It's crazy, I don't feel like i'm going slow... i don't feel anything really. The sense of speed is hard for me to feel at this point.
Most inconsistent corner for me is T8 because of it's fast entry and decreasing radius. It's easy to take too much speed into it and then end up on the grass.

I must be slowing too early for the corners in general though, That's the only thing i can figure. if you guys are doing 1:32s i'm 5 seconds off at my best and 7-8 seconds off pace in general

One thing though that surprises me is that 2:14 got you third against 'Very Hard' AI :O_o: I currently stick to racing just 'Hard' AI and the top few of those are still tough to beat for me although I don't think I have done an actual quali session against them yet. How did you get on in the actual race against them?
I think the AI is somewhat like the F1 AI in that they adjust their pace to your pace, if you know what i mean. I'm sure that if i shaved a few seconds off that time in the quali session the AI would have suddenly found a few seconds more as well. The "Very Hard" setting probably has more to do with their competitiveness on the circuit and less to do with consistent fast pace.

There is rubber banding :(

When you are behind the AI slow down. When you are in front the AI speed up.

Wish there was a way I could turn it off.

I think in the Mini’s in particular the sense of speed is tough to get especially when we are so used to the F1 cars but I really enjoy how they feel. I can’t say there’s any turn that I dislike on this circuit… T1 I find quite difficult because I seem to have to brake earlier than the AI and as a result lose time there as they try to get past me.. I’ll go into a practice session next time I am on track to get some time minus the AI.

Slowing too much for the corners is where I was struggling initially, those corners from turn 2-8 you can really attack far more than seems possible and carry much more speed through them. The great thing with this game though is that the ability to set unlimited flashbacks gives you the opportunity whilst learning the circuit to try and retry any given corner or section section as many times as you wish which aids the learning process a lot.

It’s surprising how quickly you can find that time Karl, my first laps were 1:36 / 35 but with just a little more confidence of the speed through those corners you quickly find the 4 or 5 seconds you need to get down to where myself and Robert are at present.

@Loore‌

Can you confirm that mirrors are no longer being included the console patch despite earlier promises the contrary?

Loores response..
I don't think mirrors were ever promised for consoles, it's always been a PC only thing due to the performance implications they cause.

@Robert Waddell wasn't it Loore that mentioned them to you.

You get
level 32?!?!?!?!
how long is that gonna take?

it really is prohibitive to have this stupid levelup-before-tuning thing. who wants to even race online if they can't tune their car?
You get basic tuning at level 16.

Yes I agree it's something that really bugs the hell out of me. Robert has outlined the quickest way around this but it still means having to go online and mess around with these one lap sessions for every car you own. Time I would rather spend racing properly especially as there's not always someone around to run the sessions with.

You should be able to run your cars offline and work to get them levelled up in a more sensible way rather than restrict it to online which gives an immediate advantage to those able to spend time in online sessions and handicaps those that can't.

I think you all realize just how much more enjoyable tuning makes these cars. As I've said all along, what if you had to drive a middle tuned F1 car all the time when you knew you could tune it? Not acceptable, eh? I agree Karl, why even race, if you can't tune? Well it will only get more intense the higher we go with cars. Trust me.

Regarding the "having to level up" it's something you just have to accept. It's hard now, especially with the corrupt file nonsense, but once you buy (easy) these cars, getting to level 32 for most of us is not as similar to being hung on a cross as Peter makes it out. (j/k Peter). Most of us, like Peter just said, find ourselves not being able to stop playing the game because it's very good physics. (Some may disagree, but so be it). In fact, if Peter had put all of the time he said he was not going to put into playing the game (again, not a jab at you Peter, just the addictiveness of the game..it did the same to me last night with the challenges) into grabbing a friend and leveling up he could be at 32 in 30 mins. Or at least going to public lobbies and being at, say, 16 in 30 minutes. It's not that burdensome for the benefit you get -- a car; you own; and can tune; and paint; and level up more. Once the bug is fixed of course. Even with the bug, I got a Mini and back to level 32 in about 60 minutes. Jeeze. (CM really should be shot for making you play to tune though).

Hell, I wish I could give cars away that were immediately tunable, but if I could, this would be Forza, and none of us would be here. What they should really have done is let you buy the ability to tune instead of have to play the game to get it if they were so intent on this bulls*it scheme.

One more thing - -for some, level 16 is fine (jack up the springs to +100; Diff to preference; bias in middle, gears in middle, and downforce, well, -100 for Indy, but maybe @ 0 for a tight street course.
And for others, they want to fine tune more, so they need to get to level 32 or so. That makes everything at least tunable in 25% increments instead of 50% or 100% either way. For me, I go for the full enchilada. But to tell you the truth, tuning is not going to gain you that much time. Maybe 1-3 seconds. So to me it's worth it, but Boothy, for instance, could beat me with an un-tuned car (and probably have fun doing it) even if I was in a fully tuned car (and also having fun doing it).
