@christian, wow great job:)

@bill, you're right the best angle would be from my car, and whatever I do to get a higher fps( in-game), It doesn't help. I use afterburner and I set the quality to 30%(!) and I set the fps to 20(in afterburner), I put the graphics in game on low and guess what: my fps(in-game) is only 35??

I bought a reasonably good computer last year:

processor: intel core i7 cpu 920 @ 2,67 GHz
Ram: 6 GB
graphics card: ati radeon 5790

this should be good enough?????????????

Hey guys,

Still about 4 more players short. Wanna wait one more week to see if we can get 4 more or just get started?

I run a business which keeps me quite busy so will be limited in how much time I can allocate to scoring, etc. Do we even need scoring?

Anyhow, I say we just get into it and try it and refine the set up as we go. Suck it and see. Unless we happen to start WW3 I can't see how we have anything to lose.

Will set a time and date shortly. I usually have about 2 hours max per session on a weekend so should be able to get a qualli and 50% race in within that time.

BTW - these rock.
http://www.wheelstandpro.com.au/

I use one with my G25 folds away and my wife let's me keep it in the living room folded up, fits in neatly next to the TV cabinet.

We will make sure that we get people online at least 20 mins before start cos even I haven't set one up before. I think I need to manually invite everyone at least for the first set up so make take a few minutes.

Oh on communication - does everyone have a headset? Will be hard to communicate without. I'll pick up one of the sony bluetooth headsets this week.

Race ya soon.

Sam

yeah guys... am still on a controller..
so tc on plss.. and auto gears too if possible... rest all ok

wen do we start..
am OOF comin weekend and would hate to miss out...

Cheers

yea guys I apologize for my very poor attendance record. I've already informed the organizers of my intention to retire from the league. While my previous no shows were unrelated, my attendance won't get any better as I got a new job...at first sight that shouldn't be an issue but the slight problem with continuing to play online is that the job is in Nigeria so as you can imagine the interwebz won't exactly be up to par there lol

Again, very sorry I'm that gaping empty spot on your races, hope you continue to have good fights to determine a WDC for group 1! I'll probably remain at my post as a steward so don't think you're off the hook! ;)

So, you are voluntering to be host then ? Since it seems to be an issue for you that the host would have some kind of immunity here, then that would solve your problem...of course you have to be there for every race, have a stable connection and deal with people demanding restarts in mid qualifying, but that no problem, right ?

I'm getting a bit tired of this so I suggest you either take over the administration of the leagues or start your own. It is clear to me that you know how everything should be done and would not make any misstakes what so ever and everybody joining would be happy with your perfect league.

All I hear is a lot of whining about your disconnect and trying to make your arguement that it's "common sense", how about all the other drivers that have set a time and now have to do it again ?
Should there be restart after restart until next morning ? No, the line has to be drawn somewhere and one restart is how it is now, regarding your other complaints about mismatched drivers, well that is a diffrent matter and I'm sure the admins will think hard and long about how to do this and other things for 2011 leagues. (if they still are willing to put down this much time again, that is...)

Sorry if I come across as cranky or overstepped my bounderys here but I felt I had to say something :)

Hi Jan

As a matter of fact, yes, you do come over very cranky  As for boundaries, thats for someone else to say.

I have every right to try and get my points across, the same as you or anyone else who races in this league. If it wasnt for feedback, positive or negative, nothing would improve would it?

Its not clever making assumptions about people you dont know.
You can quite easily make yourself look foolish.
I would have been more than happy to host. I have no problem with my internet connection. I run a dedicater rFactor and a Ventrillo server from my home connection with no problems. I have a wealth of experience running racing leagues. Creating my own league websites/forums, and have done so for several years. So, in response to your petty comments like "start your own or do you know how much work goes into it", there's your answer.
And, before you point it out, yes, I have missed a few races so far this season due to declining interest from my perspective: see point re mismathced drivers.

As for hearing me whining, if you dont like it, DONT READ IT.Simple. You carry on living in your perfect little bubble.....

Well, now back home (work actually) and everything back to normal. Just had a bit of a health scare with one of the family but nowhere near as bad as first thought...all good !

That's pretty good aussie lingo there boys...last night i also had to "throw me shiela in the ute and hit the frog and toad"!
(for a translation see google) :)

All joking aside im glad this scare isnt as scary as it seemed at first. As Justin says, hope to see you back on track soon playa!

Right, back to work for me - im mad as a cut snake, crikey im like a lizard in here - flat out trying to sort this dogs breakfast. Im sure she'll be apples. Right after this smoko and brew - Im as dry as a pommy's towel!

