On the iOpener website there is a very interesting article about an upcoming World Rally Championship simulator:

World Rally Championship's next game: Racing live against rally heroes

The next generation WRC computer game will allow players to 'compete' in live rallies", states ISC chairman Neil Duncanson in the April version of SportBusiness International magazine. ISC, the global promoter of the World Rally Championship (WRC), mentions WRC's ultimate goal as building up an online gaming world championship alongside the real thing.
ISC and the computer gaming industry believe the next step in gaming is this 'live' competition between gamers and real drivers, made possible through iOpener's patented technology.
ISC CEO Simon Long says: "Now we are a global promoter, we want this to be multi-platform, multi-publisher, multi-territory."
For Long and Duncanson the new game is part of WRC's broader efforts to appeal new fans beyond the hardcore enthusiastics. FIA's chairman Max Mosley has said the virtual champion will be honoured at the WRC's annual end-of-season awards ceremony in Monaco.

Last April we already brought you the first news about iOpener Media's beta testers recruitment for their Real Time Racing project.

The news about this technology where virtual racers can compete against the real drivers on the track in real time is now spreading amoung the simracing communities.

iOpener is still looking for the worlds best simracers to join their beta test program that's about to start soon. If you are interested in joining then you can sign up on the RTR website

Hey ledanek, how's it going? If you liked Dirt1, you will love WRC3,...it's very challenging. The only real issue with the digital download Vs. the store bought PCDVD is the patch! It does not work on the digital download version :( And if you thought Codies was bad for support,...you haven't dealt with Milestone! :( I bought my game from greenman gaming and they still do not have a patch for their version and they are waiting on Milestone to give them one.

My G25 finally wore out and now I have a G27. If you create a profile in Wingman you can adjust steering rotation and such. I just use the default except for no steering dead zone

Recently I started working for my college friend, he owns and runs a business in which he reviews, previews and looks at new games and past games. This month has been racing week and I have created a review on WRC.

I would really like it if you could have a look at my review, tell me what you think and have some debates about your personal opinions on WRC3!

An all-new version of the FIA World Rally Championship's official video game will be launched at the end of October.
Called WRC 4, it is the latest chapter in the series that has sold more than 7 million copies since it first went on sale in 2002.
The new game features all the rallies from the 2013 WRC calendar, complete with all leading teams and drivers.
Players will have the chance to experience improved graphics, new weather effects and a revamped Career Mode.
The game will be revealed to the trade and public for the first time at the Gamescom exhibition in Germany from 21 August, before an official launch on 30 October at Paris Games Week.
Available for Xbox 360, Windows PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, WRC 4 is the first in the series to be released by Bigben Interactive, the company that recently acquired the WRC video game publishing and distribution rights.
The game itself is being developed by Milestone, specialists in racing games and the creators of the last three versions.
“We are very pleased and proud to become the publisher of this famous racing franchise”, said lain Falc, chief executive of Bigben Interactive. “This is a new step in the partnership built with Milestone over the past few years. All our efforts are done to offer players the most complete and realistic WRC videogame”
Luisa Bixio, Bigben’s marketing and sales director added: “This brand new chapter, different from the previous reboot of the series, will include many of the improvements requested by the community. A lot of the features that we’ve seen on the official Facebook page or received by mail have been incorporated.
“We’re convinced that WRC 4 represents a step forward for the series and will be appreciated by players.”

Whoop-de-do :whistling:

I also have mixed feelings for the games, I didn't like WRC 2010, I liked the career mode in WRC 2 with the car upgrading and contracts and those things but was dissapointed to see it changed in WRC3 but the physics were a little bit better. No idea how the new game will be but if it improves as much as WRC3 improved compared to WRC2 then it might be decent.

After installing the mod for WRC3 it turned the game upside down and made it rather good...
We can only hope that they also tried it to see were they had gone wrong...
They also need to make sure when they port it across to the pc that all of it works..
or we will be left relying on a certain group to bring out a mod to make it work..
might pass on this until i hear glowing reports about it :)

Among new features of this 2013 edition, players will have the chance to experience new lighting conditions, new weather effects depending on the stage, and a brand new Career Mode to put the player into real driver’s shoes. Realism and immersion are two of the most important pillars of the development, with impressive 3D environments and an HDR system that will grant the best in-game performance.

milestone never made a good game, im expecting this to be more of the same as wrc3, which actually had good balance between arcade and simulation, but stages lacked variety and rallies like germany, france, sweden were terrible, also dont expect graphics and sound to be any better, i hope im wrong but milestone screwed many games before, sbk, motogp, wrc

I think Milestone has quite a bit of talent but there is always something about their games that throws me off in one way or another. I think their support for Fanatec hardware has improved but was still not perfected in WRC3 at least for me it wasn't. Hopefully they will offer a demo and if they do I will give it an honest try.
