When you have signed up for an event we expect you to be there. If for any reason you can not make it you can sign out up until one hour prior to the practice session. If you do not then you will be reported as a no-show.

If the event uses a two race format then you are expected to be present for both races. If you leave during or after the first race without prior notice then you will be reported as a no-show.

You can not sign up as a 'maybe'. We will not reserve grid places for people that might be there, we give them to people that will be there.

When qualification starts and not all places are taken, reserves can then enter the server.

Mario, a link would be great. Just post the link in the thread, i don't see any reason why not... so other people also benefit, but pm works too, whatever you want. What is the story behind your pit strategy? Why was your last pit stop so late?

I tried to keep it simple, with 22, 22 and 21 laps = 65, slicks all the way. Ironically, because I didn't want to make any mistakes with fuel if I had to use different amounts between stops.

Who was the lucky one with the suspension problem?

Uploading to Dropbox now... I should have a link soon. I will post here for everyone. :)

My pit stop strategy... oh well, I shouldn't even talk about it. What a shame. :D Before the race started I didn't really have a strategy: I was planning to go with soft tyres and stop only once to refuel and change tyres. But during warmup I decided to try hard tyres and they lasted much longer (no surprise). The temperatures were perfect too. So I decided to go with hard tyres and stop only once. I had never raced with hard tyres during practice because my team mate said they wore off too quickly, so I didn't even try them (bad idea). So the initial strategy was 1 pit stop and soft tyres all the way. But during the race I saw some drivers stopping early, so I was sure some would do 2 stops, and I could benefit by doing only 1. However, the tyres started to wear a bit too much, especially the front one on the left. I had to stop before lap 30, if I'm not wrong. I refuelled (+66 litres - I started with full tank, that's 124 litres). Then I kept going, still with the idea of doing only 1 pit stop. But then I started to wonder if it wouldn't be better to stop at 12 or 10 laps from the end and change to soft tyres. I had a good gap for the guy behind, and with low fuel and soft tyres I could really push hard. So I pitted in on lap 53, changed to soft tyres and did my best. It worked.:D I was much quicker with soft tyres and low fuel. Those 12 laps were my best, and that's how I finished 5th.

Here's the replay: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/49474825/Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with Chicane V1.01_120505_2102_Race1.Vcr

Incident 1
In the replay, from lap 8 onwards I am chasing Ivan Navarro and Rupe Wilson. It's all very close. The incidents began at replay time: 1038 in lap 11 when Rupe is right behind Ivan and overtakes him on the inside. Ivan was expecting it and was forced to the outside. I knew Ivan would be slow through the corner becaue of that and I was faster at that particular turn in the previous laps anyway so I planted my car on the inside too, after Rupe did. A little late maybe, but fast enough to get my nose ahead of Ivan's, at the apex. Ivan did not see me next to him - he was probably looking at Rupe who just overtook him, and understandably hit me in the side. Was it an OK move on my part?

Incident 2
Only a few seconds after this incident, there is already another. I am now behind Rupe Wilson (with Ivan behind me), at turn 8. Rupe does something different from the previous laps - he takes a different line, going to the outside and then comes back to the inside of the turn, but he doesn't have the grip to do it, so his car slides (look in slow-mo). Therefore he slows down quite a bit, without warning because his rear end didn't break out much, it barely moved, and there of course was no brake lights. It looks as if I try to overtake him on the inside, but that is not the case. I just keep true to my line and pace. He slows down, where I didn't expect it. Well, at least I got to use my "sorry" quickchat button. During the race I felt it was my mistake so I waited for him and let him back in front of me.

Now I am close behind Rupe for a long time. Five laps later in lap 16, this happens:

Incident 3
I finally see a chance to make a move. I had perfectly calibrated my brake bias and breaking strength and my braking at the end of the long straight was so quick, strong and stable that I knew I could brake late after the long straight. The mistake I make here is that I brake TOO late because I am afraid that I'll hit Rupe Wilson again, and I don't have the guts to get in front of him even though there is enough room, so I stay on the inside. I overshoot the turn and take some grass. I decide that I can make it back to the track quick enough without bothering anyone but I don't manage to do it quick enough and I hamper Kacper Kolodziejczyk.

Now Rupe Wilson has a small lead but 2 laps later (lap 18) I closed the gap gain and I am once again right on his tail. Remember, I've been trying to get past this guy starting from lap 8. I'm obviously faster on this track so it's gotta happen at some point, right? You can see me trying and trying and everywhere he is slower he just gets in the way of me, lol. Bumper to bumper driving again until lap 20 on the straight, when.......suddenly.....I run out of fuel. The End.

But not quite.... I turn in as normal for the kink in the straight, but my car slows down due to lack of fuel and I'm like wtf so I don't continue the turn in, which surprises Kacper Kolodziejczyk whom I had hampered just a few laps ago, but he sees it, changes plans, and barely misses me on the inside. After the initial shock I park my car on the outside and cry myself a river.

And here's the real kicker. In the lap that follows, continue to watch Rupe Wilson. Kacper Kolodziejczyk is now behind him and catches a lucky break. Instead of having to try to get past Rupe forever like I had to, Rupe decides to make way for Kacper by spinning off the track. Couldn't you do that earlier? lol

Your thoughts? It's hard to deal with the other player driven cars when you're not much experienced with it, so if there's anything to learn from these incidents, shoot.

Once again I am driving a car that is new to me. I spent many hours in the last few days driving around this circuit just to acclimatise.

I thought I had the tyre wear pinned to a low and so planned a one stopper. Come official practice I ran with 124Ltrs so that my one stop would be a shorter one having only to take on the remaining 46Ltrs with tyres to finish. However, I now found the tyre wear greater than previously experienced. The reason being I did all my running on a half tank of 80Ltrs.

With 124Ltrs in the tank and a few laps around the track my little spread sheet said I will now be down to 44% tyre wear mid race and so a two stopper was the way to go. I had done no running on hard slicks and, now was not the time to play. So I opted for two stops.

I decided to run the first stint with 86Ltrs leaving two 40Ltr fuels stops. But for some stupid reason I put in only 66. Worse yet, having set my race pit presets although I selected the fuel with new tyres I did not actually allocate a fuel amount!? Clown!!

So as the first stop approaches, once again I am messing with my pit menu in race. And, only towards the end of the race did I realise my miscalculations and have to come in again for a splash & dash.

I qualified 10-11th(?) I ran in 6th during the first stint and finished 9th. I ran a 'cool' race losing only .5 second a lap over my best of 1:26.2xx.

90 minutes did not seem as long as I thought it would. Most my race was very quiet and where I did come across the odd driver I found fairness. WD to all.
