Important!

Please note that our rules regarding no-shows have been updated:
When you have signed up for an event we expect you to be there. If for any reason you can not make it you can sign out up until one hour prior to the practice session. If you do not then you will be reported as a no-show.

If the event uses a two race format then you are expected to be present for both races. If you leave during or after the first race without prior notice then you will be reported as a no-show.

Lights changed and it is race on but i think the guy in front was busy scratching his balls or something as he just sat there not moving, game him a nudge then got a thump from Scott Webber behind me but we all got going and made it around T1. Going into the chicane alongside but just in front of Mario when i get thumped in the arse by the same Scott Webber which sends me spinning nearly collecting Mario, so we are now down to last with a damaged car,
i had a amazing start, only to see 2-3 cars infront of me going into a pile up because some1 at the front wasn't awake, im not going to say sorry for that bump as it was not my fault.

I apologise for this bump but you did brake quite early to me, i was just easing of the throttle at the time ready to brake shortly after, but i shunted you, i never realised you went off tho, my deep apologise it was not intended at all.
The above was down to me.
Sorry for bogging down at the start without giving it enough revs. Err, it happens :(
You could have equally been awake and been ready to move to the outside.

Entering the chicane on lap 1, I also dabbed the brakes. This I think caused the slowing up of cars behind me and the consequential bumps. I didn't know if I had a car to the left of me so I wanted to stay right just in case, hence me slowing up slightly.
I don't have triple screens (1024x768 ftw), race07 doesn't have those very useful rfactor virtual wing mirrors, and even tho I have changed the look left/right to be almost instantaneous I still wasnt sure what was to the left of me. So I played safe, scrubbed off some speed and stayed right on the entry to the chicane.

I recall someone at the start saying words to the effect of "the race isn't won on the first lap".
Maybe that should be "isn't won on the first few corners".
And maybe whoever said it should take heed.

After a mistake I hit the wall, damaged the front of the car a bit and had to reverse back to the track. B. Boss overtook me and I started chasing him. I managed to catch him fairly quickly and then we had a great fight, at least I think it was great! Very, very close racing but no touches or anything else. It was quite good! I managed to overtook him and then I had to gain about 14 seconds in the last 5 laps.
Yes that was a fun few laps. You were way faster (wow did you catch up quick), but thought I could hold you off for longer than I actually did. Nice move on the last but one turn - really thought I had left no room there. It was a wtf moment when I saw your car slide up the inside :p

Had a similar battle with Ray, who was also flying but given the nature of this track it can be difficult to pass safely. Ray tailed me closely for a while, patiently waiting for my inevitable mistake. It duly came, Ray passing and disappearing into the distance.

Aside from the mentions above, I had a decent race.
Not being that familiar with the car I was happy with the pace, mostly down to familiarity with the track.
Wrong tyres and an additional splash and dash due to messed up fuel calcs perhaps cost a final spot, who knows. Either way I had a fun race, especially with drivers I found myself racing with.

Thanjks Yves for Organizing this, i was really ashamed by the turn out, even tho we had a solid sign up for this race, it annoys me people sign up and then sign out just before the race starts, surely you would only sign upto races knowing that you can 100% participate.

Even though I agree with you (I was also a bit disappointed to see "only" 16 cars on the track), anything can come up just before the race and you have to sign out, sometimes without being able to warn here. That's life, we never know what's in store for us :)

For instance, yesterday I had a power outage during qualify. Luckily it didn't last long, but a few more minutes and I would've missed the race. It wasn't my fault that electricity was cut off in the area for a couple of seconds. You can also get a minidump just before the race, a CTD, connection lost, an emergency, anything really.

@Brendon: I'm glad you enjoyed it too! In a normal situation I wouldn't push so hard, instead I would wait for a mistake, but I was still trying to catch the 5th place, so when you went a little bit to the outside of the corner, I carefully placed myself on your right side (the turn was in my favour), changed to the exterior camera (just to make sure I was giving you enough room) and tried my best. I knew I was a bit faster, but still you did well! Our fight lasted two entire laps.:)

Ross, how many of those were no shows?

I am glad I canceled ahead of time. It would have been a no show if I hadn't. My network went from terrible to gone. I just found out what it was 5 minutes ago, and got back online. It's usually my ISP but it turns out one of the ports on my router decided to pack up. When I use that port, all ports generate massive packet loss (70-100%). When I don't use that port, all the other ports work fine. Nice one, HP. I may have pulled a UTP cable and damage the port while working on my pedal setup, but that was before the V8 race (mid ohio) and my connection seemed OK then. The issue started after that race while i was trying to post on the forum, so I'll blame HP.

Hope you guys had a good clean fun race.

Nice Races.

Q - 1st
R1 - 1st
R2 - 1st

Just managed to beat Hugo to pole by a tenth. After the first few laps of Race1 people behind battled, with some contact I think, so I pulled a lead of 8 seconds. 2 laps from end, went very wide one turn in sector 3 which lost me 2 secs.
Race2 reverse grid so started 8th. Was a lot tougher race as what usually happens , happened. People's race pace is a lot faster than in the initial race. Grats to Mike for leading at the line after Lap 1 :p ... Was you tapped off or did you just lock up in the excitement ? :) After Chasing Nik Hughes for a good few laps, managed to slip one up the inside into the first turn. Hugo was fast and coming ... He caught me and we exchanged the lead twice with some real good battles. He made a mistake so I pounced and won by a second or two.

Grats all who showed. Whats next Sunday ?

i was awake but cars we're to the left of me and the grass to the right, last thing i want to do is cause is accident on the start...... and yes that some1 was me who said that, but you already no that hence the sarcastic comment you have just given, i was going at the speed as all the other cars, so that makes me aswell as others going for the win in the first few corners?

Driver mistakes we're made, 1 by me and from others within the first couple of corners, it happens.

end of discussion on this from me now.

If we keep together it might be fun. I just did a few laps around the track and it's some great fun. :) We can skip Race 2 though.

But I can't enter the server... I write the password, the little window turns grey for some seconds, and then it comes back with no error whatsoever. I can enter other RD's servers, so I don't know what's going on.
