Cars feel very "light" even the touring cars don't have "weight". Driving model is very tail happy. It's a bit too arcady imho. I feel like I'm playing DIRT.... I can drift around every corner without losing time.

Been playing all day today through the single player with a friend, we normally both drive rf2 as our main sim and after a few small tweaks to the ffb and steering settings we had an absolute blast playing GASport.
Theres no denying that its simcade but more sim leaning than i was expecting, i was noticing some naughty spots on some tracks in rf2 are just as naughty if attacked hard in GASport. Its got its faults and i think its a bit cheeky/lazy shipping a title with blurred out unfinished cockpits and what they were thinking/smoking when they came up with those mirrors, or lack of blows my mind - luckily the hobby we love is full of talented and motivated modders who can hopefully tweak this title to perfection...2 days before the launch date I almost cancelled my order after reading some very bad reviews, i figured it would be another title that would sit unused on my steam/origin shelves...sometimes its great to be proved wrong.:)

Id say it does what it says on the tin, and for me it does it well

I have a set of CSR Elites with load cell. If you want them more sensitive meaning you want them lock up quicker you change the brake saturation setting in the controls menu. Higher is more sensitive.

In tooling around with my wheel settings and in game advanced wheel settings, I must say, the handing in this game is better than I expected and each car is nuanced to the point where you really notice it. No small feat!!

It takes a little work to get the right feel and all wheels may not give you that same vibe, but if you are used to them, the advanced settings should fix you up. I go into detail about my Fanatec settings on that dedicated thread.

For now, I wanted to share a clip of a video I recorded at Brands. This was a qualifying lap that was 3 seconds off the #1 position of the hardest AI. Yes, it feel that good. It's not the same as F1. I don't think it's as grippy (and it shouldn't be, since F1 is miles above other open wheel series' in terms of lap times). But in F1, all they had to concentrate on was one car. However, the feel is fantastic, especially in the touring and endurance cars. Hell...any car just about if good enough to enjoy.

And, for my money, they cockpit view is *much* more what it looks like in real life (with all the bumps and jostling) than the baby smooth cockpits or T-Cams of F1:

BTW, I uploaded a video that I recorded using the built in YouTube function in the game (like Dirt). All seemed ok...it confirmed it had been loaded to my account but nothing is there. I'm sure it's a server issue the Codies will sort out. It's a great feature. When I get it, I'll put it here so you can see how deceptive the videos look from T.V. cam, as it appears the car is sliding, but it's very tight. Almost as good as Race Pro, if not better due to the other graphical treats.

I can´t get a good feeling with my wheel. I used the same settings for older Codemaster titles but it doesn´t feel right. Maybe someone can share his/her settings?

Generally:

Brake Bias - 10% rear
DIff - 100% right
Downforce - 50%-80% right (20% at Indy)
Gear Ratio - Depends on Track
Suspension (front) - 60% right
Suspension (rear) - 80% right

Modified Settings. Had to get creative. All float and "drift" is gone and cars feel great. Almost like Race Pro. On Xbox. Firmware 706.

In-game settings
Stearing Deadzone 0%
Stearing Saturation 100%
Stearing Linearity +7
Throttle Deadzone 0%
Throttle Saturation 100%
Brake Deadzone 15%
Brake Saturation 100%

FF:
Vibration Strength 10%
Wheel Strength 100%
Wheel weight 100%

On the wheel settings
OPEN WHEEL:
Sensitivity (SEn): 800
Force feedback strength (FF): 100
Vibration strength (Sho): 100
Drift mode (dri): 1
ABS: 75
Linearity (Lin): 10
Deadzone (dEA): 000
Spring (SPr): 3
Damper (dPr): 3

NON OPEN WHEEL:
Sensitivity (SEn): 900
Force feedback strength (FF): 100
Vibration strength (Sho): 100
Drift mode (dri): 2
ABS: 75
Linearity (Lin): 10
Deadzone (dEA): 000
Spring (SPr): 3
Damper (dPr): 3

Explanations upon request. lol.

Good info Robert, surprised at your linearity setting there... I tried some different settings with that and when I went into the positive the steering became impossible. I guess your individual wheel settings make that possible with your CSR.

Every race I'm in, if there is qualifying then the front guys get miles ahead, I'm usually in the pack and there is usually 2-5 lead cars that pull away and get at least 5 seconds ahead in a 5-10 lap race, and theres always a small group out the back too.

However when ever there is no qualifying the pack will stay alot more bunched up, the fast guys have to work there way up to the front, and that usually takes a good 3-4 laps. So if you are only doing short races with no qualifying, you aren't really getting to see their full potential.

Also I have found if you stick to the race line, the AI will generally wait for a good moment to pass, its all about proper racing, block the inside line from them, make them go around the outside etc, most of the people who seem to complain about the AI are the guys who don't really drive that well, and don't understand real racing....

I want to share opinions about online races. This game is full of butchers that instead to race and follow a line, prefers to play the demolition derby, this is my case( the victim) and how much I hate these behaviours. If someone would share opinions about his personal experiences.

To be honest Luigi I have not taken part in a public lobby race for several years for that very reason. I stick to the League and Club races which are organised through here and have very strict rules on what is acceptable on track (and off) behaviour.

Had another go this morning just before ther cutoff and totally agree with you that the feeling of speed is fantastic . Have some wheel issues lot sort out as it's not quite right at the moment but made it into the top 3% before it was time to get off and got to work lol

I agree with you Peter and I know that be a part of a league for race is the best thing to do in these games, but what I will do if I would be codemasters is plan a penalizing system for strong accidents like the one used for corner cutting and I guess that someone before smash in your car will think two times
