Where are we at with the final skins (windows/banners etc)? Are we almost ready to release a final skinpack or are we using the ones we've already received?

@Tyson: Do we need driver names etc on the cars?

Tyson has made the MH server available for practice again this weekend, details as follows:

Enduro Challange Prac 21-22/03/09
- Gates open all day
- Practice: 220min
- Qualify: 15mins
- Warmup: 5mins
- Race 1: 15mins
- Pit Stop: NA
- Damage: Full
- Flags: Full
- Weather: Changable
- Cars: GTPro
- Track: Monza
- Track: Spa
- Track: Nürburgring

The room is open to any member interested in competing in the Club Challenge. The server is setup with practice in mind and the races are only to give drivers a bit of a change. Weather is changeable as will be the event.
Nürburgring has the option of a short OUTLAP. Use the last corner of the GP track on your outlap to start your timed lap. this will only work on your OUTLAP.
please let me know if you get any issues with the server.

I have 1 V8 skin left to paint (due tomorrow) and i have a league race tonight. will finalize the plates and banners Wednesday.
No drivers names don't need to be on the car as a reserve could be driving.

Hey guys, sorry to have not been part of the discussion lately or to have managed to get onto the server at the same time as you guys either - had hoped to do both but life has been quite busy lately.

Have been putting some laps in when I've had some time, and was initially struggling with the Gumpert quite a lot around Monza, which shocked me as I'd had success with the tracks I'd previously run it on, including Imola , Spa and Crowne Plaza, all which I'd have thought would offer more setup challenges than Monza.

Luckily Warren came to the rescue with some setup suggestions, which helped a little, and a hot lap replay, which helped a lot. Thanks again Warren! Hope I'm not giving away any trade secrets, but I spotted from your replay that the Gumpert brakes a whole lot better if you use the gearbox a lot (ie change straight down from 6th to 3rd) and the brakes only a little (using predominantly brakes made the Gumpert an uncontrollable mess into Ascari and at the end of the start/finish straight). This has got my times down below the too-embarrassed-to-even-show-up threshold and into mediocre territory, but I'm concerned about whether the car will survive two hours of me brutalising the engine off the rev limiter three or four times a lap - I've not run an Evo car that long before, but I've run the GTR2 GTs in a number of races that lasted between 1.25-2.5 hours, and their engines definitely let go over that distance if not treated kindly...

Anyhow, that's where I'm at currently. Hoping to find some more pace over the next week but at this stage I'll be lapping at the rear hoping to take advantage of crashes/black flags for cutting/retirements. Gonna be a long night I expect, but I promise to have better pace at Spa as I've already got a Gumpert setup that works well for me there :)

We have some drivers at MotorHeadz running between 1:44.800 and 1:47.500 from what i have seen.
Lucky for me i got another chance at a Monza race on Tuesday night (1hour race) with the AusTeam guys (league event) and i saw a qual time of 1:44.084 i think, but during the race was a different story. There were some quick times but the pace seemed similar to the Monza race we had here last Sunday. I believe that a few blown engines accrued during the race 1 being the leader.
I have yet to run 2 hour stint myself but will hopfully get the chance this weekend.

Chris, it took me a little while to work out how to get the Gumpert to stop in a more controlled fashion. I think the engine will survive ok, maybe just try keeping the cooling setup a little higher (maybe 3 or 4) for the race. Two hours is a long time, especially around Monza where it is so easy to suffer badly from a tiny mistake, so patience and perserverence will be rewarded I expect.
I can't and wont run hotlap times in the race.

All Team Members please note:

The final Racedepartment Oceania Skinpack is now available, it has been updated to include Tyson's banners.
Please make sure you re-download it to ensure you have the final version to use in the upcoming Inter-Club Challenge.

Huge thanks to Jarrod for these great skins. :handshake:

Skinpack is here:

EDIT: Tyson will be doing one complete skinpack for all Teams entered, so there will be one more download needed before the Event starts.

I have bumped the Race date info, to remind everyone of the scheduled race dates. No doubt Tyson will give us full details of the race day timetable and server info as the Events get closer.

Oceanic community: Our future (?)

How do I put this so as to maintain the Oceanic feel?

Where the bloody hell are we?!?!?

Our race event numbers are continuously dropping, negative feedback feels normal at the moment and there is little to no movement in this forum.

The AU/US events seem to be filled with a mix of AU, US and EU racers (true to RD spirit) but our numbers for our races seem so fical that it feels pointless at the moment.

If the problem is the leadership (me) then let's find someone to drive the Oceanic communtiy and keep it alive. Also, what sort of commitment are we showing to RD through donations at the moment? We all want more, but are we all willing to put our money (and time) where our mouths are?

It is time to be brutal, honest and move into a positive era...

Would be quite sad if you (Cam) would be the problem. You and Warren literally build a flourishing Australian community in no time last year and the events were great. You guys did a fantastic job in my opinion!

Only remark that i found negative was the constant whining from a few of the AU members about bad pings and stuff. Not really strange when the servers are located in The Netherlands, Europe.

Eric K. made a great offer to host (for free) from the USA which improved pings already :thumb:. But instead of the constant complaining about the pings why not come up with an alternative. There are members here in the AU community that have local based server with good connections, why are those never used or even considered an option?

Instead Cam, Warren and few other loyal members are left out now, really dissappointing :(
