On the iOpener website there is a very interesting article about an upcoming World Rally Championship simulator:

World Rally Championship's next game: Racing live against rally heroes

The next generation WRC computer game will allow players to 'compete' in live rallies", states ISC chairman Neil Duncanson in the April version of SportBusiness International magazine. ISC, the global promoter of the World Rally Championship (WRC), mentions WRC's ultimate goal as building up an online gaming world championship alongside the real thing.
ISC and the computer gaming industry believe the next step in gaming is this 'live' competition between gamers and real drivers, made possible through iOpener's patented technology.
ISC CEO Simon Long says: "Now we are a global promoter, we want this to be multi-platform, multi-publisher, multi-territory."
For Long and Duncanson the new game is part of WRC's broader efforts to appeal new fans beyond the hardcore enthusiastics. FIA's chairman Max Mosley has said the virtual champion will be honoured at the WRC's annual end-of-season awards ceremony in Monaco.

Last April we already brought you the first news about iOpener Media's beta testers recruitment for their Real Time Racing project.

The news about this technology where virtual racers can compete against the real drivers on the track in real time is now spreading amoung the simracing communities.

iOpener is still looking for the worlds best simracers to join their beta test program that's about to start soon. If you are interested in joining then you can sign up on the RTR website

Hello everyone.
This one will be a big topic so for those who are not so forward to read this whole text I'll make it short here:
1. What about bringing back the old Group A cars to the future WRC game?
2. What do you think about official online championships held by MILESTONE in which people could sign up?
You can find a video and a petition link below to sign, in case you're interested.

Ok here we go:
I've been playing rally games since the early ages, being my first rally game the Colin McRae Rally 2.0.
During that era it was spectacular, the cars were good looking and each one had its own trick to get around.
I also started following the WRC season since 2002 and watched a few reviews of the old seasons.
As time went by, WRC started to lose its touch season by season, with the introduction of new cars far more balanced than they should be for a show like WRC and also a few things changed, from the scoreboard to the paintings and rules.

I play this new generation of WRC game made by MILESTONE and what really sets me back is the fact that we are forced to drive the new WRC cars on championship mode. Theres no old Group A anymore and it lost its fun that way. I've been sharing my opinion with a couple of friends and rally fans as well and we agree in many aspects, so I would like to come to you as you're probably the biggest meeting point for WRC gamers and share this opinion as well and see what you think about it. I think it's no news that rally games have been decreasing in rally quality.
If you look at the CMR Dirt series, you can barely say that's rally anymore. However, MILESTONE has been making an effort to re-launch the rally game industry and so far it ain't bad, but they are missing some important points which we enjoyed when we played a good rally game back in time: the old seasons, the cars, the drivers and all that had impact on WRC, which has been forgotten as time went by.

I have already emailed MILESTONE about this idea of adding the old Group A back in the series, not discarding the present generation of course, so we racers could choose between the seasons to our likes.
Also as part of the suggestion, I also suggested Official Online Championships to be held on www.wrcthegame.com so that WRC players could sign up and compete for the driver's championship title, etc.
The championships could vary between the type of cars used (for example Old Group A, Group A New Gen(present), Group B, etc).
This would keep the game alive for sure, as well as the WRC experience.

I've made a video to reinforce this whole idea:

And also created a petition so that it gets easier to reach MILESTONE's attention about these ideas. Shall you agree, please help this cause by signing this petition: https://www.change.org/petitions/mi...-longer-cars-drivers-and-online-championships

Once it reaches the target, I will email MILESTONE again with the petition, the video and every information shared here so that we can at least hope that WRC 4 (perhaps) brings back the real WRC feeling that we've all been missing these years.
Start posting! :)

Best Regards,
Diablosrouge

When I first purchased WRC3 IO enjoyed the tile a lot, but I encountered a series of bugs that made the whole experience less than enjoyable.

