Especially the new and inexperienced drivers are recommended to participate. There are a lot of learning opportunities but without the intensity and stress of the GT3/4 cars or the endurance multiclass cars. It's also good step up for those kind of events.

Sweating Carsten

(BTW, this track must have been brutal in the Shopping Trolley, it was hard in a car with working suspension.)

(BTW": the ripples in the Monza Wall are completely realistic.
A friend of mine is COO in the Aldenhoven Testing Center, they had exactly the same problem with theyr walls. And no, irl you don´t have to hold the car in the corner, the steering wheel is completely free :O_o:.)

CPU AMD fx6300, GPU AMD RX560 4GB.
Hey Jason, you have been having issues with the pc since you joined us if I am not mistaken. Must piss you off, especially as you are quick and it's stopping you getting the results you deserve. It's not worth the grief mate. Upgrade the thing and start enjoying it again. If it's the hobby we want to do we owe it to ourselves to get the best out of it we can. I did some upgrades to mine, i didn't want to spend the dosh but it made a huge difference to my enjoyment on race nights. By the way, what part of Wales? Lived in Penarth most of my life.

He has already helped me as much as he can unfortunately. it improved but not enough to make a difference.
That's quite an old CPU :(

Rasmus gave me a lot of help specing a new PC a year ago

He recommended a Ryzen 5 5600X. Here's the comparison with your CPU...

I went for a second hand GPU - Nvidia GTX 1660 Super. Again, here's the comparison with yours...

I was struggling with CPU overload with grids above 20. In AI races I was struggling with grids of 25+

Now I can run max grids with no issues - apart from my driving skill!

unfortunately with the bigger grids the CPU issue is getting worse, I think this is going to be the last year for this PC maybe sooner. :(
Jason, I got out of qualy to change things becauas of cpu warning and slowing cars, was not funny anymore. I'm on a mwahh-ish pc here as well... In Cm > settings > Assetto Corsa > Video > Quality there I switched all things shiny/smoking/smoothing to 'Off' or as low as possible (you can test it from within CM, see what it does). Went back into qualy with no issues on the cpu anymore. Apart from the warping here and there I had no more issues and still a good looking graphics quality. You can try that, hope it helps! Such a shame to see you leave everytime, you're so fCukcing fast, you'll hit most podiums. I hope you can get it running again!

don't worry Steve, one day i will put my foot through the thing and be forced to build a new one.

I'm from mid wales.

The 5600x is quite a capable CPU for AC, i´m running it myself.

BUT:

the AM4 standart motherboards are end of live, if you can catch a set it will be affordable.
On the other hand there´s now further upgrade path, AM5 rules now.

For PC that has to be updated quite a bit I´d go AM5, even if it means you need (at least) CPU, MoBO and Ram. Probably also power supply and GPU, so not much you can keep :(

If you can´t get a used PC from a trusted source thats gonna be pricey:cry:

MFG Carsten

(Rasmus was active in the Ryzen 7000 thread yesterday

Not so fast, still life in the old Am4 yet. Get a 5800x3d plus an RTX 3080 and it's powerful enough to do it all for a lot less money
