The Drag Pack adds an authentic way to experience the thrill of drag racing to GRID Autosport. Player reactions and their ability to control a car as huge amounts of power are released under acceleration are put to the test in this unique form of motorsport. The new game mode recreates the pressure, excitement and tactical depth of drag racing.

The Drag Pack features three custom drag strips at the Hockenheimring, the Autosport Raceway and Detroit, each featuring routes of up to a mile. Players will also receive three blisteringly fast drag cars to master, nine new Single Player Championships (including practice, qualifying and knockout races) and an online multiplayer mode. In addition to racing the new cars in the pack – a Hot Rod and two Funny Cars which will reach speeds of over 300 m.p.h. - players can also race the vast majority of the cars featured in GRID Autosport, including the game’s Hypercars and Supercars.

Each vehicle that takes part in the Drag Racing mode can be custom tuned prior to the race, for example, gear ratios can be tweaked for optimal acceleration or a higher top speed. Gamers then complete an authentic staging process as they go head-to-head with an opponent. Fast reactions are critical to get the best possible start. Once underway, players must then time their gear changes carefully to achieve peak acceleration. In addition to timing gear changes, players will also have to contend with torque steer, which requires counter steering to correct it. Each race is a tense and thrilling contest where timing, technique and nerves of steel are rewarded.

Yea, I'm pretty much finding the same section to be difficult. This is a deceptive track because it's no fast. You think you are blazin' but then you look at your times and you suck. At least I do. I did have one fast lap against very hard A.I. but that was just a quirk I think. I can only manage mid pack at best against them.

My setup is a little different than yours Peter. Sounds about the same except for the springs. For this track, I found softer springs to be faster, for some reason. I usually go with hard. I think the sweepers here pose too much of a danger of sliding too much on the hard.

I had another 20 minute practice session earlier going with the default setup but with springs set at 50 and this was the most consistent run of laps I have had. Fully default wasn't far off but I prefer the feeling of the stiffer springs hence that change.

I still didn't quite get into the 1:29's but consistent 1:30's were the order of the day so I'll settle on that. I've finally got a better handle on the off camber hairpin and braking and the correct turn in for turn 4 are so important as you can lose a lot of time scrambling around there.

I'll be having another half hour in the morning and will try to fit in a 20 lapper on Friday morning if as planned I take the day off for a test of F1 2014.

Peter:

Well then you need to show me how. I'll follow. I'll be on the box at 7:30am your time and we can go directly to two 10 lappers against very hard A.I. They might teach us a thing or two also.

I'll do the same the next morning. I have Friday off if anyone wants to level up.

Well me and 14 AI were sat waiting on the grid but no Mr Waddell.. They were not happy bunnies and gave me a love tap into turn one to let me know lol

Pretty much set on my setup now, @karl Fuss if you can just get to the 50% of levelling up that's all you'll need here, it's more about cornering technique than setup I've found. After fiddling quite a bit with the setups in my sessions this week and going back to the defaultI find that is just about right with slight tweak to suspension for my preference.

This morning was definitely the most consistent session I have had . After a few 1:31's at the start I was bang on the 1:30's lap after lap but just kept missing out on the 1:29's. The last two turns are the ones that I now need to work on as I am sure they are keeping me in the 1:30's rather than hitting the 1:29 nirvana lol.

I really don't see the same sort of behaviour as often as you guys seem to. I have had some really exciting races with them and from my point of view I find for the most part if I place my car carefully and accurately the AI are pretty good at avoiding contact. Of coursed there are times when stuff happens, mainly at the faster corners on street circuits but I enjoy the AI for th most part.

Online however I find them to be more aggressive than offline, especially on the tighter circuits like San Francisco and Paris.
