"I think another point we need to take note of is, whilst the PC community would love this hard core simulation thing which is fine, as Allan said there is a console community that aren't going to fully adhere to that. The product at the end of the day needs to appeal to both sides, hardcore racer as awell and the casual gamer. A game that does that really really well is Formula One.
Well that's a bit concerning

I'm still a simracer! Maybe at the moment a better informed one than most, but time will tell. It's interesting to see what a single tweet can cause (but I guess I should not be surprised in the modern world of social media)!
rF2 tweets have the same effects, lol, Reiza ones too and so on...when you guys are celebrities in simracing you have to deal with it!! :p

Its sad to know that all the developers just concentrate on just one championship, and with it comes a ton load of system requirments. IMHO they should go the project cars 2 way and specialise in one group or the other. This would left the majority of the sim race community a much more range of choice.

Its hardly all the developers. Sector3, SMS, S397, Reiza and iRacing will still offer you your non-championship sim. For years the full racing series has been neglected and we've just had non-specialised sims. Its nice to see them back IMO.

Based on WEC. So that means it can handle lots of AI and simulate day and night? In my very honest opinion that's the main factors about sims like these. rfacto2 is said to handle 100+ AI, I hope for similar case.
