Michael Schumacher

Where the hell is Mick Doohan in your list? Shameful effort Bram :p
Yea remember Mick Doohan, my dad used to watch MotoGP and he always told me Doohan was the best ever in circuit racing.
Then in "my time" Rossi came along (which i believe Doohan helped some) and for circuit racing Rossi is the greatest.

What the guys do at Isle of Man is just incredible, they are the baddest men on the planet.

No doubt that Rossi is one of the greatest of all time but I'm of the opinion that each era has at least one 'greatest' rider but there isn't a greatest of all time. If there is a best of the best then Mike Hailwood would have to be it.

IOM riders are a breed apart much like their road racing cousins you find riding in many championships held across the British Isles.

Good luck to Shuey if he wants to ride bikes; he'd be welcome in all bike paddocks.

It all depends on when you grew up, for me i saw Rossi winning everything in every class so to me he is the greatest circuit racer ever.
Min you i never was that into motorcycle racing,

It´s a bit like people growing up watching Schumacher, to them Schumi is the all-time king.
For me it´s Senna.

I grew up watching the incredible American riders such as Lawson, Rainey, Schwantz and Spencer battling the Aussies Gardner and Doohan - all of whom won at least one world title before retirement. Now it's the current crop of ultra talented Spanish and Italian riders with bursts of brilliance from another talented Aussie who has just retired.

When i first time watched F1 race it was 1994 season i thing race after Senna died but i cannot remember anything at all i was only 4y all i remember was that i cheered for the blue car cause blue was my fav color so later in 97 when i asked my cousin, who was that guy driving the blue car? he said Schumacher, i asked where is he now :D he is in the red, in the Ferrari. I said okay! I am from this day on i am for him! So thats how i began to cheer for Schumi :))))
I have grown up with him and i have a very great moments with him. I mean events i will remember forever.

I miss him!

First race i can remember watching was the Bahrian GP i 06, i know i watched races begore that cos ive been watchin f1 since i was three

I am currently watching the 1996 season over again.

The way he dominated in adverse conditions in an inferior Ferrari at Barcelona, picking different lines every lap in order to maximise the grip of the wet weather tires while everyone else tries just to stay on the track, was just marvellous viewing.

They told how everyone in the top 10 were doing 1:49.1 to 1:49.9, all bunched together on laptimes, while Schumacher was doing 1:45s and 1:46s.

Even after losing 2 cylinders halfway through the race, he was still pulling away, albeit more slightly, and doing 1:48's.

Anyone who doubted his true talents should watch a race like that.

Unfortunately i haven't watched can you find some links of the whole race? As for what he did...i know, i bet all others now also. I have watched for hours and hours videos on youtube from the seasons i haven't seen, up to 1950. In fact, that's how i become so aware of Senna and although i never saw him race in life i mean on TV i love him i can say equally as Schumi with whom i grown up. And i know actually more for Senna than some old F1 fans here in my city...

That's why, please if u have it send i wanna watch it full :S if there is such video

Wow :S you really catch him on the exit ... By that time i thought the time i spent in front of TV watching F1 made me an expert since i haven't missed a race since 1998. Only on rare occasions when i must go somewhere else or was on vacation even then i watched but sometimes you couldn't find a TV. NVM. So u watched his first race in 2006 :D wow ... you really missed a lot...

And i find it very interesting that as time goes by people are only giving more and more respect at what he did, Schumi.

PS. I was so happy to see Schumi had equal car to Alonso's Renault in Bahrain 2006 which was the opening Grand Prix. And that close wheel to wheel pit exit, as it was yesterday :/

I do not think I am allowed to post the link for the 1996 races here :/

But I am watching the races of that year like someone who is watching them for the first time, although I still remember many things - like the way he harried Villeneuve at the Nurburgring for the lead all race even though the Ferrari was clearly inferior as he had to run such a high downforce setup because of the bad handling of the car.

He really got 100% out of inferior cars back then, and looking back at those times, the way he abused the tires, I am convinced that today's soft drive-on-eggshell tires were the cause of his struggles in his second career. However, he definitely was not the same driver any more. But I bet he was still close.

Of course, we will never have proof.

Why would that be o.O i think anything can be posted here? Formula One Race Videos directory perhaps, we will create one :p

And about his return in F1..i recorded the first race of him since retiring, in Bahrain 2010 on which i made video 1 month ago and that was the reason from Formula One i got copyright strike and my 5y ytube acc was terminated :)

However, when i listened on the radio that he is coming back i recall it was Friday sunny day and i just got passed on a exam. And hearing the news i was sky high happy :D AS IT WAS YESTERDAY (for something that happened very close) time as flashed by! Wow :S
So i also dreamed about he passing as first with his hand waving high in a victory :D but you know how they say? That dreams in sleep never come true? So ... that also never came true. But yet we have moments of him in Monaco waving his hand, Valencia etc. Actually one of his best performances in his return was Montreal last year on that pouring rain GP when he fought for the 3rd position for the first time. I was jumping on the couch at my friends house and crossing fingers. But that ... Webber  nvm

No one expected from him to be better he had 41 years when he came back. Barrichello on 37 already was outpaced by his teammates. That just proves how great Schumi was. I mean Schumi was either too from Rosberg but he had a really great moments and he was 43! I also found very interesting and i dont know if anyone else spotted that too but Schumi in 2010 whenever was behind Rosberg he managed to get in front of him in the start of the race :) and managed to get very early in the top 5 faster than him. If not in front of him at least used to get more places than Rosberg on the start. That was all the time from 2010 up to 2012

no i watched f1 since i was three but thats the first main race i can remember, schumi v alonso at pit exit. Since i learned about some of his, lets say 'tricks' i havent been a real fan but i have to appreciate his skill and thinking. I am a fan of Ayrton and nothing will change that but Schumi was incredible

Michael was by far last dinosaur from early (!) 90s to retire. Actually, he was 13 in his first championship in 1991. In 2012 he ended up 13 in the championship table. Ironic, isn't it.

Also, he qualified 7th for his first race for Jordan at Spa in 1991, and finished both his last race at Spa in 2012 in seventh, and his last ever F1 race at Interlagos in P7, and he was driving car number 7 :D

Oh, and also the small matter of 7 WDC's he won :p

I'm sure he likes the number 7!
