If any of you guys are interested on Forza 4, I've created all the paint jobs from last seasons cars for Kelly Moss, just look at my gamertag: HRH 5 Racing and you can see some of my work and logos I've created. Thanks Robert for the kind comments. You rocked at Rd. Atlanta, 12th to 6th. and with the drivers you were competing you did a great job.

Thanks Railer. That paint made me faster, I swear.
Seriously, I think the new console helps people who have raced. (Being at Road Atlanta didn't hurt either...I always feel I can podium there in a *fair* race with anybody). The closer these games get to feeling like real race cars, the faster I go. Of course, it's also gaming experience, but I put that down to about 20% since I still struggle with the newer games that are still basically arcade (F1 2014 & Autosport). One of these days (pCARS hopefully), the pad will be obsolete for racing on the console and real experience will count much more. A lot of those guys had traction control. As you know Railer, whenever you hear gamers say "you are faster without TC" it's a lie. There is a good reason it is banned in most major racing series'. As for games, take a look at the Forza leaderboards. Assetto has resisted it and I'd love to know if it gives cars an advantage in the real SIM gamers on PC, since it should. When they "turned it off" of Top Gear, if was not so much to go faster, but to compare the car and not the electronics, which I get. I'm sure Ben Collins would say the same thing.

Hi all, does anyone have settings for the thrustmaster tx wheel? I have searched this thread and found a few settings but the steering always feels weird.
Or can someone please explain to me what these settings actually mean, saturation! linearity! So I can set the wheel up for myself
I have found this from code masters themselves :-

Explanation of the Advanced Wheel Settings...

Dead Zone
This setting can be used to create a dead area around the centre of the wheel. If you feel the steering is too twitchy, increase this setting to increase the size of the dead zone. Note that a higher Linearity value (see below) may give a more desirable effect than increasing the dead zone, so consider trying that before increasing the dead zone.

Saturation
This alters the amount that you have to turn the wheel to make the car turn. Increase this if you feel the steering is too sensitive. Reduce this if you feel that you have to move the wheel too much to get around the corners.

Linearity
This dampens the information received from the inputs made upon the wheel and what you see in-game. Increase this if you are finding steering too responsive. Decrease this if you feel the steering is too sloppy.

I take it this is right

Hi all,
further from my last post about the tx wheel, I started the game and adjusted my wheel settings in game, and hey presto the wheel felt great, I was able to put in consistent laps, so I thought great I wont have to bother with that again, so I shut down the game and on starting up again the settings felt terrible again, the only conclusion I can come to is that the game doesn't save the settings :(
And now I cant seem to find the same settings again

Had my first attempts here yesterday and boy what a great track.. Whatever criticism gets levelled at CM they have really given us some fantastic tracks over the years and this one is no exception

Found the very hard AI to be not too much different to the hard here. Qualifying is as always the main difference maybe about 1.4 seconds but in race trim that's down to around 6/tenths or so.

Had some fun 5 lap races culminating in the 10 lapper I have put here. Best lap of 1:18.2. No levelling on this car so ran all practices with the default tune. Main issue is under braking as you will see with it being very easy to lock up into the tighter turns with no tuning. Also gears would be much better tuned, I found when going from 2nd to 3rd out of the slower turns the car would want to break loose if not very careful so having to hold 2nd for longer than I would like, there's a clear puff of smoke in the video whenever that happens.

The AI are fun to race here but be aware of their tendency to lose it going over the hill at turn 1.

Peter,
I think the difference with these cars and tin tops is throttle and instant acceleration combined with torque. I've noticed that also when shifting from 2-3 gear the back end wants to step out on you. That can be sorted by easing on the throttle not instant 100% throttle. Will be a fun track and I hope to get some seat time in before the race.

Couldn't agree more Railer and it's exacerbated with these Formula B cars which are quite twitchy at times. Love them though and when you get in a rhythm they are so much fun to drive.

The problem for me was out of the right handed corner that leads onto the long straight and then the penultimate tight right hander. But like you say good throttle control and patience are the key although lengthening my gears has helped as it allows me to stay in second longer and not feel the need to get up to third as early.
