DIACONESCU ON VERGE OF GLORY
McLAREN WIN CONSTRUCTORS
1st. Florin Diaconescu
2nd. James Chant
3rd. Omer Said
The glamour of Abu Dhabi was on show for the penultimate round of the Forum Racing season, a race that brought another twist to the championship battle.
If there ever was a racer this season that got results when he needed them, it's Florin Diaconescu. Taking the lead from the first corner with a flourish from Omer Said, Diaconescu put in a truly commanding race, taking the full 25 points and control of the championship with a single race to go. Heineken's worst nightmare was realised as Alexander Macdonald couldn't keep the pace, taking 6th, James Chant taking second was a small consolation, but they will be forgiven for feeling down. Macdonald on the ropes, needing an almighty race in Belgium, while McLaren have already sealed the constructors.
The aforementioned Said drove a well adjusted race, taking the spoils of the final podium spot, ahead of Sig Man, who happily radioed in asking if the Constructors was sealed. Jimmy Laad looks set for 10th overall with 5th, Herbert bombed out of contention for the championship in 11th, and Jordan will look to take third in a last gasp effort.
Without further delay, here is a full summary of what can happen in Belgium, in-depth for contenders:

Commentary
So, we have 3 big fights really. Firstly, obviously, the main battle between Diaconescu, Macdonald and Sig. Sig really must hope for a miracle, but in reality his title defence is over, a win plus pole will see a loss on countback at best if Florin finishes. Of the top 2, Florin is in the box seat. 3rd will secure the title, though beating Alexander will also finish it. Look out for the Heineken racer, if he qualifies well, he may be on for it.
Behind them, 4th place rages between Herbert, Chant, Utzer and Wolf. Herbert leads this group, but his current form compared to that of Chant dictates that he will lose 4th place. Utzer is a chance, but this season he scored more points in sprints rather than features. Wolf is really just a bit too far behind, 4th well out of reach but is looking for a good result, possibly to take Utzer.
Lastly, the massive battle for 10th is set to explode. Without doubt, Laad has this under control, his 9 point buffer should hold out. Jednak can take him, but should be more worried about Owen beating him, something that will most likely end in 12th for the Ferrari driver. Poirer had a great run of podiums, but will need a miracle to catch those in front. Hackel has a mathematical chance, though reality will argue that 13th will be the best he can hope for.
