Is VR dead?

I can’t wait for the day vr headsets are not intrusive to wear and pcs are capable to run them with full graphics, the immersion will be amazing but until then my g2 sits unused, I just can’t bring myself to sell it even tho I’m using the g9 now instead.

My next wall mount GPU radiator.

Still looking like the 40 series will be about twice as powerful as the 30 series.
Interesting that they have information on the 4090 and 4070 but not 4080.

This video suggests that
the 4070 will outperform the 3090 and that
the 4050 could out perform the 2080Ti.

I think Pimax with its announced next gen VR set is listening to you.
You can even buy one of their existing products now - and then get a full refund as a rebate when the next gen arrives.

CatsAreTheWorstDogs: If it ever arrives :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

I still have very little faith in Pimax. Maybe they will earn it someday, but they haven't yet.

The reason Im pretty sarcastic about this company is exactly because of their history.
And then after having read some of their answers to users who have been so unfortunate to buy their products.
And realised that the expensive stuff more or less didnt work.
Haha and became even more against this firm after I realised they had hired one of the most untrustwordy european "influencers" I have ever seen :roflmao:

I was a PiMax backer for the 8k launch on Kickstarter. I would never buy a product from them ever again. Its not just that the headset never worked properly, that is pretty bad, or even that they deny that is possible and banned all the people that had issues with warping, that is also bad, no its the continuous streams of lies they pump out while ripping off their existing customers by never delivering what they bought and a 1000 other things that are just appalling scummy behaviour. Its mostly just a scam, a lot of what they do if they were a Western company would have got them properly sued into oblivion.

Friends don't let friends buy from PiMax.

I backed the original 8K, swapped to a 5K+, owned it for a bit then sold it. Upgraded to pre order the 8KX, then sold that without even receiving it. Had it sent straight to the new owner.

Best thing about Pimax is that I made over $1000 AUD with their products as a backer.

So there's that.

I just can't see myself buying a GPU with higher than 300W consumption. 250W has been the sweet spot for noise for literally years and everytime they went above that the noise and heat was a real problem. We are already at the stage where GPUs are rapidly going from 1.5-2 slot to 3 to even 3.5 and 4 slot designs just to cool them well which seriously reduces the expansion ability of an ATX motherboard but if we start pushing 600W they are going to have to get really big and probably water cooled. Not only will none of that be cheap but it wont be quiet either nor comfortable to be next to especially in the summer. It also will cost a fair bit to game on.

coming at all
China invading Taiwan and/or nuclear war could interfere,
but Nvidia otherwise needs halo product that
could compete with anticipated Intel (and AMD) offerings
which likely bundle CPUs and GPUs.
Lacking a competing CPU, throwing power at GPUs
is an obvious tactic, supported by industry intel.

Maybe replace the stock fans with quiet fans like Noctua etc...
