I know we are all excited for this release. What I don't know is how many people intend to a) play it on the xbox one and b) would like to join some sort of a formal league here at Race Department.

There are so many possibilities, I've had to calm myself down from getting lost in them. However, my main passion, IndyCar, will probably not be able to be run until the DLC with the ovals comes to the Xbox One.

That said, what sort of series would you like to see? Personally, ones that come to mind are Tudor United Sports Car Series, WEC, British Touring Car, and DTM. One of these could fill the gap for me until IndyCar is possible, but others may have better ideas.

Please indicate below if you are interested and what sort of times you are available and which series' you prefer. We could follow the actual schedule of many a series, due to the timing of the release. Personally, if they get the ovals out before IndyCar starts, I'll probably turn my focus there, but nothing would prevent running another alongside.

The anticipation is killing me!

Dear all drivers, For the SPRINT RACE only, we will do a rolling start. The leader will drive relatively slowly for the lap (roughly 80mph), until the formatiom point (just before the last corner) where they will choose a side, left or right, and the pack will slow to roughly 50mph and cars will then go 2 by 2. (Please until this point go 1 by 1 and give eachother space, as drivers will be heating tyres and brakes) 3rd place must be on the same as 1st, 2nd the same as 4th etcetera. The leader can accelarate anywhere from the pit entry, to the start line.

There's a big list... at the top of this thread.. All of the GT3's are available.. So far we got an ass load of Ferrari's a few Porsches, a couple of Audi's, a few McLarens, an Acura and a Nissan. Surprisingly No BMW's, Lambo's, or Merc's.

My favorites other than Ferrari, would be the Audi, BMW (M6), and Acura. I liked the Lambo too.

Beat you to the list.

Right now I'm testing out the Lambos. I've tested the BMW and I really enjoyed that with controller and wheel. With the Lambo I like it with the controller, but the wheel it's alittle too stiff for me.

That would be cool. Set a track with one car (everyone uses, but not a GT3 car), default tune (no personal tunes) and let the lap times decide who goes into what lobby. Lobbies are kept even. If you get 18 people then the 1st nine fastest go to lobby A and the next 9 go to B.

Negative Ghost Rider, it would be straight up qualifying, with number of drivers split in half.. If I qualified in the bottom half of the field I'd have to have someone fast host the other lobby, or vice versa. We do it over at DSRL because we have nearly 30 drivers. Then you're not stuck in a lower tier lobby just based on a general qualifying. The only thing I don't like about it, is if you have a bad Qually and start in lower lobby then you can only get to say 8-10th place. Or if you are right on the line you can win the lower lobby and still only be 8-10th overall, so dual lobbies kinda stink. Unless of course you Multiclass and divide the classes.

I'd almost be willing to do a Pro and Amateur Lobby. Of course it would have to be volunteer as the Division system created strife amongst the members at DSRL.
But if I did do some thing like that...
it would be for Drivers that can't make every race, and are new to the series.
Structure the Points to drop the Worst Two Races,
Allow 1 Car Change through out the Season without penalty.
Slightly more relaxed Penalties during the races, ie Pit Line Penalties, Allow Automatic Pitting. Allow other cameras, Allow Automatic Transmission... Still NO RACING LINE :p

With the Active Driver Roster filling out and interest still high. I've considered a solution to creating two smaller lobbies.
We can continue to add drivers to the list and host Speed Based Dual Lobbies which limit the second lobby leader to finish no higher than the last driver in the first lobby. There in Lies the problem.

The other option is a Amateur Class. This would Create another Championship and a Second Champion, An AM Champion and a Pro Champion
-Drivers that can't make every race, and are new to the series.
-Structure the Points to drop the Worst Two Races,
-Allow 1 Car Change through out the Season without penalty.
-Allow Drivers that are usually near the back of the pack to race against people their own speed
-Slightly relaxed Race Rules. ie

---Allow Automatic Transmission
---No Forced Interior View
---No Mechanical Failures
---Allow Ghosted Vehicles

Eligibility Rules for Amateur:
-Must not have run more than 7 races as Pro in a season

Amateur Championship Driver will be promoted to Pro at seasons end. 2nd Place Amateur Driver will have the option to stay or move up to Pro.

***Message for Incoming Drivers***
With the games current Multi-player limitations and a Full Roster for both AM and PRO we have to Create a way to make sure the Competition is somewhat aligned.
Therefore Drivers Interested in Competing in AM, Eligibility will be judged by Time Trial times at 3 locations with whatever Car Choice you are in.

The 3 TT Tracks are: Barcelona, Long Beach, and Spa.

Feature
Q: 1
Had a decent qualifying lap, front tires were overheating in the last sector.
R: DNS
I’m really not sure why we didn’t restart when 2 of us were clearly not in the race. We restarted multiple practice races for the exact same reason. As I said on PSN my pit strategies reset themselves and I had to change them so I never clicked ready.

Sprint
Q: 1
Same as feature with more understeer.
R: 5
Had some confusion at the start then into turn 4 Jamie turned in on me and sent me around. Later in the lap I turned in on Ben and punted Seeks. I saw a lot of contact in the replay as well. The two races couldn’t of gone much worse.

So... after seeing all the insane driving of the sprint race on the replay.... i might have an idea to make the sprint less of a bumper car battle.

What do you guys think about running the sprint first? Meaning that the top 5 from the sprint can't qualify for the feature. The reason I bring it up, with the feature being double the laps and requiring a pit stop, the faster drivers have time to make their way through the field rather than making dive bombs/unorthodox moves to get past slower drivers.

Let me know what you think.... we seem to always have issues in the sprint and not in the feature.

I like the idea, but the problem I see is that there are more than 5 people capable of winning a race in this league. Which means there are going to be fast people starting at the front for the feature no matter what. Given the difference in points available for the 2 races, I think the sprint race would turn into a battle for 6th place each time. The crashing is just down to decision making and awareness really. Almost everyone ran into someone at Algarve. I know I had a few misjudgments.
