So ...from what you guys said ... i assume 95% of the mods we play online violates copyrights and are illegal ... if Porsche mod was shut down it means every car/track branded mods can also be shutdown when played online in a game people payed for ... the thing is that we keep doing it as long as the copyrights owners dont complain about it ...

Porsche used brute force to shut the mod down.
A team of individuals cannot take Porsche them to court of course..

In a fair trial I'm not really sure that porsche would have won the argument...

also do not forget that saddly in our world money is above any law...

but what we know for sure is the fact, that AC will have a steam-only release!!! so i think we should not start another debate about this one now. i just want to know how modding on steam works since i never installed a mod for a game that is using steam

steam argument is discussed already.
read the workshop terms please, then let me know of you would release your work there under these terms... sure I wouldn't

Shadow Explorer

How about you play some RACE 07, F1 2010, 2011, 2012, Dirt Series, Grid Series, Need For Speed Shift Series with mods and find out that you dont need Steam workshop to mod.

You can simply drop folders in your installation.

And you've already announced a million times now that you are not going to mod for AC anymore so please move on.

I will move on,once I get all the answer I need,As I said I'm not working alone, and I can't change opinion everyday, according to what Kunos says, let them clarify their plans first. when they do, you have every right to complain about me as well.

and please do not get me wrong,I'm tired as well. The last thing I want is to spend my time arguing in the forum.
I have much better things to do.
but I want to know how to proceed, I'm tired of those half baked information.
A company should be responsible for that stuff,I'm stuck in limbo right now.
and all I want is to know the plan so i can move on with or without it

because other people who help me are interested in it. and I want to give them an answer because they deserve it.
Well maybe they deserve it but I am pretty sure after all the rant, demands and other negativity you posted everywhere you are most likely not the first person to receive any answers

Secondly you can demand whatever you want of course but it are the developers (regardless what game or company) that call the shots when they wish to release any information they deem fit.

It's their game and they can do whatever they want with it.

@ Bram,You are correct,I certainly cannot tell someone how to make his game.
And I wouldn't do it anyways, it's his and he should make it according to his taste.

right now we are talking about the game structure and the ever changing plans for it.
all I can do is try to change some stuff,if it is by bitching, then by bitching
that is if that someone is willing to listen.

Everything is so uncertain regarding AC,and at some point there has to be a real plan.

last but least no worries, I'm sure that they love me,after all these posts...:whistling:

Again be happy with what has been disclosed of a plan as they are certainly not entitled to give one.

If you honestly think that by bitching you achieve your goal you really need to wake up as in this virtual nor the real world nobody cares about people who bitch.

What ever changing plans on the game structure are you referring to btw?

This is because I'm one person. If most of the community had a problem with steam, I would love to see kunos react to that, Of course they will not care about a single person or a group of small people having a problem with it.

and I'm not "bitcing" for the sake of bitching.
but since this is how people see my posts,I'm adopting to their pov,

If you don't let the devs know that you have a problem with something, then they will never consider to change it... they might even do not want to change it, but thats their decision.

I'm refering to steam,steamworks,modding system,modding capabilities (outside steam,if any)

for example if my friends want to port my stuff to AC without the need of steam, I'm ok with it.

if somewhow steam is included to all that stuff,I'm absolutely not willing to let anyone do it.
because of the steam and steamworks terms and conditions that I disagree so much with

I don't really see any big changes aside from the Steam only announcement.

They never officially disclosed any extensive plans about modding support. The only thing they did announce was that AC would be very modfriendly, they also announced that a complete modding manual will not be released before the game is out, as the game is still changing and the manual would be incorrect by the time of release.

Why would AC exclude the use of mods on steam when all Simbin stuff doesn't....?

As far as I know, RACE07 isn't on the Steam Workshop. In any case, you don't need Steam Workshop to mod Steam games. I have been modding CounterStrike, Half Life, Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead, RACE07, Company Of Heros and so on, years before Steam Workshop opened. You just drag and drop files into folders, or the other way is people have actually produced installers which just install like any other program.
