Of course this rule benefits the host...... He will never miss a race due to disconnection. He drops out, the session gets restarted. Seems like a pretty safe postion to be in to me.

Fair enough, if my connection had let me down and I dropped out, thats my loss. But when 2 dc at virtually the same time? Come on, thats down to the host/game/whatever, but not down to the players who dc. Common sense tells you that. Surely with a maximum of 11 racers online we want as many of those racing as possible?

Typically, this was the only chance I had to race all week, and managed to squeeze some practice in a couple of hours before the race. Only to be left staring at the screen wondering why the session wasnt restarted.

Mismatched drivers is a lot more of an issue than you accept. It can quickly become tedious driving round a track on your own lap after lap, knowing that guy in front or behind is never going to catch you.
There are guys 3 seconds a lap quicker than some in grp2 and that was around Montreal, a relatively short track. Hopefully next year, you will learn from the advance qualification sessions that this year has provided. There are obviously drivers who are poor and those who are superb in the wet.
That is where things got messed up. A wet race at Singapore was not the way to judge drivers over a 19 race season.

As for my comment re the rules, I take it back. I obviously misread the part about restarting the event once qualification starts. I guess I just scan read it assuming that logic would take priority in the event that disconnections would be restarted, just like at the start of the race. After all, surely race start positions cannot be retained in a new session unless I am missing something.

So, you are voluntering to be host then ? Since it seems to be an issue for you that the host would have some kind of immunity here, then that would solve your problem...of course you have to be there for every race, have a stable connection and deal with people demanding restarts in mid qualifying, but that no problem, right ?

I'm getting a bit tired of this so I suggest you either take over the administration of the leagues or start your own. It is clear to me that you know how everything should be done and would not make any misstakes what so ever and everybody joining would be happy with your perfect league.

All I hear is a lot of whining about your disconnect and trying to make your arguement that it's "common sense", how about all the other drivers that have set a time and now have to do it again ?
Should there be restart after restart until next morning ? No, the line has to be drawn somewhere and one restart is how it is now, regarding your other complaints about mismatched drivers, well that is a diffrent matter and I'm sure the admins will think hard and long about how to do this and other things for 2011 leagues. (if they still are willing to put down this much time again, that is...)

Sorry if I come across as cranky or overstepped my bounderys here but I felt I had to say something :)

Na thats fair enough Stu, weird as from my view it looks like theres the connection between the two cars and you moving slowly to the left while pushing Joery, but sure I see from your view its just not the case.

This should probably be brought up in the league on why as many ppl as possible fraps/msi their races so we get to see multiple views.

Yeah he did, I was behind him so was keeping an eye out on the gap and all of a sudden I've jumped up a position. It was lap 23, I can confirm that.

Also it would be an 8th place finish, so theres an extra point for you jean-francois :)

hey guys, i see we only have 1 reserve and theres a couple of people gonna miss canada so if mark hume replaces TH in the lotus then my mate can fill in for Sean Olley in the williams.hes a fair, clean and competitive racer and is a member of Race Department so if its ok witheveryone that he fills in to make the numbers up if we need someone ?ive sent a message to macca to ask him and let him know but hes like lord lucan :)but i just wanted to run it by you guys first.

You have a great time at the dunny with yer tinnies and barbies at the Whoop Whoop social ;)

Fair dinkum. Now thraw us the keys to the 'ute ya flamin galah! :D

Well, now back home (work actually) and everything back to normal. Just had a bit of a health scare with one of the family but nowhere near as bad as first thought...all good !

I just realised I still have my footage to sort out! Im in lazy mode.

I rekon a 'montage' video of our footage cut together would be ace. Obviously with pro commentary.

If only we knew someone with the ninja skills to perform such a task for us......................

yeah paul, i forgot about your vid! where the bl*#dy hell is it ?? :) don't worry about editing it, just upload the 'highlights' (first 9 laps - because i'm in it) hehe...

I hope you still have your vid, I want to see my move to bill.

as you have sparked my interest in it again, have just now had another look at jan's vid of the incident... lap3 if you look at our orange dots on his mini map, mine is half a car length in front of yours. after i braked for/so as, i could make the corner, your dot closes up to me and we collide. :) if that's a racing incident, so be it. but you know what mattie, i've long since forgotten about this incident - there's no hard feelings from my side m8. the best angle of it though would have been from your car...i know you said turning on your fraps kills your fps, have you tried decreasing the graphics in the game itself and then see what your fps are? just trying to help because it's handy at times, and fun, to have your own video. :)
