GTR 2

ok so this means no hitting the Curbs either right? since the curbs are outside of the white lines.

Is this only for the Bus Stop or every other corner also?

please don't take my question the wrong way, I just need a little clearing up. Try to understand I hit curbs on almost all the corners, so this in an important issue:) :)

Luis, with all due respect, would you please read the rules .pdf document? All described there. If you have 2 wheels on the track (between white lines) the other 2 can be on the curbs, until they are not touching the grass/tarmac/sand whatever behind the curbs.

ok
i will say this...
briefing is still not done...it will be up tonight...yes I am aware of the last race situation

Mark, tnx for uploading your hotlap....i will look at it & let you know as soon as i have a bit of time

Neil...that line that you show is wrong...that line don't show at least to wheel on track
try to keep at least 2 wheels on track....if not it will be count as cutting

oops i see a lot of replies in front of me...soo slow

I have read it before, and like I said I just needed clarification. with your last quote (whatever behind the curbs) you have.

you leave at one time or another even when the session ?????? ;)

i think wel... :) So your replay is always saved (if you have activated the option!:))

and the same if you redownload the track...
OK will try explain again, only if you go out of the qual session and leave the server there is a hotlap saved . if you go to the next session aka warmup you DON't have a hotlap replay or any replay of the qual. Try and you will see, just try to find the qual hotlap replay off the Wednesday racenight, you won't find it.
And yes off course i have it activated.

guys, for once can you please read the rules? i even linked it here in this post again.

I will quote it for you, bold part is the relevant answer for your question:

The Track
48.
Drivers must respect the boundaries of the track at all times and thus stay on it with
at least the two left or the two right wheels, unless an exception on this article is
announced in the Briefing.

49.
The track is the tarmac between the (white or yellow) lines and the curb stones.
Grass, sand- and gravel traps and tarmac behind the lines are not considered part of the
track.

50.
Drivers are allowed to use the tarmac behind the lines with the two wheels that do
not necessarily have to stay on the track.

51.
Drivers are not allowed to use the grass or sand- and gravel traps as a part of their
racing lines, not even with the two wheels that do not necessarily have to stay on the

track.

No problem, I dont want to be racing if I have broken the rules, so please inform me as soon as you know if my lap was satisfactory, thanks

In the hockenheim post nothing was mentioned about it beeing an exeption of the rule. It just mentions what are the track bounderies and what arn't.
In spa the same sort of Green area is behind the burbs of the busstop so it was treated the same by some drivers as it was on the hockenheim track.
Thus i think the confusion started, at least that is how it started with me.

Therefore i think it would be nice to give some pics before qual starts so it is clear by everyone.

Only giving some pointers here.

OK so I am still at work but I got a friend to take a look for me on the replay, and although I hate to say this it looks like I am breaking the rules...

...only just mind but rules are rules and I am clearly over that white line, the 2nd part of the chicane was perfect aparently but this is the proof for you.

Let me no the consequences and if i have to redo the lap can you please keep the server open a little later as I dont get home from work till 6.30pm (UK time).

Thanks,

Mark

The League rules are the basic one, as it is stated there also, unless an exception is posted on the forum, as it is also written there. I dont know, but for me it is perfectly clear.

interesting that you think that the line used is wrong and that the track was cut, the pic i showed was the line taken by Henrik Roos from the in game time trial training lap, if you follow his lap you will see he uses the curbs as part of the track of several places and not just the bus stop.

As far as i understand the rules on cutting penalties Mark is that time is added to your fastest illegal lap, then thats it for you,no more pre qual runs.
I now have some doubts about my pre qual lap,but the tone here suggesting deliberate cutting in an attempt at cheating i find personally insulting,im happy within my own mind that i always try as hard as possible to keep within every rule of league racing, not just track cutting, maybe the fact i arrive at the busstop braking point in a state of semi-panic and try and hang on as the car hauls me through the turns by the scruff of my neck, some day i plan to be one of those super cool smooth precision guys that hit every turn with clinical accuracy lap after lap,at my current rate of progression i can calculate that i will be challenging Huttu/Domjan/Duhan by about 2040 :D.

sorry for being such an idiot right now.....but who?

is it one of the challenge in GTR2?

well if he drove that line....then he can do that under the organization that is is driving in........maybe they can let it go with that cutting.

but you have to remember, we have made our own set of rules to make racing more fun & respectful...& one of them is being that those kind of cutting are not permitted
this is to avoid people using or pushing the in game cutting limit to see how fast they can go.

i hope it is clear now
