Mostly it is not the wheel that determines the speed, but the one touching the wheel :)thumb:). Unless your pedals are spiking you don't need a new wheel to reach better times. Although a G25, like you mention is a wheel with amazing FFB feelings and will defenitly gives you more joy with your game compared to you current wheel!

Spiking like maxing out? i know some times when i enter the Sim the gas is to the floor with out me even touching it. Also i turn the wheel about 3/4 of an inch either way then the car turns i have noticed that on all of my racing games.

You only have the Legends and Solstice car to start with, your license will only allow you to race those series.

Click on the series button and then the series, one of the two (Legends are Oval) and you'll go to the series front screen, on the right hand side is a button to join the series if you're eligable - if I remember right it's yellow.

As you progress up the licenses you can then take part in more advanced cars and tracks, these do however require you to make a further purchase!

Personally I'm quite happy racing the Solstice for now, some very close and entertaining races go on with them. :)

I do own the Radical, but have yet to get the required license level of 'C' (I'm on D).

The reason for that is the rookie cars are fixed setup and dont allow setup changes to keep things simple for rookies when just getting into iRacing.
Only in the Advanced legends or solstice can you start to make setup changes. And even then they dont allow much to be changed. The cars above those do allow for more setup changes depending on the car.

Keeps changing as they add more cars and tracks. But a few hundred dollars at least.
Best way is only to buy what you need to race the series you want to race in when your license allows it.
Obviously you could buy it all but you wouldnt have the time to race them all.

isn't that realistic the shaking if u think about a real car the steering wheel will shake on startup and on straight when ure going through the gears a real wtcc steering wheel will shake a bit because of the engine torque

just a suggestion.

I got iRacing this week and I was really skeptical about it, especially the cost but I can say it's worth every penny if you can afford it.

The cars feel like they are riding on rubber and you can feel the abrasiveness of tarmac....especially if you spin. There's also wind noise... and in cars which have downforce you can feel it increasing with speed. You can't take the chances in iRacing that you can with Simbin sims which adds to the realism.

The tracks are super realistic, makes Simbin look arcade.

It is very professional and weeds out the serious racers from the gamers.

These kind of mini reviews makes me want to buy (try) it more and more.. hehe :)

If you like new challenges I'm positive you'll find it rewarding as the concept of iRacing is based on the individual.

They have taken a great sim that has 20 million dollars of development and created a driver advancement system which rewards safe and clean driving...just as if you were a rookie coming up through ranks in real racing series. Everyone begins at the same level and from there the sky is the limit.

Greger Huttu who is a GTR,GTR2, rFactor racing god found it worth his time as he has already won a Skip Barber formula c'ship in iRacing.

I have a feeling when I finish the current Evo league season I'm in I will be devoting 100% of my time to iRacing. After 8 seasons of GTR/GTR2/Evo I'm ready for a change.

Is it worth it?

Well, that is in the eye of the beholder.

For $20 you can try it for a month. We are spoiled by getting free demo's a lot of the time but $20 is nothing these days.

You can get a good enough taste to know whether or not you want to go farther. Just don't expect fluffy eye candy that you get with most games, they put their efforts into the sim.

The cars feel great, the tracks are unbelievable and the racing is great.

Add to that all the future plans they have and you can look at the money you spend as an investment into a sim that will get better and better as far as content.

Cheers guys.

$20 is about £14 atm so I wouldn't call it nothing. The 12 month sub is £106! That is a little exspensive at first look without having a go.

So I think I will have a 1 month trial before I commit to it.

One question. I assume my account and stats don't get wiped if I have breaks in between subs?

I think I go for a 1 month sub just to try it.

However if I like it and I buy a 1 year sub after my 1 month is over, the following is still stopping me:

Let's say I buy for another 100 bucks different tracks and cars. If I really like the sim than it's worth it I guess, but that means that I have to keep on buying new subs every year, otherwise I can't use the tracks and cars I bought.

Maybe I'm going to fast now hehe, I will buy a 1 month sub when I got my creditcard which I ordered just for Iracing (and maybe also NetkarPro) and I'll see after that month what comes next.
