Unbelievable how the car was a dog to drive...even though I really like this track and practice went really well.

Ive noticed especially here Freaddy that temperature of the track actually effects it quite badly, seems like when its cooled my setup understeers like crazy here and I end up being well off my pace. Where as we were in 31 degrees in the race and 33 degrees in qualifying.

Didnt do any serious practice for this race at all really so expectations werent high.

Did my usual softly softly approach into turn one and took advantage of the complete carnage that unfolded in front of me to find myself in 3rd place.

A few laps later the incident shown in the clip below occurred but at the time I didnt pick up on the fact that I had been penalised.

2 laps later and was enjoying a battle with andrew (making a nuisance of my self) when much to my surprise a penalty reminder flagged up at which point i pitted and totally lost interest. Complete boner kill a penalty like that.

I will post the first 6 laps of race later, had a couple of incidents with people spinning in front of me and the start is quite interesting for those who want to see the pile up.

I do not know who is guilty here, but I had no intention of overtaking Bending, just accelerated out of the corner like I normally would.

I'm not sure if I should take this to the stewards, and if yes, how I should do that.

I'd like to get your opinions on this incident please.

well, i am not an expert but in my opinion it was a racing incident
yes, you were faster on exit from turn 5 but when it came to turn 6 (fast lefthander) Bending was still in front and as a leader he gets to go on racing line into next corner, yes he could leave you more room there but he didn't have to i think..

anyway it is only my opinion and i am not a steward (lucky me)

btw it looks similar to the canadian incident between Hamilton and Button

Whats the deal with the restarts? I thought we would restart the session if anyone timed out during qually??

Myself and Bluenoes both timed out in qually but the race was started anyway, whats the deal there?? To be practicing for hours then dont even get a race is really annoying. I sent messages to italian red but got no reply.. obviously racing. Thanks.

Well, yet again the host fu&*S up.
What is the point of making rules and agreeing things if you dont bother sticking to them?

My self and one more that I know of disconnected with seconds remaining of qualifying.

Despite messages, the session was not restarted.
Pi55 poor.

Sort it out

Restarts are only permitted upon loading into the qualifying session disconnects during the session should not be resarted for. The only exception to this is if the Host disconnects as this can have an effect on the results page when hosts migrate.

Congrats ! to the podium finishers, fmFirefly , Richardflea and Mufas1983 .....Well for me this was one of my best races.....most definite my cleanest as I went the entire race with no wing damage at all......and finished on the lead lap....NO ! blue Flags..yehaaaa....I don't if Dave, Justin and Deane putting a Target on my back helped.......but hey lets go with that for the next race guys...... .....Ohhhh Sunny Day....

Yes, I ran out of fuel. Very strange, but I guess I shift to agressively .

Did any of you guys put your engine on cruise any time during the race?

I spent most of the race on standard mode, I changed to fast mode two times for 4 laps (so 8 laps on fast mode) and last 1.5 laps on cruize mode as i saw Lee running out of fuel and i wasn't sure how much have i got left.

btw: how do you guys see that fuel comes to an end?

I don't see any light poping out. Am i blind or is it because i race in cockpitview?

Busted one side off my front wing quite early on but decided to go on without changing it. If I did, I'd have lost 2 or 3 places for sure.

Not a racing incident, the qualifying cars tha thave finished the session are actually ghosted and impossible to hit, I know first reactions are to go around but the car is black so had ended the session already.

i realized that was probably the case straight after qualy so when i said "incident", i meant it was just bad luck for me (that's why i didn't name names, so to speak haha).
but at the time i wasn't aware of the'black car' thing...that's why i went around it...thx for the info

I'm not sure. I don't think so. I think one restart is allowed according to the rules.

good race all,I"m happy with my second place of the race,I knew that zomacher was fast in valencia and that bend was fast aswell,I raced zomacher this week a few times on valencia and somehow he always was quicker then me,I also tested alot setups in those races ,so today I wanted to surprise zomacher that I could be mutch faster then those other races,but I failed,I had a grid penalty ,I crashed my front wing into yellow,and my tactic on fuel consuming was not that good,I drove like 8 laps in a row on cruise engine,and I still failed to go on no fuel on my last corners,my race pace was actualy good ,but I did to mutch little mistakes again where I lose always half to 1 sec the lap.
so grats to zomacher he was fast and smart with his fuel,to bad for bend,but I had a feeling that bend would get out of fuel,so I waited and waited and then boem last lap bend real slow
but bend was fast aswell here so grats on your podium finish,so at the end P 2 for me,and I was not good enough to even battle for P1

ps I need to know somthing,If somone his front wing is broken,can he still defend his place or does he needs to make room for the faster cars, because dion his car was doing realy strange and it was almost causing a collision when I had to overtake him.
I though in real F1 that damaged cars go abit away from the racing line so he can drive safely to the pit.

So, having 2 disconnects at the same time wasnt enough to warrant a restart?
What would have happened if 4 or 5 had DC'd? Would that be enoght to convince the host that there was a problem, or would you just carry on with 3 in the race.

In reality, the only person with a real chance of not falling foul of the DC rule is the host?? Open to all sorts that isnt it?



This is turning out to be a bit farcical really.
Not only do we have mismatched drivers in each league, we have rules that just do not take into account common sense.

So you mean it was hot or cold this race? Because I have practiced only in clear weather setting (which to me would indicate warm...). Anyway, I am really disappointed. This should have been a great race for me...but turned into a complete fiasco. After inspection it turns out my team found a strange white powder in the fuel tank . Not sure how that affected my braking though. Man, I really thought I would have had a shot at winning this race.

We really should do something about the amount of racers though. Steve is out as well as Chris I guess. Derek will be competing I think...as will Piet I hope...and Romain just had problems with his graphics card. But that still leaves us short of a full grid by two racers every race at least. And with more not able to attend some races...the field gets way to small.
