Congratulations October for making podium I'm guessing the 1st race. Karl incredible race very consistent lap times and speeds thru corners. I don't know how much of a lead you had in the race but I didn't see anyone near you at all Karl.
Watts that was a ballsy move I tried on October during practice and I knew it would be tough to make it stick with having to move back right after turn 1 and get setup for turn 2. Looks like you had cold tires and slid it around. Good job finishing the race.

Indianapolis Stock Car Race
@Peter Hooper, can I ask a favor? I completely forgot how this race wet down or even if it did at all. Can you do your best to reconstruct the standings for the race here, and then the overall. Thanks.
If that was the one on the 31st January I wasn't available for it (wife's birthday) but from what I recall it was abandoned due to low turnout and was going to be rescheduled.

I've done the standings based on that and given Karl the extra point for fastest lap in race 2.

Yeah I know Eddie Helmet... he's one of my distant Cousins from the UK, LoL :p or so he says he is of the Watts clan. I thought I was going to run better at this race, but as luck would have it I misjudged a few corners and wah-la I was done ! Anyway I loved the track, just not the cars per say. Moving on to Laguna Seca in Shift and then to Dubai.

Thanks for the fun run out guys, really enjoyed this track and these cars. Never quite recaptured Friday mornings form after a couple of days on family stuff and forgetting I needed to level up some more for the gears but happy with running second to Karl in both races.

First race I had a lot of fun running behind Robert for the first few laps after Michael went into the wall on the opening lap. Even though I could see Karl opening up a gap that would be hard to close. Had a couple of looks at passing attempts but decided discretion was the better part of valour in this case and keeping both our cars intact was more sensible so just kept it clean and bided my time for an opening. It duly came when Rob hit the wall on the outside of one of the right-handers and bounced off to the right leaving me a nice gap and I was through and after Mr Fuss. Robert kept close for a couple of laps but then I pulled away and could see he was soon going to have a battle with Michael on his hands. All was going smoothly until I had a mad moment in the tunnel and went straight into the wall damaging my steering but worst of all my engine. After reversing back into the race I held my 2nd place but with both now bearing down quickly as I adjusted to the broken car. With three laps to go I thought it might be tough to hold on with the car running on low power, I think their battle probably helped me and I came home safely in 2nd despite struggling last lap.

Second race was fun running behind Karl initially, I did get ahead of him into turn 4(ish) but the long gears meant my acceleration was not the best and he was able to get back by me. Michael also got past shortly after and the three of us run line astern for a while before Michael veered to the right on one of the early laps and went into the wall and I was able to squeeze past. Ran close to Karl for a while but lost concentration talking about Downton Abbey and other crap :O_o: (Roberts ploy to put us off i'm sure!!) and fell back but with Michael and Robert some way adrift it was a comfortable drive:giggle: with just the lapping of cars to be aware of although most seemed to ghost out of the way. Ran clean right up until the last lap DOH!, staying around two corners adrift of Karl until closing on him and getting him in my sights for a while but he had enough to keep me at a safe distance.

Great fun and great circuit. Looking forward to Dubai which looks as though it could be a blast based on a few laps me, Robert and Michael run after Chicago last night.

Love the video's guys.. I finally broke down and bought a video capture device. It was only $50 USD, so we'll see if it actually works or not. I knew on the first race I hadn't completely cleared Karl (video confirmed) and was trying to give him as much room as possible and just pinched the car down too much. I still don't know what happened the second race other than the car just didn't turn and I managed to bounce it off both barriers. Oh well, that's what I get for trying to push it. Congrat's to Karl for being patient and effecient with that car. It obviously requires more skill than I possess, to drive it.

It's the rare person who can be fast in both the open wheel cars and the tin tops. Same for ovals and road courses, although less so, IMO. That's why I have such respect for drivers who have succeeded at both, like Montoya. When I say "succeed" I don't mean "accepted by NASCAR" or even win a bunch, but just be competitive, in a good car. As much as I can't stand some of the guys, I really admired what Kurt Busch did, but moreso people who have won championships in both types of cars/tracks, like Foyt and Andretti and Mansell.

After the post race chat about Grid on Sunday I had a look to see if it was available and was really surprised to see that it's still costing £14.99 as digital download and even buying it online its still no cheaper.. some are still charging full price for it!!

Probably be able to pick it up at a games store second hand for £3/4

The first Grid was my first racing game since F1 97 on the PS1. It's what got me back in to digital racing. A really good game.

I'm going to be on for the next 3-4 hours practicing, if any anyone wants to join. I was disqualified (no warning...nothing) after doing nothing illegal in F1 2014. What a complete joke that game is with regards to corner cutting and driving over the white exit line. Good move by not getting it Railer.
