OUT OF FUEL. *jumps off nearest cliff*

I planned to do my first pit stop in lap 22. Even though I had 56 Litres of fuel which the garage (car tuning menu) told me would be enough for 23 (one extra lap), in lap 20 I ran out of fuel on the first half of the long straight. Go figure. What the hell? I trusted in what the garage info told me, so I did not look at my fuel gauge.

I spent a couple of days practising, doing a setup, hours tweaking my pedals. Bit of an anti-climax.

Quali lap was decent, best I could with my ability, 8th place, and I got to 6th place early. My first ever start with the clutch pedal went great. Later, I made a little mistake, spun off and ended up standing still on the track, saw some people coming in my mirrors so I first-geared the hell off the driving line again into the grass. By the time I could turn around again and get safely on the track I was in 10th position if i remember correctly.

I accidentally nudged someone in the tail light at turn 8, not sure who it was, I had replays disabled, forgot to re-enable after offline practise. Anyway you went off the track for a bit, and I apologized and let you past me again. Hope I handled that OK. What I would like to know is, did you make a mistake that caused you to slide and slow down (I think so), causing me to hit you, or was just being a big idiot?

Some great close racing... man I was slightly faster than the 2 in front of me but I just couldn't overtake. Well, I did once, threw my car inbetween you two, in the first corner after the long straight, great manouver. Even greater than the one where I ran out of fuel. :D

Never trust the garage menu because it is inevitably wrong. Instead try XD, which gives you real-time telemetry. One of the many things it will tell you is exactly how many laps you can do with your chosen amount of fuel. :)

Download XD

The sad part is that I had Real Time Telemetry running on the 2nd monitor. It does the same thing and I should have used that to check the fuel consumption prior to the race. I didn't know the garage tells lies, it has always worked out for me in the past... I guess I used to add more extra fuel.

Edit: I have XD too, but got rid of it today because the readouts are too small (small dotpitch tft monitor).

Does anyone have a replay I could borrow?

Here's my report.:) But first I have to congratulate everyone who entered in this event, because I haven't participated in such a clean race in a long time. Really, everyone on the track who I saw was very respectful towards the other drivers. I must say I'm impressed, and I hope my behaviour on the track was appropriated. Thanks for such a nice race!:D

Qualify: Power outage in the middle of the qualify. "How nice is that", I thought. Luckily it only lasted a couple of seconds, so I was able to restart everything and enter the server again. With 6 minutes to go, I managed to do 2 hot laps. Got the 11th place on the grid, not bad.

Race: Good start, I managed to overtake two cars who started slower. Suddenly the guy who was on my left side before the chicane just drifted in front of me and went to the grass. I'm almost sure I didn't touch him, someone else behind him did, so I kept going. With a few mistakes from other drivers I was suddenly in front, 6th or 7th place. Then it was pretty boring, I raced alone for a lot of time. The first pit stop went good, I changed tyres and fuelled the car. Then, another ton of laps alone. The second and last pit stop was made 12 laps from the end. I changed to soft tyres and then the fun started! After a mistake I hit the wall, damaged the front of the car a bit and had to reverse back to the track. B. Boss overtook me and I started chasing him. I managed to catch him fairly quickly and then we had a great fight, at least I think it was great! Very, very close racing but no touches or anything else. It was quite good! I managed to overtook him and then I had to gain about 14 seconds in the last 5 laps. "It is going to be hard", I though. My team mate, who was not racing but was with me in TeamSpeak, told me to give it all. And I did. :) After shaving about 3/4 seconds each lap, in the 64th lap (the last one, because I was lapped by the race leader once), I managed to catch K. something (sorry, can't remember the name) and I overtook him in the last two corners and finished 5th! What an intense finale!:)

It was a great race, congrats to everyone and to the winner, of course! 65 very tiring laps, but it was a pleasure to race with you all. I have to race more around here, you guys have some pretty nice events. Championships aren't for me, I raced in STC but didn't enjoy it much. I prefer national championships. But events like these are a must! Thank you and see you next time! :)

PS: @Jeron Zonneveld: I have a replay, if you want I can upload it and give you a link. If anyone else wants, I can post here or send PM.
