Tried using the YouTube feature earlier and one video uploaded but the was a Racenet server issue for the second so I gave up after several attempts. A couple of things... Where the hell does it upload to? It never asked for my account details so I'm confused lol

Disappointed to note that it restricts you to very short clips though as I hoped it would be more extensive. It seems to indicate a maximum of a minute but it didn't seem to be a minute that it allowed me to upload, more like 30 seconds or so.

I got on for a couple of hours this evening and had a blast. Spent some time in the Formula B open wheeler at Istanbul (such a fantastic track and so happy to be able to race it again). Practice session, quali and two races which were massively fun. Won the first from third and the second was a reverse grid which I won after a run up through the field. Some good racing but need to up the Ai as only had it on medium.

Then had a run at The Autosport circuit, what a fantastic track... Awesome drive.

I was planning on a session with you @Robert Waddell but the dirty disk error started popping up again and I had to give up :(. That's a bit of a worry as if it is still happening when we are set for our club or league races it will completely mess it up for me and stop me from racing.

Does that error happen often or with other games? Would hate to have to see you return it for a new copy. Maybe there is a way to clean it? I have never had that error. Hmmm.

I have not been branching out to new tracks yet...there are so many I don't know where to start! What I have been doing is racking up money at Indy and testing various cars at good old Brands. I got to the point where I finished 7th in an IndyCar race on the "very hard" difficulty, and was proud of that. I guess that means I have dialed it in. All of the cars have been a blast to drive, but I have mainly tried the tier 1 and 2 cars in Endurance and the Cat 1, 2, and 3 in Touring. and the IndyCar. They have worked very hard to get these cars to feel very different yet get to roughly the same times. For instance, just try to go to Spa in a tier 1 Endurance Nissan, then try it again in a Nissan. Completely different. You have to master a totally different set of skills for each, but you can get to the same time eventually. Great fun. And I have not even scratched the surface. The Cat c touring cars remind me of the WTCC cars in Race Pro but on a much better game, of course. I only wish it had pits. Do some cars slide? Of course! But it's as if it's when they would in real life. Fantastic.

I don't think it's anything to do with the disc tbh. I've had a similar issue with all the CM games but not those from other manufacturers. Pretty sure it's a drive problem and something to do with their disc manufacturing processes. Strangely it only happened with the others in the first day of two, maybe because I then installed the games to the hdd which is what I'm doing with this one tomorrow (fingers crossed). If that doesn't work and it's a more serious problem I'll have to worry about that then

Arcade racers usually have rockets and guns, i don't see any rockets and guns:p

Yes it simcade and its very good at what it does. and there is nothing wrong with that.
Its got allot going for it. more than som egive it credit for.;)
The FFB is way better than i thought it would be
the cars handle way better than i though they would.
Yes its forgiving in its driving style but still a challenge
This tittle is a good stepping stone, if it was your first driving game it will be perfect stepping stone to converting over to a full sim like RF2 for example.

These are the kind of games that make the sim community stronger and bigger.
We have potential RD members driving these games now and want to take the next step to a full on sim.
We have seen this on the forum through the codies F1 games.
guys upgrade from a console to pc. Or buy a pc to try out a full sim, Its about how you drive not whether its simcade or sim.
Without these games the sim community will die plain and simple.

Drive it like a sim and its very rewarding. Turn of all the driving aides and some of the cars are allot harder to drive. hit the gas at the wrong time and your spinning round.
or you can drive it and just have fun. the game covers so many disciplines its just fun
great graphics and visual, lots of little details that shine (cars get scratched when you rub them)
drive some of the tracks in reverse (Really cool feature)
like with any game or sim there a feature that are great and some that are not so great but overall it ticks all the boxes.

Did i mention The FFB is ok. not fr2 standard but its still very good in telling you what the car is doing, it just lacks in the finer detail, but you can still balance the car in a nice arc through a bend. push a bit more and the rear steps out. keep pushing and you spin.
but you feel the basics of what the car is doing.
Racing against the Ai is a absolute blast very demanding at times. you tap them they will tap you back race clean and they race clean, leave the door open the dive up the inside.

Single player is great fun after 15 laps you are waisted,
ive only just dabbled in the cars but they are great fun, a car for every occasion.

Having driven sims and driven these kind of titles all i can say is it way better than say shift 2 (even with the community tyre patch).
I still drop into Dirt 2 for a fix every now and again these kind of games are fun,
rally cross and the baja races. (easy to drive but hard to drive fast great fun with friends)

Just take the game for what it is and enjoy it for what it is.

Good fun with friends.. 9/10 on my scale
At the end of the day if your not having fun no matter how good the sim or game is you don't play it.

So true. Good assessment. This game is pretty deep. Yes there are flaws...and if you just get on without working on your wheel and fine tuning and pick the wrong car, then you will of course feel like it's crap. But it's not. Once dialed in, it's close to Race Pro handling with better AI, stunning graphics (comparatively) and a huge assortment of tracks and cars, each of which have different handing characteristics..

I think there will be a true leaderboard section that they will patch in once the Time Trial is up and running as a separate entity. I think you can go to a time trial race now, but not just a time trial mode to try and set fast laps and tweak. That's what we need on-line.

I think the YouTube ting was only meant to be a snippet. What I'm miffed about is that you can't replay or save the replay of your on line race in T/V mode view. I guess you would have to record it from the cockpit like we do F1.
I can't say I blame them for limiting the YouTube length and resolution. That can get massively taxing to transfer, I would imagine. But yea, you do have to go to racenet and be linked up your YouTube account and your Race net account under settings, in upper right. They may both even have to be logged on to make the thing work. It's worked for me twice now. Keep at it. It's fun to catch that moment in time and upload it right then and there.

Im quite enjoying it so far :) Thanks for the little session earlier Robert and for putting me in the barrier lol The 14 car pile up was hilarious though
Looking a decent racer isn't it Boothy. I am really excited by the possibilities and so far have not noticed anything that needs patching in particular. Still early days for me as well and haven't even had an online race so far but really looking forward to a shed load of time in this game over the coming months. Just hope we can get a few more bodies interested over the next couple of weeks now