U pushed me off the track an the turn 8 on brake zone, after that you didn't let me to pass and both of u( you and Joery) are overtaked me.
I remember of that situation,I was 2nd u 3rd, behind u was Joery and Andrew on 5th place.

Well I'll fish out another video clip later, this really is starting to bug me now, I've been racing all my life in Karts competing in championships and I do this online as a hobby, I am the first person to complain about unsportsmanlike conduct and I race how I expect to be raced against, I never have and won't gift anyone an easy pass within the rules.

I am a fair racer but I also push the limits, I don't think I pushed you off the track at all, here is another case of someone else getting it wrong and looking for an excuse, if it was in a braking zone then unless you were passed me I have the right to defend my line and position and during that race I had physical contact with nobody, nor did I weave or swerve as I've said.

I myself don't like being "hit" however there are a lot of occasions where I've gone for a pass that didn't pay off and I've ended up on the grass or worse, it's racing it happens. Also remember I can't see behind me very well, the view in my video is what I saw all race, I don't use rear view nor the mini map as it's not authentic, I raced fair and square yesterday as I've already proved someone's accusations as incorrect, if you want me to disprove yours as well I will.

Anyone who races here and complains about someone else's conduct needs to first ask themselves a question, was it a fair move, did he know I was there, did he swerve or weave to hit me and take me off or was I just trying something that was a little risky and possibly going for a gap that was either going to naturally disappear or just wasn't there to start with.

I will probably ask myself whether I'm going to race on this forum again as I really can't be bothered with all the moans and groans, feels like an F1 stewards board is hammering at me.

I'll fish out some more video later and post it for your viewing pleasure.

For those who I raced against, thanks it was a good but lonely race, to the two complaint-ants I suggest you go study your race craft before making more wild accusations about another drivers conduct as it really ruins their experience, practice races are your best option, mostly trying overtaking manoeuvres so you get it spot on, and at least when the AI stop you getting past you can moan at them or maybe Codemasters, good luck.

Stu

andy, sure you can express your opinion, but just do it with civility, no need for those snappy remarks. We need to keep a friendly atmosphere here.

As for mismatched drivers. No matter how the hotlaps are done, it will always be just a few guys fighting for wins per league. We tried to put the field as tight as possible together, and I believe it largely succeeded. Sadly we were very limited by the 11 drivers per league imposed by the game. Sure, the top guys of L2 could be competitive in L1, same goes for top guys in L3 being competitive with slower guys in L2. We can't all fight for wins, as much as we'd all love to.

I should have the footage up by the weekend tops. Got the Valencia re run tonight, so lord knows if there might be more interesting footage to sort out :D

Matt - how many hard drives do you have? Are you recording onto the same hard drive / partition as your F1 install or O/S?
If you are, it may be worth investing in a new HD solely for Frapsing/Afterburning.
Running O/S, F1 and writing data to the same HD at the same time is fairly demanding.

Andy, I never said you can't or should not make your voice heard if there is something you feels is wrong. What I reacted on was the general tone in you comments, to me it felt like "everybody else is idiots and I know best" so that is why my response was a bit cranky.
If you really want your point to be heard it's usually not good to start by being rude...

So you are running this and that, fine, that only makes it even more unneccecary to be a smartass about it. Then you already should know that nothing is perfect on the first try and this is especially true with this game.

Why would it make me look foolish when in fact that was just what you were doing yourself in several of your posts ? You simply assumed that no one ever discussed the problems with disconnects, restarts and drivers beeing in the "wrong" league.
So, you are right in one thing, it's bad to make assumptions when you don't know the other persons.

PersonallyI would prefer it if you could turn up for the races your able to attend, that way you still get to participate and we get to play with you more than we normally would. Plus its easier than finding a replacement.

Well, there you go again.
Where did I say "everyone else is idiots or I know best?" Come on, quote the lines. Its easy enough to do. Or are you making an assumption based on a few lines of text?
How many posts have I put up saying I have done this another way and it works better? Only now have I mentioned that I have done similar things before, and even in that post, did I say it works better or just said that I have done it. I even hinted at the fact that I know how hard it is. How does that make me a smartass? As for being rude, I would say calling someone a smartasss has that effect wouldnt you? Or maybe its lost in translation.

How about putting some reserve drivers for group 1 then? I believe the ARL has plenty of reserve drivers too. That way they just play if there is place and we at least get a full grid. Steve could then keep playing if he wishes...and some others as well. Don't forget we haven't seen or heard from Chris Butcher in a long while either.
