it's true the singapore wet hotlaps were a big performance differentiator (if thats even a word lol). Then again doing hotlaps on selected tracks will always favor some over others. For instance I love racing at Monaco and Suzuka and consider myself quite fast there, I dislike tracks like China and Budapest and am slower. I'll be lower on the grid depending on which tracks we choose. There's always some mismatch, unless we do hotlaps for all 19 GPs lol
Thing is if for instance you were dropped down a league now, you might be dominating there, which in turn puts slower drivers there in the same position you are in now. I see how it must be frustrating for you but it's hard to get around this problem at this instant.
Of course this is the 1st league organized by these guys and it's a learning process for everyone. They've been doing a great job so far but I'm sure for season 2 it'll be easier to reduce the mismatch, perhaps take results in season 1 into account and such.
We all know that 2 flying hotlaps werent ideal for league placement, but it seemed a resonable way to sort leagues out in a fairly short period of time. BUT, thats the situation and we are 8 races deep into the season, the leagues recently enjoyed a re-shuffle and we must move forward from this now.
I understand that the connection drops, the host getting more than one chance, slightly mis-matched racers, racing incidents are all gonna be talking points, but we must try and be constructive with these discussions, realise that we cant go back and change things, only use this experience to improve things for next time. Allowing discussions on these matters to deteriorate into non-constructive 'arguments' doesnt really help the cause, and if anything actually impact the league more negatively than the matter in-hand.
Im also very certain that this sort of thing is likely to make the League Organisers either want to just walk away, or at the very least not do another one, and the majority of racers here dont want to see that happen.
I know that sometimes its difficult to get ones point across on the forum. When you labour a point, it can be interpreted badly, even if you have the best of intentions at the start. It is up to the individual to decide whether they can deal with things how they are now, and where a sensible point to step away from the discussion and drop the matter is.
As flawed as people may think the rules are, they are consistent rules and therefore it is a level playing field.
I may not have english as my main language but I can certainly read between the lines, read my post again, I said that to me if FELT like your opinion was just that...
And no, I don't live in a perfect bubble, I'm just dealing with the one I got
Anyhow, I have no wish to offend anyone, I'm still having fun driving in this league, so I shut up about this matter now and move on. It's not really my place to do anyway, I'm not an admin of this league. So if you feel offended about what I said I can apologise to you for that, no problem.
Yeah, neither does it work when your car has no front wheels!
To correct you, it was the BMW Sauber girls that took my attention - wonder who put them there!
I
Matt - how many hard drives do you have? Are you recording onto the same hard drive / partition as your F1 install or O/S?
If you are, it may be worth investing in a new HD solely for Frapsing/Afterburning.
Running O/S, F1 and writing data to the same HD at the same time is fairly demanding.
can someone explain this computer noob what O/S? is?
I have 2 hard drives, but I installed afterburner on the same HD as formula 1, but I'm recording onto a different hard drive? that's the problem??
