I have it too. I did it to avoide spinning my car on the kerbs. You wasn't even next to me so I don't see you big problem there. If you have problem then take it to the stewards they will make their decision.

My ruined race

Congratz everyone on your achievements today, and congratz to most of you for beating me (haha, kidding).

I went into this race well prepared, knowing exactly where I would lose my race, if I would. I made a few deals with myself, so that I wouldn't spin of in a fight, hit or touch anyone, don't drive over my poor mechanic and not getting a penalty for speeding or cutting.

Of this deal, I managed to fulfill none of the conditions. It started in the first lap [see video], where the second of my commitments went down the drain.

I do not know who is guilty here, but I had no intention of overtaking Bending, just accelerated out of the corner like I normally would.

As you can understand, it totally ruined my race. I had a very bad inlap (due to the massive front downforce loss), and a 2 stop strategy.


I'm not sure if I should take this to the stewards, and if yes, how I should do that.

I'd like to get your opinions on this incident please.

I was in no form to compete with anyone. During the entire race, I had only 3 fights. One was with Webz, the other with Joempie (where I made many silly mistakes, so he finished way ahead of me in the end), and one with Italian. He came out exactly in front of me. I was glad to see this, because this proved that my race pace was the same as his, and he's quick here. I had to let him pass, because he was on fresh tires, and I on my worn out primes.

Fate was merciless this race. In the last lap, in the 2nd sector, I went out of fuel. I tried to manage my fuel by constantly racing on the 'standard' engine mapping, but that was apparently not good enough.


I'm happy to announce that I did not hit anyone else this race



EDIT: this video contains footage of the dispute between Zomacher and Bending too, so this might be usefull for 2 causes!

What a shi.y track for fuel I can't beleve it.

I saved fuel by only doing 28 out of the 29 laps.

From Dions video you can see clearly that you was far behind me man. And see how carefull I'am returning to the track? That was the only reason you could get close to me. You souhld learn from me.

Two words - very disappointed!. But when I used to race said that I would be in second place - I think I'd agree. All race i was lead and If fuel is not the end I think I would have kept the gap to Andrew and finished second. But on last lap gasoline was over. Comgrast Andrew with win - you was very fast. Freddy - with third place (in qualy you was jok with us (about your time) - wright?)

.... does any one has a gun??? I wanna shoot myself..... Throw away my 3rd place....... was almost out of fuel and cut the corner coming unto the start/finish straight alittle itsy bitsy too much?... got a 20 second penalty for that!!!! aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh..... just 4th......

Well to be honest, I would have singed for 5th as the podium are for the usual suspects 4th for one of our newcomers... So 4th is not bad at all, but the way I lost it.......gonna jump off my playseast.... a 10 inch drop

Had an incident in the qualy with Italian, I guess he took the corner too close to the wall and spun. I was on a very quick lap (seeing my split times), when I cam around the corner in 3rd gear...I hit him right in the side pod, frontwing gone and return to the pit. After that I just couldn't find the speed anymore, also there was a bit rain coming down. Just a 1:40.5xx or so.

Start was clean and no bumps or what so ever at all. I was behind gootek and in front of antique. After some laps gootek span after the bridge I had to avoid him on the left, and lost my position to antique. For some laps I was behind hume within 2~3 seconds. He was on options and I was on Primes, so I knew I would gain that spot back sometime, but saidly he disconnected? Really too bad.
Drove lonely laps, did my pitstop for options and drove to the finish in the snake on the final lap i ran out of fuel (only did 6 laps on fast), in the final corner I cut it a bit too much? Got a penalty and Bending ran off with 3rd place and I was left on 4th.

Thanx for the clean race guys! Congrats to Zomacher, ItalianRed and Bending our steady podium finishers.

Congratz to Andrew on the win (especially when it looked like Igor had a decent lead) and on the lead in the championship. You are the fastest, so well deserved. I was just surprised I was able to hang onto the lead for that long. Also congratulations on Igor for second place.

