You can cut the hell out of the first corner and the corner before the long straight, but if you go too far, its disaster, so the most I'll ever do intentionally is hit the bollard, which, thankfully for Karl, will not kill you. I still say you could get 50/50 tuning on everything and be fine here. That would take about 10 mins. online. I'll be on early to try and run some leveling sessions before the race if anyone wants to do this quickly. Try it in Custom Cup, I think it will work fine.

Just had a session, 20 minutes practice, 2 quali laps and an 8 lap race. Ten minutes on default and struggled to get into the 29's. Put in what I would go for in tuning and wow!! what a difference.. Immediately felt so nice through the esses and straight away into the 27's. Finished just a touch under 2 second faster than my non tuned best with a low 26 .

Did the 2 lap quali non tuned and back into the 28's  although it was quick enough for pole against hard ai.

Had quite a fun race, held the lead but lost it in the esses with the car sloshing all over the show but grabbed it back into the turn before the long straight. Stayed out front for the remaining laps although never quite got away from the car behind holding a gap of around 2 seconds for most of it. Took the win and finally broke into the 27's but nowhere close to my tuned time.

Tune would be:-
0
+50
-20
-50
+70
+50

But I think I'll go with:-
0
0
0
0
0
0

 lol

Just completed the second race, starting from the back of the grid after win in the first race (reverse grid) and boy did I just have a blast. I love the ai here and would welcome them tomorrow.

Couldn't make any places up at the start, just bided my time, sticking close and took one place into the right-hander after the long straight and then a few by taking a different line into the tough left-hander before the multi-apex turn towards the end of the lap.

Over the next 4 or 5 laps managed to pick off a car or two each lap to move up into 4th before one of the ai spun at the end of the esses handed me 3rd place on about lap 6. Another overtake into the tight left before the multi apex corner and I'm on the tail of the leader. Followed him around the following lap before making a move at the end of the long straight and nipped inside, held the line and I'm in the lead. Pulled away slightly, lead up to 4 seconds before a little error saw it close back down to a couple but crossed the line with the win again. Probably the most satisfying result I've had in this game  Best lap of 27.8.

Wow, Nice race Peter. I've put over 80 laps in this car on this track, and I've yet to break into the 25's, Railer. I'm running consistent 26's right now, but the car is very predictable. Guess I'll just try and hold her steady and hope for the best and maybe a little luck.
As far format, I would love to see a Standing Start in the random grid Sprint Race, then reverse the finishing order for the start of the 2nd Race and have a Pace Lap. That would be interesting. LoL. May not be a popular idea, but it would be fair to the guys that have troubles in the Sprint Race. Starting with a Pace Lap the fastest guy from the Sprint Race will still be able to slice through the field passing cars one by one while still giving the slower drivers from the first race a better chance of getting a decent race in. But that's just my two cents.

Like Boothy I may not be able to make it now. One of my daughters and her boyfriend are here on a last chance visit before Christmas. Just had dinner and about to settle down to a few drinks and time with them. No idea what time they are going to be leaving, don't think it will be to late due to work tomorrow but no guarantee it'll be in time for me to race. If they are gone by nine or shortly after I'll jump on even if it's only for the second one but if not have fun

Hope you can make it Peter. I have a house full of neighborhood kids, I might have to mute my mic, but they won't stop me from racing.
Looking unlikely, still here and things are not looking like stopping anytime soon. If it was any of the girls that I see more regularly I would still jump on and race but won't see her again for some time so want to make the most of it, especially at Christmas time.

I'll still jump on if they go anytime in the next half hour to forty minutes just in case things started later then expected.

Otherwise, have fun at the track :) and see you back on the grid in the New Year.

Went fairly smooth after we dumped the AI, Missed you both @Matthew Booth and @Peter Hooper, would have been nice to have a few more drivers out there. I love COTA, but Railer took me to school in the second race. Anyways good race with you guys. Karl impressed the hell out of me running very competitively without a tune on his car. Peter you would have done fairly well I think. Oh well, onto the Indy Cars. Robert I hope everything is ok, I'm assuming you unplugged your mic due to your wheel issues.

Finally got on around 10:45 but race was already on so hope it all went smoothly

Peter:
Sorry you had to miss this one bud. I think you and Karl could have had a pretty good dice. Karl was keeping up with the front two pretty well. I, on the other hand, just seem to never run well on this track, no matter what kind of car I'm in. Even with the tune, the rear end always wanted to swap ends at the exit of every tight turn it seemed. Oh well. Railer and Michael had great races, as I expected.

Since the A.I. basically were just getting in the way, I took them out of the second race. I think the consensus is no A.I. and standing starts. No grid reversal because we do not have qualifying, and it gives the winner of the sprint race a better shot at that fastest lap. There just too much carnage potential to penalize the 1st race winner in a long, bonus points for fast lap, second race. But I don't think many like the A.I. unless we are running on our own. They don't seem to be of any use when you are battling with a live person, because they are so heavy.

I'll get my first race video up, which had some good battles with the A.I. for next to last place. At least that kept me entertained. On to Indy. That really should be interesting.

darn, my video's aren't that great. I usually focus the camera near the top so the light balance is good, but i forgot there is the inside of the car roof at the top of the screen.... too black, and it makes for poorly contrasted videos.... will upload anyway i guess
