On the iOpener website there is a very interesting article about an upcoming World Rally Championship simulator:

World Rally Championship's next game: Racing live against rally heroes

The next generation WRC computer game will allow players to 'compete' in live rallies", states ISC chairman Neil Duncanson in the April version of SportBusiness International magazine. ISC, the global promoter of the World Rally Championship (WRC), mentions WRC's ultimate goal as building up an online gaming world championship alongside the real thing.
ISC and the computer gaming industry believe the next step in gaming is this 'live' competition between gamers and real drivers, made possible through iOpener's patented technology.
ISC CEO Simon Long says: "Now we are a global promoter, we want this to be multi-platform, multi-publisher, multi-territory."
For Long and Duncanson the new game is part of WRC's broader efforts to appeal new fans beyond the hardcore enthusiastics. FIA's chairman Max Mosley has said the virtual champion will be honoured at the WRC's annual end-of-season awards ceremony in Monaco.

Last April we already brought you the first news about iOpener Media's beta testers recruitment for their Real Time Racing project.

The news about this technology where virtual racers can compete against the real drivers on the track in real time is now spreading amoung the simracing communities.

iOpener is still looking for the worlds best simracers to join their beta test program that's about to start soon. If you are interested in joining then you can sign up on the RTR website

Ok....I seem to have found a solution to the "deadzone" issue I reported on yesterday.
Actually the advanced physics mod is preset to use a 900 degree wheel setting.
Why it wont change, I have no clue but I browsed around and found an adjusted "DATA.MIX" file to use with a setting of 540 degrees and it worked perfectly.

Unfortunately I can't upload this file, but if you have a .MIX file editor handy, it could be advantageous to peak inside the DATA.MIX file from EC.

Could you explain me what to do? I haven't found a solution.

I use 540 in my logitech profiler and 540 in the plugin.. and it works ok i havnt tried other wheel rotations yet.. have you seen the little box with the wheel ratations in inside the plugin.. mine says default i click on it and click 540 ans save and im good to go.. the box under the graph
When you installed wrc3,was it from disc... i did not use the install program that pop up i went into the files on the disc and installed from there as admin..
my ffD is very strong to strong and have my profiler at about 50 % and ingame its set very low 3 clicks and now it feel very nice..
My gears were double clicking.. 1st 3rd 5th with one click.. i went into the plugin and deleted the gear selection and now that it good..:)

Sorry if i'm wrong but in case you have the same experience with me.. AFAIK, you have to assign the wheel into the Advanced Plugin Interface that popup after you click the WRC3 icon. Assign Steer Left and Steer Right (do it with turning your wheel) and the Accelerate and Brake needs to be assigned as well. The Paddle Shifter doesn't have to be assigned though. It will cause your car shift twice in the game if you choose to assign them.

My wheel is DFGT and before i can't turn the car in the game. after doing some reassignment, now it's perfect for me :)

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but, To those who has issue with the not turning wheel in game, you have to assign the wheel into the Advanced Plugin Interface that popup after you click the WRC3 icon. Glad you have solved the problem :) Umm, mine is saved after i press the Save and Close button on the bottom. Are yours not saved? It should be even though the window will always appear before you start the game.

was really keen to try this mod as it looks awesome so i downloaded the latest version yesterday. placed the files in my WRC3 folder and unfortunately the game wouldn't start. kept getting an error message saying "WRC3 has stopped working."

deleted all the files, started the game, and now it works fine :O_o:

anyone got any idea what's causing this with the mod files in there? running Win 7 64-bit Professional.
+1 - Having the same problem, running EC SIM's physics mod and was looking for a tad better graphics but WRC 3 wouldnt start with this mod.

Thanks for the replays guys. I was away for Christmas so I couldn't check the forum or test WRC3.

I just wanted to let you know that I have been using the plugin. It resolves some issues, but not the ones I am really struggling with. Namely, the steering is fine if I start the game normally, but once I am in game, I simply cannot navigate the Tabs in the garage.
However, if I start the game as administrator, then I can do that using F5 and F6, but then the steering is all wrong, regardless of the plugin use.

Incidentally, I have at least another menu issues, which is the advanced wheel settings. They worked fine the very first time I setup the game, but after that, each time I select the menu (F2) I land in the page and I can only change one of the sliders. In other words, my Up/Down arrows don;t work at all. Strangely, each time I exit and select the same screen, I seem to land on a random items so if I spend a long time entering and exiting the adv. wheel setup eventually I am able to use it. Or I can start as an admin, set the wheel, save, come back and start normally, which is what I did.

The garage screen is different. It's already a pain to set up your car before a stage, but if you can't navigate the tabs it's useless. I would need to create my setups without actually trying them, exit, restart and then test them. Too much of a pain.

I also wrote to Milestone, but I received no answer at all. I wrote my submission half in English and half in Italian, hoping they would at least notice the request for support more. Nope. Maybe I'll try Klingon and tell them I'll explode their star. See if that work and they release a patch to fiox the broken menus.

PS: I also tried to use an Xbox controller, just in case. No dice.
