Welcome to the RD Racing Club.

And another dusty job! This time we pick up where we left off last year according to the Formula 1 calendar. I think we are all excited to see in this overture to the F1 season how the teams have managed to develop a fast car. And of course which drivers will be the front runners this time.

Tonight you will learn the track yourself. Saturday and Sunday you can learn from the F1 drivers onboards and Sunday evening (if you wish) you can put it into practice with the GT3/GT4 cars.

So join us for another exciting race and:

Sign up here (Password: same as last week, otherwise post here and I will send you a PM with it.):

It's important that you also join us during the event on Discord for additional information and instructions. Link is below.

Especially the new and inexperienced drivers are recommended to participate. There are a lot of learning opportunities like overtaking and blue flag situations but without the intensity and stress of the GT3/4 cars or the endurance multiclass cars. It's also good step up for those kind of events.

IMPORTANT:

  • Qualify is split (not forced, gentleman's agreement). First 10min for the Audi's, second 10min for the MAZDA's. Don't go on track in the window of the other car class or you will be kicked from the session.
  • Blue Flags: If an MX5 driver gets a Blue Flag from an Audi, he has to stay on the racing line to be predictable. You can help the Audi by lifting on a straight, but you don't have to! The Audi driver is responsible for a safe overtake. Losing time doing this is part of the game and applies to any Audi. If you receive a blue flag from your own class, the normal rules apply.

Ok,

I found out out why I don´t like the tracks of the "Master of Flowicus Interuptus", Mr H. Thielke himself:

I suck at braking.

So, I´ll still attend at Wednesday, but I´ll only show up for the safety rating.

Naaa... I were practicing in the same time as you and you definitely have a great pace! Much better than mine in any case :roflmao:
See you on track

Out of curiousity: is there any way i can compare my laptimes with others who were on the practice servers? I am curious to see how my (lack of) racingskills compare to the rest and see in which sections i can most improve.

In a Project Cars II league i was in, it was accustom to share practice laptimes (with section times) in the thread, so you could discuss them there and give some tips and tricks.

This is frowned upon here as it is said to " scare away" Newbys.
The comparison above originated from us being on the practice server at the same time, than there´s a table with the times. It get´s reset everytime the 3h end and the server gets reset.

My target times are taken from a youtube video where the bunch raced the track last year.
( you can´t hide anything here, it´s all public record ;))

Hi Geert Jan,

We have a policy not to share laptimes before the race because we don't want to discourage potential newcomers.
Maybe you will not be scared off but others do. After the race in which they normally improve a lot, we offer help and give some tips and encourage them to keep joining. After the race laptimes can be seen on S.GP in the results.

Yeah, i totally get that and it makes sense. For me it works the other way around and encourages me to step up, but i do get that it might not work like that for others. Thanks for the reply.

Can't make the race (Liverpool / the Gooners :D ) but how do I set the track temp to 43C?
CM max's out at 36C and doesn't go higher.
Or is my CM buggered again :)
Set base ambient temperature at 28 and base road temperature at 15, like in the configuration on S.GP. In content manager you have to click on the 3 dots to get to set the base road temperature.
