after all I've been reading I think it ll work out fine with this game
but I can imagine the people following this game from the first day of development
are disappointed with the delay

What if...

...they stopped programing after Tech Preview and all they do now is producing nice sreenshoots and videos in 3ds MAX? :D

Ok, my post wasn't very constructive, but I don't have insult them. I have a lot of respect for their work but I would prefer they would say directly begin 2014 or spring 2014.
End of 2012, first quarter 2013, spring 2013, fall 2013 ...
But, ok, I shut off. Sorry. Have a good wait.

I don't get it. I know problems are pretty normal when developing a game and delays may happen. But it's delay after delay.

If they weren't 100% sure they could release the pre-order in September, the best way would be to don't say they would release the pre-order in Septermber.

Well I rather have some infos like that than nothing at all... And after all Stefano posted that in italian on his personal Twitter account, it is not like it was on any "official" channel/press release or whatever...

Fair enough but it just read rather harsh too me at a glance. As already said above, i have been lucky to see the game develop behind the scenes and they are working ultra hard to bring the polished proper next gen simulation that we have all wanted for years, no bull i see them doing stuff 7 days a week!. The community has to be just patient and let them get it right. Look at NKP as an example of what happens when things are not done right, it never recovered.

All i can say is the wait is more than worth it, the tech demo was just a taster. IMO the sim is completely different now, not only visually, but physics and FFB also are simply great and a step above the Lotus in the Tech Demo and have advanced vastly.

Hearing about another delay is a major kick in the nuts. I understand programming takes time but what I don't understand is how AC was playable at Gamescon over a year ago but still isn't ready for release. Lee, it's great that you are testing it in some way but what has changed that couldn't have been done in an update? (or several updates)

this whole "good things need time"-argument becomes dumb at some point i think. you can always make your product better when you invest more time. but this has to end somewhen, otherwise it may become something like the best product you never had.

anyway, i do not see a delay here. the tweet from today is as unofficial as the announcment

I like your backround infos, keep on posting such things!

Any delay before a "gold version" can often be a good thing so long as a studio can afford it and its to implement core features or fix bugs.

Anyone that has worked on large creative projects will know how much work often drops of after the launch off a product due to staff or some staff just needing to have a rest or brake from things and pull things back together.

Just think of all the games where they release early and you spend 2 years waiting for fundamental patches , Id rather play something solid out of the box.

Obviously it would be prudent for a developer to simply state "when its ready its ready" and stick to saying that. Until they get to the point of signed papers or have things in the distribution pipeline.

Non the less from what I can gather kunos like what they are doing and honestly want to have the game out ASP and want to show of/have people enjoy the hard work they have put into the game ( As would any indi developer)

I'm sure kunos are also acutely aware of the stakes in having AC hit the ground running and after the amount of time and effort they or any developer puts into these sorts of projects they are not going to simply dump it on steam and hope for the best.

Anyway until money has left your bank account, people don't have any right to complain about release dates or what a software house does or does not do with there code.

If you are bitter go read some books , listen to music , play other games , brew some whine (elderberries are ready to be picked in UK ).

Do you prefer licensed hardware?

  • Yes for me it is vital

  • Yes, but only if it's a manufacturer I like

  • Yes, but only if the price is right

  • No, a generic wheel is fine

  • No, I would be ok with a replica
