AMS2 Fake 24 Hours of Hockenheim - Friday May 20, 2022

After the huge success of the Fake 24 Hours of Spa last week we are continueing this week with the Fake 24 Hours of Hockenheim. A one hour race with GT1 cars with time acceleration of 25x simulates more or less a 24 Hours race with changeable conditions, great sceneries and great camaradery with the other drivers on Discord.

Wether you are new to simracing or a seasoned veteran, this is a race open to all skill levels and we want to race you, so join us by signing yourself up in the comments below.

Strategy for me last time out at Spa with the Mercedes was starting on soft tires with 80 liters in the tank. Made a pitstop around halfway for new tires and 40 liters (Filling 40L takes the same amount of time as changing the tires)

Right after some testing in the snail division I have come to the conclusion that I will drive the MCPorscheBenz

Allowing for a bit extra, I'm going with 32 laps at 5.3ltr/lap. This equates to 170ltrs total so I'm starting with a full tank = 100ltrs and refueling with 70ltrs and changing tyres. In the Merc that is.

Also is there a way so that there are more time left on the server after the race has finished so people have time to download the replay for example ? Like mentioned in the Spa-thread the server basically closed as soon as I was able to press the button for saving the replay.

I have a question, the last curve into the stadium has a broken White line before the right hander but the AI didn't go over it and nor did the Porsche onboard in the video. When I have been practicing on the server, there is no warning about going as far left as possible?

The track limits sometimes are a bit weird, at Spa for example you could get a penalty for cutting La Source too sharply, though it is all kerb and if you are beyond the kerb you hit the pit wall... I think they recently updated that but I am not sure. Same is true for other tracks so hey, make the most of it!