As for me, I am really frustrated at the moment. Practice yesterday and especially today (even right before the race) I had a very good setup which was fast and stable for me. Did a 1:37.7xx on options and a 1:38.3xx on primes. Considering the times in quali this race I should have been able to plant it on pole no problem with options. But every time I was on a fast lap I spin! So I wasn't even able to set a decent lap on the options. Then for some reason before the start of the race the strategy was starting on primes? Really? I did some timed laps (albeit extremely slow) on options and never went out on primes. Anyway, I chose primes...but then I wanted to change to options but I already had clicked I was ready...damn! Start was normal....braked early for the first corner but still managed to give a slight bump to Rob I believe...which caused some mayhem in the first corner. Sorry for that, totally my fault. After that I found myself in third or something...but what the hell...everytime I break (especially when coming from high speed) the back jumps away from me and I lose it....even parking it on the apex of a tight right hander...which made someone bump into me...(I think James maybe?). Sorry for that too...though I could not really have done anything to avoid it! Because of that bump I was facing the right direction again and could go on on my merry way without losing any position. But I kept losing the backend a lot of times! I totally had no confidence in attacking the braking zones anymore. Ridiculous as I had done a short race simulation before on this very day! But then again...never done a race simulation starting on primes. That surely was also part of the problem. Nevertheless I was ahead of Andrew...(maybe he had some wing damage). But then I made some more mistakes...came under pressure and spun again and he passed me. On the final lap of my primes I spun again in the first corner...came into the pits together with Andrew...braked too late for the jackman...are you kidding me!? Went out again and got a drive through for speeding in the pitlane! Are you serious?! Was frustrated the whole friggin race. Unbelievable how the car was a dog to drive...even though I really like this track and practice went really well. Had 9.8sec over Rob when coming out of the pits and decided to wait two more laps...to increase my lead a bit just to be sure to stay ahead. Then in the end I was closing in fast on Igor and Dario...but my drive through pretty much made that impossible, especially after I spun again in one of the last laps....ridiculous. Then I still managed to take third from Dario thanks to him running out of fuel. Sorry mate...you did a great race up to that point.

I'm really frustrated about this fragged up race. And to make things worse...only six racers?!?! Again?! I'm sorry...but that is just not enough. I hope it will be better next race...especially because I was already losing interest a bit in having to compete on a regular basis and this group losing so many racers the last few races. Sorry, just telling it how I feel it.

well first of all sorry bill, but I think this was a racing incident, seriously. But I hope devil has footage of it. I can't judge my move to you without footage. But I think this was a racing incident. I don't have footage of the incident, for some reason my pc can't handle to film( but I bought a new computer last year for 1500 euro's, So I don't understand why my computer can't handle it:S)

than the qualification, I was pretty slow compared to the others, I did 1,40,7 on primes and I only got 7th. In my last lap in qualifying I thought all or nothing, untill the 2nd sector I was 0,5 seconds under my time, but then ****ed it up.

The race start was just perfect for me got from 6th to 2nd. But then Scott just drove away. I made too many mistakes as bill mentioned, so the gap between scott and me was 10 seconds after 6 laps? Then I gain time on impulsive the difference between scott and me was sank to 8 seconds. But then I had a "battle" with bill which enfortunatly ended in a collision, once again sorry bill.

Scott pitted in lap 11 and got behind me at lap 18? We had a battle for 3 laps and in the end scott passed me. I braked too late, slipped around, hit scott, and I let him pass. After it I pitted, when I got out the gap was 14 seconds. I decided to put my engine on fast and I gain about 1,5 seconds per lap to scott. I reached scott at the end of lap 28. Scott made a mistake at the bridge, I was able to overtake him at the long straight but then, at the end of the straight I got out of fuel!!!!!!!!

Great race scott, very,very exciting last lap. I felt my heart beating like crazy in the last lap.

qualyfication was bad for me. on the first run i didn't even do any time because on both flying laps went out and hit the wall.
came in & put fresh options but again my focus wasn't there and i couldn't do a proper lap. any way at the end P7

start wasn't bad as i managed to keep my position but not for long. Joempie was pushing for a few laps and he got me into a mistake on exit from the bridge. nice driving there as you didn't hit me, i just stayed still and waited for both of you to pass me.
then on P8 having dioncaesar behind who was closing in i put my engine on fast mode for 3-4 laps. i kept my gap until lap 9
when i went in for primes. came out and after few laps PwNdBy WEBZ pited, i passed him. he came out a couple of seconds behind and started to push. i managed to keep the gap but only for few laps, finaly when he closed in to about 1-2sec i put my engine on fast mode again and we had nice&clean battle. you were pushing hard mate and you forced me into a mistake in the hairpin after some 6-7 laps, nice driving. i put back on standard mode and somehow i managed not to let you drive away. i was pretty close trying to force a mistake on you now then i think you had some kind of problem as you let me through (fuel?)
i put mine on cruize mode as i wasn't sure how much have i got left. on the last lap just before the last corner i catched DionCaesar who i think was also missing some fuel.
finished on P5. i am happy with my result as i leave valencia with 10 points.

