Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
I'll have a look at that!

All the FX and post processing is already off, I run on a RX580 and a i5-2500k that I clocked the heck out off. Looking at parts for a new machine now but my best bet is the Steamdeck once that arrives :roflmao:
@RasmusP advised me what to get for my self build and its a cracking pc with great upgrade potential. The build was pretty straightforward too.

Just my 2 cents on this, hope you're having a great race all! :)
I had a similar issue with mosport. Try switching settings-video: "shadows resolution" to off. This made the most impact for me.
Massive boost indeed! Massively for CPU bottleneck since the cpu doesn't have to calculate all the shadow rays and a boost for the graphics card too because it doesn't have to display the shadows.
If you're using content manager & csp, in the csp settings - graphic adjustments - "fidelity fx" i think, set that on and to balanced or performance and it'll degrade the sharpness a bit, but it'll get you some good frame rates back in return, espically for low end/laptops, which I'm on.
That's on the other hand is graphics card only. It's like turning down the resolution, just without it looking completely like crap.
Very nice for laptops indeed, which mostly have an okayish CPU but basically "no graphics card".
Also switch off post processing (on the settings-video page) as this is another GPU/CPU drain
This boosts both again. And by quite a massive chunk!

You should activate developer apps and run both render stats app, but especially the one with the red and blue line in the bottom.
You need to find out what part is limiting to adjust settings accordingly.
I had a 2600k at 4.4 GHz running AC at around 60 fps without any issues. Especially with csp's custom font rendering it had no issues.
Sure, you're lacking hyper threading so your cpu might get to 100% load but still.. I somehow doubt that we couldn't get it to run flawlessly!

Let's hook up on discord at some point and I'll guide you through everything if you want :)

And yeah, Colin's new 5600x just dropped in price so he really got a massive bang for his buck I have to say!

Keeping control on T6+7 and on T9 is my main issue right now. Basically anything that helps my lack of skill on the weight transfer on med speed corners. So far I've been going with higher downforce(way more than what you recommend, 0 on rear rollbar and slightly soft sus on the rears(than the default ones)

And everytime I'm a tiny bit too fast on a corner, there's a big chance I'm losing the rear on corner exit

T9 should be fixable with brake bias forward (lowering the number) and the diff coast toward understeer also(value up). Aero wont help you massively there. Are you get oversteer transfering from 6 into 7? I would play around with ride height there. There is a big lump in the back of the car so moving the ride height up and down and playing with the rear ARB, bump and rebound setting can imrove the chicance handing. Need to be able to pinpoint exactly when it's happening to solve the problem easily. Is it on a bump or when the weight shifts for example. Sometimes you just have to adjust the line. Less speed out of T5 into t6 can mean t7 is easy. Same with T9. You enter that corner middle of the track from memory, but you still want some understeer from the brakes.

Is this the same track we used a year ago? I know it's been revised but don't understand the different updates regarding the track itself . I was faster here with the 911 and can only just touch the same times now in the Z4, usually I am faster in it than my early days racing here in the Porsche. Wondered if comparing lap times from the previous race is valid assessment. Track temps look a bit lower in the previous event, not sure if that makes a difference. I could of course just be slower.

yeah, it feels like lift-off oversteer to me

I think the Huracan is less forgiving when you approach a corner with too much speed. I need to keep this in mind more often

bump and rebound are a couple of settings I don't really grasp completely.

thanks, that was helpful already.

A lot of GT3's this time so I'll switch to the Ginetta to even the balance a bit more although I practiced with the Nissan. If possible please sign up as early as possible.
I am currently in GT3 but I don't mind switching. If we are still heavily GT3 weighted in a few hours time I will start practicing in the Ginetta.

Hi Tim,

I would rather have someone switching who is slower than me:D.

But serieusly, do what you like. We have now 7 Ginetta's which is fine.
It just that this time I don't have much time to practice in the weekend and so I did practice during the week with the Nissan, also because I did't drive GT3 since September.
But with the Ginetta I don't need much practice time so it's ok for now.

Tried this track with the shadows off but at that point it becomes just too dark to comfortably drive on unfortunately. Alas, this track is one that brings my PC to it's knees!

That's weird.. When I used shadows off at the Nordschleife, everything was simply as bright as with shadows, but without the shadows Oo
