Well, there you go again.
Where did I say "everyone else is idiots or I know best?" Come on, quote the lines. Its easy enough to do. Or are you making an assumption based on a few lines of text?
How many posts have I put up saying I have done this another way and it works better? Only now have I mentioned that I have done similar things before, and even in that post, did I say it works better or just said that I have done it. I even hinted at the fact that I know how hard it is. How does that make me a smartass? As for being rude, I would say calling someone a smartasss has that effect wouldnt you? Or maybe its lost in translation.

I may not have english as my main language but I can certainly read between the lines, read my post again, I said that to me if FELT like your opinion was just that...

And no, I don't live in a perfect bubble, I'm just dealing with the one I got :)

Anyhow, I have no wish to offend anyone, I'm still having fun driving in this league, so I shut up about this matter now and move on. It's not really my place to do anyway, I'm not an admin of this league. So if you feel offended about what I said I can apologise to you for that, no problem.

andy, sure you can express your opinion, but just do it with civility, no need for those snappy remarks. We need to keep a friendly atmosphere here.

As for mismatched drivers. No matter how the hotlaps are done, it will always be just a few guys fighting for wins per league. We tried to put the field as tight as possible together, and I believe it largely succeeded. Sadly we were very limited by the 11 drivers per league imposed by the game. Sure, the top guys of L2 could be competitive in L1, same goes for top guys in L3 being competitive with slower guys in L2. We can't all fight for wins, as much as we'd all love to.

Okay, fair point on the first one Steve.
As Ive already said, its extremely frustrating when dc's occur and you are waiting for a restart that never happens, but thats going over old ground.

But, I think we have to agree to disagree on the mismatched drivers.
I personally think the original hot laps should have been done on 2 dry tracks, not one wet one dry.
That would create an even platform for drivers to set their hot laps on.
Im quite sure that some racers are far better than others in the wet. When you take into consideration pc specs etc, it may even be more difficult to race in the wet on one persons pc setup than another.
The same is true in real life, some drivers genuinely are quicker than others in the wet.
At the end of the day, how many races throughout the season will be wet? I really dont mind racing at the back of a grid. What I do miss though is racing with even paced racers so that you are actually racing rather than a procession round a track with 20 seconds in front or behind you. Thats just not racing.

Well here is the video of both incidents I have been accused of causing, watch it and decide for yourself, driver error on the other persons part or unsportsman like conduct on mine?

You choose but from where I am sitting it's pretty clear cut..!

I don't use rear view nor the mini map as it's not authentic

Wel you should mate. You can't see anything in the mirrors and I see no arrows at your screen so how can you know who's behind you if you even don't look behind. You see this pole fliyng at 1:14 at the video? Well I was at your inside but you can't know or notice that because you see nothing what happens at your side and you just shut the door. I think you should race with minimap and arrows. Not for you but for the safety of other drivers mate. If i would know that you ar enot using minimap and arrows than I would never took that risk but how can I know you don't use that? Still no good video what prove you're right mate.

At 2:45 you see my wing in the bottom left corner and shut the door just untill the curbs and you know I'm there so why you do not leave any space? You touched my wheel there and I get a drive through penalty for causing a coullisions which is nonsens.

PS:If you see that pole fliyng, well that was me on the inside on you clearly shut the door !

Yeah I see the bollard fly at 1:14, what do you want me to do leave the door open and wave you through, erm no you've got to earn that.

Get real, you obviously have no real racing experience at all otherwise you would know I'm well within my right to close a door, and I was on the racing line, you have to try and pass me remember, I'm not supposed to let you through.

My advice to you is to go study some racing videos on YouTube as you clearly think everyone should let you through. If you were safely up the inside of me and if it meant contact then I would leave room but you weren't so stop whining and just accept you couldn't pull off a move, you were closed out and you didn't like it, tough that's racing and if you can't accept hard but fair racing then reconsider competing in these events!

And your comment about the rear view etc, I don't need it, what's in my mirrors is all I need to know about, it's up to everyone else to think, hmmm has he seen me and be cautious which is how I approach all of my races, your responsible for your own moves not anybody else, if they don't work go blame yourself not others but I will not make passing me easy for anyone, I'll be fair but tough.

it's true the singapore wet hotlaps were a big performance differentiator (if thats even a word lol). Then again doing hotlaps on selected tracks will always favor some over others. For instance I love racing at Monaco and Suzuka and consider myself quite fast there, I dislike tracks like China and Budapest and am slower. I'll be lower on the grid depending on which tracks we choose. There's always some mismatch, unless we do hotlaps for all 19 GPs lol

Thing is if for instance you were dropped down a league now, you might be dominating there, which in turn puts slower drivers there in the same position you are in now. I see how it must be frustrating for you but it's hard to get around this problem at this instant.

Of course this is the 1st league organized by these guys and it's a learning process for everyone. They've been doing a great job so far but I'm sure for season 2 it'll be easier to reduce the mismatch, perhaps take results in season 1 into account and such.

Untill I leave (scheduled for August) I'll gladly attend any race I can as it seems y'all don't mind. However I doubt it'll be possible for me to race in Nigeria, I'm gonna be in a rural area, (not in a hut lol, in a decent housing facility with internet at home) but I very much doubt It'll be a good enough connection to allow me to race without dc-ing all the time and having massive lag. Will test it tho, you never know ;)

I've got my view, you have yours, enough has been said now, it's a racing incident, it happens, always has and always will, its the nature of the sport. Pointless to keep going over and over this, just put it down to experience and at least you'll be a bit more cautious now when trying to overtake people.

If you had a penalty for contact with me well it is what it is, you should have backed out of the throttle and got on my rear and followed me into the Maggots and Beckets complex and tried a move there or coming out of there ... your move was never going to pay off as running along side the grass on the pit straight is the normal racing line and that's the line I took lap after lap.

I think I have much more racing experience than you mate, but that is not the point. If you do that in real racing with a real F1 car you'd be disqualyfied by the stewards for making such a much and leaving no space. You do not have to let me trough but you can leave some space, don't you?

No I don't think I have to leave you any space at all, you were not in a position for me to need to leave you any space, if you were that would be a different story.

The fact that you are 19 and I'm nearly 31 leads me to believe I do have a LOT more racing experience than you as I was in a kart before you were born and experience goes a LONG way no matter what.

I'm leaving it there now, you can say what you like, however the evidence from my part is in my video, if you have one then please share it and prove me wrong, if not, enough said.

And no, you wouldn't racing in the past few years has proven this, and a LOT this year.

We all know that 2 flying hotlaps werent ideal for league placement, but it seemed a resonable way to sort leagues out in a fairly short period of time. BUT, thats the situation and we are 8 races deep into the season, the leagues recently enjoyed a re-shuffle and we must move forward from this now.

I understand that the connection drops, the host getting more than one chance, slightly mis-matched racers, racing incidents are all gonna be talking points, but we must try and be constructive with these discussions, realise that we cant go back and change things, only use this experience to improve things for next time. Allowing discussions on these matters to deteriorate into non-constructive 'arguments' doesnt really help the cause, and if anything actually impact the league more negatively than the matter in-hand.
Im also very certain that this sort of thing is likely to make the League Organisers either want to just walk away, or at the very least not do another one, and the majority of racers here dont want to see that happen.

I know that sometimes its difficult to get ones point across on the forum. When you labour a point, it can be interpreted badly, even if you have the best of intentions at the start. It is up to the individual to decide whether they can deal with things how they are now, and where a sensible point to step away from the discussion and drop the matter is.

As flawed as people may think the rules are, they are consistent rules and therefore it is a level playing field.
