That should be ok for me Robert although I am going to have to race this one with little practice as my spare time this week has to be spent on getting some practice in for the F1 India race. A Monday race would give me an hours practice early evening though which I would not have with the Saturday race.

It might well be my last race in the series for a while though unfortunately as the weekly schedule at this time of year is very difficult coming during Summer holiday time. I am on holiday from the 9th August meaning I miss the Brands Hatch race on that day :( and probably the following week too at Spa :( and with my birthday being on the 23rd August I will have my daughter visiting for a few days from Manchester and staying that weekend for a family get together so the race on the 23rd at Okutama is also one I will not be able to make. Event 6 at Sepang on the 30th is looking like the next race I can make so the grid will be one light for that period i'm afraid.

Well, it sounds like moving the races to weekdays will not help your situation in the future, except maybe the birthday weekend, but I'll do my best to put some races on Wednesday or Thursday nights (if that would help), as I likely will have them off. If not, we will just have to manage as best we can. Monday would probably suit many better since it seems F1 is the primary focus until Sunday afternoon.

Pole = 1 point

Race Format
TOURING CLASS -- There will be a qualifying session to start after a minute in the menu section to get your car tuned if you own it (but it's best to pre-tune it from your garage). The qualifying session will be in the form of a race (since there is no on-line qualifying) of three laps, from a standing start. (Don't forget, if there is A.I. in the race, the qualifying session and subsequent line-up will include A.I. slotted to their respective times). Following this, there will be two races of 30 minutes each (or the equivalent number of laps it would take the best A.I. driver to reach 30 minutes). Grid order will be qualifying order for Race 1 and order of finish of Race 1 for Race 2.
Grids of less than 8 drivers will be filled out with A.I. on "very hard" difficulty.

Be careful because the game does not allow pit stops, so repeated damage (indicated by icons on the right lower HUD and progressive in increments of yellow then red) due to a well developed damage model could seriously compromise your race.
Flashbacks: None
Tuning: Allowed
Upgrades: Disallowed
View: Any
Gears: Manual or Automatic
Assists: Disallowed

The week of the 9th to the 16th is the biggest problem in terms of racing as I am simply not at home so not able to race at all. I will be travelling back on the 16th so it depends on what time I get back as to whether that days race will be any good for me but of course i'll have had no chance to get in any track time at all beforehand as i'll have no Xbox while away. The 20th and 23rd are definitely out due to my daughter being with me but the 21st (Thursday) I can probably make as she will be at her Mums that evening.

If races can be rescheduled to fit in then great but only if others are happy to do so as it's not worth changing it if it causes even one guy a problem.

Whoops my bad. Nobody got a picture of the final standings since they disappear so fast and I had forgotten you crashed out. (DNF, right?) The video I made of the second race didn't go to the end unfortunately. If someone can record the finishes that would be great. There is barely any time to capture that screen.

So Matthew, you were 4th for the 2nd race, right?

Yeah that's right :)

Im happy to race anyday that's arranged tbh.

I had another go at DC last night... with boothys setup then with Chris' setup...yuck. those soft springs are terrible. I stiffened them up and it felt hella better..... but i'm still slow. Best time in custom cup practice/quali was 2:14.9 . Good enough for start position 3 in a race with the AI set to very hard, but no where near competitive for most here.
Not really sure where to go from here. I see the next race has been set so i'll see if i can improve there.

Also tried to start career last night and got super bored and frustrated immediately.
It takes so long to get used to the car and the circuits and try to sort out tuning changes that make the car competitive and then you get to the race and it's only two laps. I suppose you can change this to make them longer, but there is no greater reward for that. Only thing left for me to do would be to lower the AI level.... yuck.

Not sure i'll bother with career. Probably will just try to practice for these races, but if i'm consistently last i don't see me practising much lol.

Someone post their time times for the next race to give me a target.

which one is it? The oval?
i thought we were racing the infield circuit?
No it's the GP circuit as far as I was aware but I selected that in a session earlier and it definitely wasn't the one in Roberts video. It started with a left hand kink followed by a tighter left then a right... Confused lol Problem is there's no track maps anywhere to check it out as far as I know. I'm sure Robert will clarify it later.

From the map above it looks like I might have started my race along the short straight before turn 7.. Maybe that's the reverse circuit :O_o::giggle:
