Peter:
Thanks for all that very helpful information. I had seen that post from the guy who did multiple saves and the first thing I noticed was that he said he was in the top 1-3 %
, I think the best I have ever done is top 40-50%. But yea, I'm kind of leery of switching back and forth between I.D.s too much or changing my RaceNet I.D. then changing back, because I haven't gotten a clear answer on whether a separate User I.D. is different from a separate Microsoft live account. I've heard people mention that they had to pay extra to get more user I.D.'s but I've created about 5 of them with no issue regarding money or account information/passwords/etc/ This leads me to believe that they are really sub accounts under the master account (whatever that is named) with Microsoft. In fact, some games recognize two users on at the same time, in exercise videos, for instance, or multiplayer games. Also I'm not sure how the guy who wrote the post has gotten access to all of his "saves" at once. Seems like he can jump from save to save and play in a multitude of garages, which, of course, I could not do. But I guess I could try to get on and gain the money from last week's challenges, then try to level up the MINI again.
Isn't the change in driving style fantastic! I can see Boothy's times on the challenge leaderboards (X button) and Jordan has friended me, so I've seen his times too, which are faster even than boothy's. And Wes, with you in the mix, God knows there should be a tremendous battle up front. I'm like you peter, I tend to baby these cars around when I really should be flooring it. Washington is a good example since the streets are so wide, you think "oh, this is easy and such a nice drive" when in reality, you should be having the same feeling you do at Monaco. Your description of the three apex left is perfect, and a great example of this. I too geared down for it until I realized, "wait a minute, this should be scarier" and so tried it flat out. And it was scary. lol. But I was properly fast through there then, and had to hit the apexes just right at much higher speeds than at Monaco. Or at least it felt faster. I think a wide road course is actually harder than a tight one, because you deceive yourself into thinking that you are going fast when you are really not. At least I do. So I've had to push myself...and it's a whole new experience. The street courses in Race Pro were sort of like this, but many of them were tight as hell, so you never really had this wide open feeling. Or if you did, it didn't last long.
Regarding the patch, Loore, the guy most people communicate with on the CM forum, said he was "hoping" the patch would be out in 2-3 weeks. This was two days ago. How that relates to the above, I have no idea. But I do know that you are right about Codemasters...their testing process is a big fail. Especially online. Notice how all the pre-release videos never had any info about multiplayer. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this is the wrong approach. A fully playable demo would be better. Didn't they used to do that? So all the bugs could be worked out?
