I am pretty happy with this so far, but I may blast the installation and have Steam rebuild it. I have some mods in it that I am not so sure work well and at times they freeze my computer.

For the sound, I am going to cut them some slack. They'll need time to fine tune it.

The New Corvette has no engine sound at all, but it drives well. But it's like driving the Tesla.
The damage I can do without for now. I got hit by the ai from behind, just a tap and I got this Amiga like low res spiderweb windshield crack. For a tiny tap?

I did a GT3 race and it was fun, but I got into a scrap at Eau Rouge and the car became undrivable. I think I'll turn damage off until it is better fine tuned.

yes AC is a SIM !!! did you ever watch a real race on spa ,,eau rouge is a killer :roflmao:

agree .. I was expecting something little bit more finished .. this seems to be very beta in all departments .. I guess it is gonna be one of those WIP until Not Supported :) but still

AUDIO: not as good as it could be and bugged right now. I really like external sound on replay cameras 5,6,7 on some cars (Lotus 98T f.e.)

FFB: kind of ok, missing slider for wheel weight or at least implementation of different wheel ressistance in differend speed. One of best in interpreting weight transfers.

GRAPHICS: as a GSCE and GTR Evo guy I don`t have any problems here .. I don`t fancy alomost any of those PP filters though ..

DAMAGE: meh ..

PHYSICS: hard to say .. from all sims I have it is probably easiest one to drive but without feeling that it is wrong ..and that is good I guess :)

CONTROLS: still not happy with mapping my buttons (POV not working, cant assign both paddles and seq.shiffter to shifting)

CONTENT: good, would like to have more cars in same class to build up more complete grid but that will be here soonish .. Tracks, you can never have enough tracks :) But content is well made and diverse.

FEEL: from my most played sims it is on last place in regards of feel .. lacking feel of speed (same FOV and camera settings as in other ones), everything feels like there is something between me and the car

I like the game but at this mmnt it is almost only about hotlaps for me ..

Sorry about all that complaining, lets play :)

sense of speed not good ? maybe change fov settings ?

Did anyone tried the Alfa Romeo Giulietta on Spa? My AC crashes during load, acs.exe has stopped responding.
Will test some other tracks when I get home. Maybe time for RC1.0 bug report thread.
But probably will be better to report back on the AC forums, was to lazy to create an account overthere.

Cheers

Finally had a chance to run the ERC1 and I am very impressed with quite a few things.
I cannot believe how well it runs on older hardware at ultra levels. I'm running 1920x1080 max AA and AF with all settings to max. I have zero problems with framerates on a not so cutting edge GTX670. That's mega and speaks volumes about what those guys have done in the 'push' to this point.
The tracks look much more polished as well...not that there was anything wrong with them before.
I took the 458 out to SPA with every settings at max and never had a single stutter.
Turn the ABS, TC and other aids off and that car absolutely turns into a different 'animal' by the way.
It's a blast to drive it fast.
The FFB feel quite a bit more optimized than previous versions....much more pointed.
Some little things still need addressing but most are too small to even be bothered with (flames etc...). The sound samples could use a bit more variety not much, just things like unstable combustion pops and over-run backfires..
All-in-all a good sim by Kunos and Company.
I like it.

To me is the opposite, it was running better before, but since it is that good for mostly everyone else I do not mind that much. I will have to tweak it more I guess.
might want to do a fresh install ,without the car mods
and remove documents map ,and restart steam after update before playing
car mods are useless anyway and need all to be updated

did a fresh install and afterwards added all trackmods i collected so far,,runs much better as before
even with post processing high/ultra ,,while before i had to leave it off to keep FPS high

that post about career mode just got my expectations up a bit. And if it's still not perfect we can always trust our lovely modders right?
Kunos just grab your time I will patiently wait to see your fantastic game develop even further

The FFB strenght decreased after the update for me.
Using a Fanatec GT3 RS.
Had to increase FFB gain by 45% in the options to restore to previous response levels. More gain results in FFB clipping and is not desireable.
Tested with settings on the wheel lcd and FFB options in menu and ingame.

Anybody with same issue? Any workaround at this time?

I used to run a very low FFB gain in my G27. I do not remember the exact value, but I think I had it around 40%-50%.

After updating AC I reduced the gain to 45% and I have a similar response. So if they have change the overall strength, it is not by much.

I agree, the FFB has been tweaked since 2-3 updates ago and honestly has been weaker since those updates, but I only had to raise it by 10% on my Thrustmaster TX.

Sense of speed is not as good in AC as it is in some other games. Always been that way, has nothing to do with the FOV. R3E for the PC and Driveclub for the PS4 have the sense of speed done right.

for me the sense of speed was improved in 1.0rc
i enjoy accelerating now,,because i can feel it better as before

havent tried driveclub or need for speed ;)
and uninstalled all R3e products a while back

sense of speed not good ? maybe change fov settings ?

thanx, my fov is fine .. and it works in every other sim i`m playing .. i`m talking about single screen, tripple monitor is whole different story (but I don`t wanna have 3 screens on my table) ..

Ive just been running a grid of 10 cars on Spa on a I5 laptop at work with HD4000 graphics, it was pretty playable at 28fps, although low settings still looked good apart from the lack of AA.

playable and 28fps doesn`t get too much together :)

I tried the post processing effects yesterday in my low-spec computer and I could perfectly play at a consistent 29-30fps with no frame drops.

After all, 28fps is still better than the 24fps they show to you when you pay 10 euros in the cinemas.
Well that is completely different thing... Yes your brain will cheat you so 24+ fps seems to you like fluent movement... But you are not playing with your eyes.. You can feel it... Just like in shooter games.. And you can feel difference between 30, 50 or 90 fps and you can feel so much when 90fps drops to 40... so 28 is not enough..if it work for you, have fun of course.. I personally rather don't play if game: A. runs below 40-50 fps (ideally 90+), B. doesn't offer change FOV option (like many console ports have trend to do)