as i said before the race; bring my car home and wait for someone to run out of fuel

Oh and I forgot to add that when losing the backend of the car and trying to not totally spin around I did impede several drivers a couple of times. Must have been frustrating for you guys as well.

I have to thank all of you for restarting qualifying due to me checking fraps to see what button was for recording.

Qualified on pole with primes witha 1:38.429

Went out for a second run on primes but in turn 5 on my out lap had a puncture so no time left for another run.

Got a pretty good start braked bang on the mark to take the corner to give igor enough room through the corner and got nudged into the wall putting my wing to yellow. Dropped to 5th and set the engine to cruise which stayed on for 7 laps. James I think passed me on the 1st lap also to put me in 6th but since I was in fuel management mode I wasnt fighting him just trying to keep pace.

James caught Freddy and they were in a battle for ages this allowed me to keep close to them which brought a big smile to my face.

I was following freddy once James dissapeared after I turned my engine back to fast and was catching Freddy a few tenths a lap (I was hoping he was on options but turned out I was gonna have to pass him once the pit window came and gone, he made a mistake coming onto the final corner and I stayed glued to his back until he made a mistake. Once that happened I dissapeared intot he distance as fast as I could manage.

Even though we had 0% chance of rain it still rained for 2 laps on lap 12/13

Caught onto the back of VoteableFox and decided to pit a lap early get my wing repaired and deal with the loss of traction later on, coming out of the pits into turn one I was playing with the engine mapping and stuffed it into the turn 2 exactly where I hit it earlier.

Was catching Igor so fast every lap I was beaming at this point I knew I would have about 3 laps to pass him at the end and then the enevitable happened my girlfriend popped her head through the door and I end up going wide somewhere and nearly losing the back end only lost about 1.5sec but thats half a lap I was thinking.

Caught Igor on lap 27 switched to standard as I noticed my fuel light was on then I was really panicing because my testrace saw me run out of fuel completely at the pit straight coming to the finish line, so switching to standard gave me performance enough to tag the back of him which was only a few corners then coming onto the bridge selected fast (one handed going over the bridge and around it) and drag raced him down the straight inbetween James (backmarker) and Igor.

Started to run out of fuel half way down the second back straight before sector 3 which had me panicing lots just set the engine to fast once I was in sector 3 and prayed that I didnbt run out completely.

Great race guys I feel like Jenson did in Montreal 2 weeks ago.

Gonna start video editing gonna be out of action for 24 hours probably

Thanks David, a really enjoyable race from my end.

Qualified second with a 1.39.5 which was on my second run. Could have found another couple of tenths I think however I wouldn't have got close to Darko's 1.38.8 ( I think, great lap).

Anyway I think starting second is good on this track as you have the inside for sweeping bend. I had a good start and was first coming out off the 2nd corner however I got on the gas to fast and spun putting me around 6th I think. The next couple of laps where great and I clawed my way upto 3rd. After a mistake from David I took second and had a good battle with Darko, at one point the gap was virutally nothing however by the first pit stops (options) he had built a 7 second lead. We both pitted on the same lap and I think I held him up as the Ferrari box is after the Mclaren one, the gap was now down to 4 seconds. Lost my front wing a lap or two after pitting so stopped again which put me 4th. Clawed my way back to 2nd with a gap of 30 seconds to Darko, I guess he made a mistake as the gap dropped to 20 seconds. The last 10 or so laps he mainted around a 20 second lead until lap 27 (out or 29) I think. The next two laps the lead dropped from 19 seconds to 14 going into the last lap. I overtook Darko around half way through the lap as he ran out of fuel.
