I know we are all excited for this release. What I don't know is how many people intend to a) play it on the xbox one and b) would like to join some sort of a formal league here at Race Department.

There are so many possibilities, I've had to calm myself down from getting lost in them. However, my main passion, IndyCar, will probably not be able to be run until the DLC with the ovals comes to the Xbox One.

That said, what sort of series would you like to see? Personally, ones that come to mind are Tudor United Sports Car Series, WEC, British Touring Car, and DTM. One of these could fill the gap for me until IndyCar is possible, but others may have better ideas.

Please indicate below if you are interested and what sort of times you are available and which series' you prefer. We could follow the actual schedule of many a series, due to the timing of the release. Personally, if they get the ovals out before IndyCar starts, I'll probably turn my focus there, but nothing would prevent running another alongside.

The anticipation is killing me!

Would there be a possibility for the top am driver to jump into pro if the lowest pro driver agreed to drop to the am? Of course there would be a points penalty to align the two if the points were the same.

That happened to me in the dsrl league. I got stuck in the pits in qualifying as I changed my setup, had to do a hard reboot of my Xbox and was unable to set a time. I wound up in the lowest lobby and won the prototype class by like 8-10 MINUTES. Lol. I was hoping we would go off total race time with separate lobbies, but that's not possible if we don't do a standing start, as one lobbies formation lap may take longer than the others.

Suppose the winner of the second lobby finishes in a faster time then the 8th, 7th or 4th place person, has a faster lap time then the above mentioned. he is going to be penalized because of poor qualifying? Doesn't seem fair.
That's exactly why I don't like doing two lobbies.. The only exception being if someone disconnects or DNF's in the first lobby, they would be relegated to the final finishing position. Its not Fair to anyone in the second lobby.. That's why I proposed the Pro/Am idea, and have a seperate Championship in each lobby. But it will only work if we have Drivers that want to do that. And there are Elgibility standards ie. HaveBlue can't be an Amateur nor Tom.. :p

Mike, I agree. The Pro/Am lobbies does do away with that issue. It also makes a viable championship for both lobbies where guys can actually fight for victories. We could possibly do a promotion/ relegation type of deal for upcoming seasons, where we promote the top 2 in Am and demote the bottom 2 in Pro "they lost their drives with pro teams". Just a thought, and a way to keep it fun for everyone.

Yeah the Idea is to bring new Drivers in to the AM side without having them Dominate year after year.
Because even if we do Standing starts and figure in Overall Time in the race. The Leader of one lobby doesn't know the split between the leader of the other lobby and vice versa, so you don't even know who you're racing with half the time. Actually that goes for every position on the track.

Suppose the winner of the second lobby finishes in a faster time then the 8th, 7th or 4th place person, has a faster lap time then the above mentioned. he is going to be penalized because of poor qualifying? Doesn't seem fair.
See this is why I think we should do Pro/Am lobbies. Who ever said the idea about everyone running the same car, no tuning and run it as a qualifying session was a pretty good idea. Have a certain timed lap and if people can get below that timed lap, then that determines the pro drivers.

There shouldn't be any stigma attached to being Amateur. Some people just can't put the time into practice that others can. I'm running 1-2 hours maybe even 3 every night in PCars alone.
I can't argue with you on that one. My 1st league season I won the Am championship and I think I took 6th overall.. Pro and Am makes sense.

Sorry to keep posting but was at work and had no official video to upload. Here is my edit of the incodent. As I hope it shows @SkaankyPuppy was rolling back after his spin, however as shown he broke and then accelerated as I took a normal racing line into the corner. This caused me to hit him.

Again sorry and thanks.

  • The whole video.
  • Jamie and myself
  • Jamie turned in on me and basically hip checked me and kept on going. Never gave the spot back. I assume he didn’t see me as he took the normal racing line toward the apex instead of leaving me room.
  • I went from 3rd to last Jamie stayed in 2nd

Race report

Feature

Q 8th
R 5th

Qualified 8th about where I felt I would be as I made the Porsche move very late so have not practiced with that car anywhere near the rest. Car was ok in the race made changed to tc and abs as the first stint unfolded. Was in p5 before stops and stayed there after, but after my stop the car was almost impossible to drive I was losing 2+ seconds per lap on lance and Seeks despite pulling clear comfortably in the first stint! Probably another bug. Lance caught me on the final lap and had one half chance but used his brain unlike others and didn’t pursue a gap that was closing.

P5 and p6 for the team a good start

Sprint
Q 12th
R 11th

Last seasons luck continues as again I’m taken out of a race that I shouldn’t have been. Respect to oz for the apology but doesn’t change the result shame. After the contact my car didn’t handle at all well and this led to 2 further spins, only excitement was passing Jeremy on the finish line but again this was with annoying contact

Need to improve this constant contact all it does is damage your car and yours/others races. I went out of my way to finish that sprint but still got involved in mindless driving. We are better than this

No further posts please, unless it's regarding evidence for a new incident, thanks.

And @Lance Loomis it was decided that the allowable number of track excursions is 1/3 of race distance. So for this race I believe that was 8 for the feature and 4 for the sprint.

No the limit was 6. I’m not budging on that. See post below

Race Updates
. As stated in the thread track limits will be policed this season using the Hotspot system we had on Project Cars 1. @LIAMATTHURSO and @Jamief430 will be checking the designated corners for each event as well as the pit lane exit.

. The Track Limits for Turn 1 will be "2 wheels must remain on the Red Patch just to left of the kerb" anyone with all 4 wheels over this red patch will be used as a strike.

. The Track Limits for Turn 4 will be " 2 wheels must remain on the kerbs anyone seen with all 4 wheels off the kerb on exit will be added as a strike.

. Each driver has 6 strikes per event once you go passed that the footage/Photos will be saved and passed onto the stewards for further review.
