dead. Was running 9th at the time, so overall for my first ever rFactor race I think I did alright. Hopefully I'll finish the next one. lol

Congrats to Florian and the podium for an excellent race.

yea, I noticed that coming through, I undrstand the restart, what an earth the Camaro was doing there for the whole race, deary dear, so unfair, I braked to stop and some guy hit the back of me, dont know if he continued. Need to see the replay to know exactly what happened. But was a shambles, I agree with you on that one

(For Dan)
Because the start was a total mess and not only warranted a restart, but a serious enquiry as to what the hell was going on there...

I checked the replay and the car "RD" was parked there on last grid position when we came around for the flying start....... destroyed my race totally since i was involved in that pilup and went from 8'th to last

Qualified in 8'th position after finally getting a clean lap in...
Race start was a mess with that shunt.... who is "RD" and why do we let ppl in without real names ??

After the mess i was last (or close to last)

Fought my way back up the field and at the same time tried to save the tires.
A had some great fights along the way but also managed to bump some racing friends (sry Neil and Lee), waited to let the rejoin but its all my fault so i take any punishment coming.

Fun racing... but i hope we have clean starts for the rest of the races

Finished in a 16 spot

Thanks all racers, grats to the podium, and great event

Enjoyed the race. Qualied 23rd or there abouts and made up a few places due to others' misfortune and ended up 11th.

Never put a (real) pass on anyone except lap 22 or 23 into T1 on Ihab - not sure what happened there, I was a bit back next moment had to brake hard to avoid, swerve to the apex and i was by him without touching (i think). I dunno if I was at fault for missing braking point, but i just let off the gas and let him pass me again.

Thx RD admins and everone else for the race!

It appears I may have buggered it up a bit! Instead of going full screen I appear to have clicked Drive and not realised and thus left the broadcast car on the grid and I didn't realise until about lap 4. I'm very sorry for the trouble caused, I actually thought it was just a general pile up at the start otherwise I'd have flagged it up myself.

Aside from that, it was an excellent race to watch and commentate on and the broadcast will be available shortly.

I enjoyed the race. I wasn't able to practice in the past week for as much as I hoped for, so I was still trying to come up with a decent setup during the practice and qualifying sessions. Qualified 2nd to last. Gained a few positions after the start but lost those again to the faster drivers... in the end I was running 20th I think and because of some people miscalculating their fuel I gained two positions in the last lap, ending in p18.
Still I am satisfied I finished the race in one piece without mistakes, especially as my tyres where hopeless for the last 6 or so laps...

Great driving by all! Big thanks to RD and the organizers!

Q: I was a little disappointed that my time was only good enough for 6th, I was hoping to be in the top three. None-the-less 6th wasn't bad.

R: Narrowly avoided the parked broadcast car at the start, those immediately behind me weren't so lucky. Technically I overtook Kjell before the start line but given the circumstances with the RD car I don't think I did anything wrong. I was going to give you back the position on the back straight but you disappeared from my mirrors after turn 1.

After that I was in 5th. And I that's where I stayed for the rest of the race. Couldn't keep up with the top 4, and comfortably escaped from the rest. A very lonely race for me, but I'm very happy with the result.

Thanks to Remco, Ivo, Simon Smith, and RD for running the event.

this race should have been restarted!!

Right! Letting the race running with such thing happened extremely unfair against those who where involved! Even after some laps some of the stuff should have recognized the RD car...

I really hope that this race does not count! That's the only possibility now.

Q: Could not get the time I was able to out of me and the car. P7 was not what I thought about.
R: Involved in this start crash ^^. Again send to into a spin later by someone giving me a nudge right under braking for the chicane on the back straight. 12th in the end, despite a "nicely" damaged car...^^. My race speed would have been good enough for a top 5 position without the crash and the damage. Again, a season opener to completely forget about. :frown:

This was just an unfortunate mistake, it happens, but Remco n Ivo worked really hard on this and I personaly thought it was damn good! The cars are tricky but fun, the tire managment is a great aspect, everyone drove well from my cockpit at least and I had some awesome battles! :)

Bring on Watkins Glen........Cant wait :)

Always count to ten when something happens. You know that.

Race should have been restarted after what i all read here. But Remco and i also didnt knew what happened. I went through some smoke thats it and saw no chat so didnt know what was going on. 3 laps later i again came across the car standing still. And selected the name tag what was going on and i saw it was the RD car.
