Modding Questions Thread

Hi! How can I lower the audio from all the other cars/grandstands/other under the 50%?

The fact is that I can barely hear my engine when im close to other cars..i think in reality you can't hear ANYTHING except your own engine...

I fined game bug. Can anybody check it plz:
I have 52 opened helmets in player helmet menu. If I choice helmet 52 - in race all OK - I see one, but after race befor podium my racer is in offitial 2nd pilot my team pilot helmet (not 52 from player helmet menu). Is it this bug the same for all?

Hi Gang

Does anyone know if it is possible to fiddle with the drs in a file somewhere so that i can make it so that drs will activate when within 2 seconds of the car in front rather than 1 second?

Cheers

I think this should be in the modding questions thread,

Your idea can be done by tweaking the triggers_pit.xml for every track. But you would need to plot precise coordinates to achieve the 2 second detection zone that you like. It can be quite time consuming.

yesm8t :) exactly that thing
I'm speculating, but your best bet would probably be to edit the Toro Rosso drivers to make them faster. Without messing around with engine power and other car perametres I see that as your only option really. So....

Open the database, double-click on the ai_driver txt and edit/increase the speed_in, speed_out, virtual_performance, wet_wet weather_ability and control for Ricciardo and Vergne (assuming you haven't changed your TR drivers). Make sure to keep a backup copy of your database though, because you're going to have to do some trial and error.

Hi! I'm a totally n00b.
How can I add the new fictional driver (i.e. John Miller from USA) using the model existing driver (i.e. Sergio Perez) to McLaren changing only helmet? I have Ego Database Editor v11.0. I'm very 'noobish' with modding databese. Is this a possible?

- Open database.bin
- Double click on 'difficulty' in the list on the left side.
- Scroll over through the table to the flashbacks column.
- Just click and change all these values to 50 or whatever you want.
- Save the database file and exit.

What else? I do all these things but I have no result

Hey aagancia, that sounds beyond the limit of my talent to do, guess i will just have to stick to the 1 second, cheers.

I have a question about HD car skins. In a typical 8192 skin file you have the livery_main folder and inside you have the textures_high and the textures_low folder.
Now for the question. Is the high texture file for YOUR car and the low texture file for the A.I. cars or distant cars?

Could you copy the textures_high file into the textures_low folder (remove the original textures_low file) and rename it textures_low so both files are the same size and thus have better looking cars all round?

You can yes.....but depending on your system spec you might start suffering with some FPS hit.

The high textures though will be applied to the low_LOD model.

I found it and answer it myself:
...... and then go in career (Race settings) and change the difficulty level AT LEAST ONCE. You will see if you go in the (advanced difficulty settings) that the ARROW next to the number of flashbacks is greyed .Now you can change what you want in the difficulty, but don't change the number of flashbacks. For anyone who is still searching.;)

Is it possible to completely replace the original V8 sounds on the modern cars with the classic Ferrari 1999 V10 sounds? I tried playing with the sound files, but Instead of hearing the clean V10 sound in 3rd person I only hear like a mixture between the V8 & V10 sounds which is odd, only when racing in any on board mode the V10 sounds are clearly noticeable.

Did somebody tried it yet, or is there already a mod that thoroughly replaces the V8 sounds for the V10 ones? I would love to know that.

I think it's a funny idea to try out.

The sound files from the 90s DLC are protected/blocked in a NFS file format, there is no way to do that.