For instance, I am unable to setup a car given the my F5 & F6 keys (let alone my pedals) don;t work.
There were also other interface related issues and a couple other problems here and there.

I wrote a long letter to Milestone, highlighting my problems. I even gave them links to other people's posts complaining of the same issues and at the time I received a response that indicated that they were working on a patch that "will solve most, if not all, of these issues.

Since then I have not seen anything to indicate they are still working on the patch. In fact, as far as I know they have been very silent about the game in general.
Heck, they haven't even tried to sell us any new cars, which should be an easy source of revenue for a developer like Milestone.

Is anyone more informed than I am? Have I really tossed $50 in the trash?
Mind you, the game has a lot of promise, but it's just to buggy. It already takes me 10 to 15 minutes to set up so I can use my controllers with it. Then all the bugs add many false starts. At the end of the day, it's just not that much fun. The game itself is, but what I have to do to play it, is not.

Yes, bring back the days of rallying without sequential gearbox. For me, rallying started to go downhill coinciding with the introduction of sequential gearbox. It started to look like playing computer games instead of the other way around. I know everything is sequential these days, and as far as I am concerned, boring.

F1? I rather watch paint dry. Sorry for my rant.

Hi, i'm considering buying WRC 3 but I have a question about the multiplayer features. On the old WRC games on the PS2 you could have a multiplayer championship where you'd play against both your friends but also the ai across an entire championship. More recent rally game i've played lacked that feature.
Does WRC 3 facilitate this offline?

Thanks.

Hi, I have some old WRC games and WRC 1, didnt buy WRC 2 because off the same stages and everything. So how good/bad is WRC 3? on gameplay and stages, hopefully something new not just the same stages as other games?

And is there something new on career mode, or the same as 1 and 2?

Edit: If you know another good game than just write that to, I want a game with real good career mode. ANd will be on pc or ps3

Hi, how do you change wheel settings on wrc3 for pc?... When I goes to wheel settings than it just jumps on to Force Feedback Intensity and thats all I get to change.

And I cant drive the way its now, the car dont even turn almost in game when I have full turn.

The best time to change wheel settings is after you enter the game for the first time,...unless you install the new patch.
Go to the wheel settings menu and all the selections should work. If you try to do it while in game it's hit or miss.

but the problem is to get the patch..I have download version(digital) and it stands:
[PC] WRC3_Patch 1.0.1 Digital Version
Windows PC® (Digital Download) consult directly the purchasing website

And on the place where I bought it, there is no patch. Why cant they just realese in on the WRC game pagde...

After selecting play, at the main menu select F1 then Control Options, then F2. You can make all initial changes to wheel settings there. Once you start a race, you MAY be able to adjust the wheel settings, but it's hit or miss. Make sure your wheel is straight before making changes :)

Hey XLR8TR/Superd00ps, its me Ledanek from Codie DiRT3 forum. Thanks for the heads up on the demo. I've almost given up on this game since its not available in USA. I see there is a download available, but I'm reading problem(s)/bug with the download version vs the physical media version. I'm not sure how that could happen. I'm still trying to research where to purchase this physical media in the USA. There are eBay listing, unfortunately, at a higher price.
If you have some redirects or links that further discuss solutions to the known bugs, I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm still giving DiRT3 a run. A newer modder is trying out some things, currently on Subby N12 car. It still slips and slides and need a TAG mod.
Anyway, so far digging the default setting on the WRC3 Demo on Spain stage on my G27. If I get a chance, I'll try to fiddle with the G27 settings and see what can make the experience better. Gonna need a label maker, since the default setting/console port is not wheel friendly on me.
I'm digging the eyecandy, the track is waaaaaaaaaaay better than CM.
I see threads on G27 settings, that great, wish it was pinned so its easier to find for the new members.
I'll also be researching on the proper mods that will help this game better.
Going to Bookmark this so I can visit this thread daily for any new topics. Hope to share ideas with y'all soon.
