It may have to do with the ease of using steam to get it out. Steam could help get them around what ever Italian laws they were having issues with? A bit of a far shot but could be a reason.

Thousands have purchased the AC TP (and nKPro) without the aid of that service. They also banked the release success of AC on the success the TP delivered without considering the impact of moving to Steam. A gamble they obviously feel secure with while ignoring a fraction of the fan base that helped kick start AC into reality.

I had sent two very polite emails to Kunos providing official Steam threads where offline play is partially broken. Seems a reconnect is needed every so often and we know how much people like that based on the feedback MS received. Yet, no response was provided. Very little has been said by them on this forum as well.

I hope Kunos has a change of heart and remembers those who started the journey with them and hope to continue it.

Ricordate sempre di cui è venuto a non dimenticare mai che vi erano e che sono

Well, eleven months ago I wouldn't have expected that the only finished sim in 2014 would be Reiza's GSC 2013* :) - they turn out to be the only ones to have lived up to their reputation :) I am bitterly disappointed with the current state of affairs, nonentheless I am still going to buy AC once it is out and hope they have it finished before I die of old age.

* I know it is not officially out, but the pre-release is as good as a finished product.

Because AC is already behind schedule, the promised demo has never been released, the pre-order thing has been cancelled, the "pre-release" isn't out yet and it's less than 2 months before the end of 2013 :)

They never promised a demo before the release of AC 1.0. And we are likely to have something like 3 major updates until the end of 2013 so just wait and see.

I believe they did......some time around April, if memory serves. Don't get me wrong, I would be extremely pleased to have a finished AC before New Year, but given the rate at which Kunos work, I somehow cannot see it happen.
