PC1 Latest Build testing.

As you all know, Ian gave me a free pass to test the latest builds and that's what I have been doing for the last week. I will report here as and when I see fit to tell all about my findings.

But I will say that the latest build (296) is quite good. Now lets make some sense of my statement. I used a Lotus 98T in helmet cam using my antique MOMO red wheel and I can honestly report it is coming along much better than I anticipated. The actual feel and immersion is damn fine at this point. The handling is strange at first compared to say...RF2 and FVA, but it grows on you within minutes. At this point in time, this actual car feels good. I like it and I love the Milan circuit. The damage model has come on leaps and bounds.

I am doing some more testing all of next week using a G27 and I will also test some of the other cars that don't interest me as much (I am a F1 nut) and see how the feel in comparison to Shift 2, because that is what I was initially comparing PCars to.

I would like the replay function to have a directors mode though. Something that jumps from action to action and from car to car.

Aside from that, the replay's do crash my PC quite often but I understand that is being looked at.

well, i felt like with just a little tweaking i have at least decent "well its there" kinda pre-s3 R3E level ffb.

rly looking forward to them continuing to license the official ingame cars, as well get the hybrid systems simulated ( i know this is already done to a degree in the P1).

as someone who got the alpha still, in the back of mind, worrying if it would in some way be 'simcade', those fears are absolutely gone now... just hope they hire a FFB guru or something for us who wanna play is at should be played

You need a permanent ban from here. You have pirated a game and still ask for help? Un-frikken-believable.

People paid to test and evaluate the game. You didn't. Any one can say they pre-ordered it to try and justify there actions.

ps, the FFB is still broken even in the latest build in my opinion.

I have no problem with someone using a torrent/pirate version as a demo until a real demo or the actual final game is released. The guy says he has preordered the game so what's the big deal? It's a victimless offense.

What?! Do you realise how silly it sounds? It's ok to pirate the game because there is no demo and the game is not released?! Seriously?

Oh yeah, sure, he preordered the game, it gives him the right to download the game illegally...

I agree with you. Some people eh? The guy openly admits he torrented a pirated copy and yet he somehow thinks he's in the right. Honestly, you couldn't make it up.
But no harm done because the WMD investor has not lost any money yet.

lemme just really clearly explain. i preordered pcars over christmas. wh ether i had or not, when i noticed a post about a build being out available on the internet, i was gonna check it out. ive really lookingi been forward to pcars but bc of the laws they ran into or w/e it was, im really out of the loop. i think it could move into a top place for me, some other comments make me think twice. even tho im getting complex piece of software thats presumably all over the place in terms of development, i can hopefully get a feel for thats more along than others while i look forward to owning pCARS.

so yeah i truly believe no one was injured. tho some drug money somewhere along the line mayve gone to an arab who gave it to an uncle who gave it to his son on his 9th birthday, & he'll martyr himself tomorrow, killing 16 in an israeli pizza store. but probably no one was hurt.

so many things that actually matter for ppl to get upset about. choosing this...i rly, rlly hope u love life, bc u shd. and if you do to that degree....maybe learn to deal with th ings not being absolutely perect as ud see them evrytime a little better. and sorry anduy, no.

Going back to topic, the builds now feel very polished. Everything is coming together to deliver something that feels "whole" if that makes sense. FFB hugely improved and the in game myriad of options work v well for it. I reckon it will be a huge hit.

I'll test it tomorrow with my new T500rs. I do not hold much optimism. The last few builds have had as much FFB as stick insect that died a year ago.

Tested it again. Still terrible default FFB. Nevermind eh, back to AC, GSCE and RRE.

I only test the latest builds with the default FFB settings. If the devs can't get the default to at least feel as good as a need for speed game then there is something amiss. It's currently the worst FFB I have ever experienced in a so called race sim.

Whenever I try Pcars and then go to RRE, GSCE or AC, it just makes me not want to even try Pcars ever again.
The thing is though, their default FFB used to be reasonably good about a year ago.
I'm afraid Pcars will be good for eye candy but not for feel at this rate. But I am willing it to be great and I hope one day it will be good enough for RaceDepartment club races.
Time will tell.
