On the iOpener website there is a very interesting article about an upcoming World Rally Championship simulator:

World Rally Championship's next game: Racing live against rally heroes

The next generation WRC computer game will allow players to 'compete' in live rallies", states ISC chairman Neil Duncanson in the April version of SportBusiness International magazine. ISC, the global promoter of the World Rally Championship (WRC), mentions WRC's ultimate goal as building up an online gaming world championship alongside the real thing.
ISC and the computer gaming industry believe the next step in gaming is this 'live' competition between gamers and real drivers, made possible through iOpener's patented technology.
ISC CEO Simon Long says: "Now we are a global promoter, we want this to be multi-platform, multi-publisher, multi-territory."
For Long and Duncanson the new game is part of WRC's broader efforts to appeal new fans beyond the hardcore enthusiastics. FIA's chairman Max Mosley has said the virtual champion will be honoured at the WRC's annual end-of-season awards ceremony in Monaco.

Last April we already brought you the first news about iOpener Media's beta testers recruitment for their Real Time Racing project.

The news about this technology where virtual racers can compete against the real drivers on the track in real time is now spreading amoung the simracing communities.

iOpener is still looking for the worlds best simracers to join their beta test program that's about to start soon. If you are interested in joining then you can sign up on the RTR website

Version 0.6 released !

Wow. After this update I must say that it feels pretty much perfect. Surprisingly better than RBR physics wise IMO.
Yeah, I thought there was no way it would get close to RBR but it looks like they did better than that.

The weight transfer/inertia , effects that applying throttle, brake or steering has .. it's all spot on.

NOTE: Using Logitech G25. On Advanced Plugin: defaults for 540 degrees. Logitech Profile: 50% Feedback, 540 degrees. In Game: FFB - 3 bars

This was released last week, I didn't see any link here so here it is
http://ecsimhardware.com/?page_id=2108

Best mod for WRC3 - enabling multiple different peripherals to work with WRC 3 - and tripple screen ...I think ( Im using single so I can't test this, but you can adjust resolution to your 3 screens combined)
- adjustable Live in-car FOV+/- and seat up/down and seat Left and right etc or (xPadder assignment on your button box)
- ability to save and load FOV/seat settings on the fly
- ability to adjust linearity and testing analogue controllers (steering, analogue handbrake, clutch, brake and gas) before the game begin and save those settings.
- ability to change resolution

This have made WRC 3 so much better to play with , the gas and brake are much more sensitive now. instead of having to push to 80% before the gas start to engage.

I've tested this with Th8RS H-Patern mode, Frex Shift + and Frex Handbrake + all working together. even clutch works as they should.

didn't try this with my CSP and T500 since I now use the T500 pedal full time. they are much natural/better feeling overall.

After the WRC 3 (PC) title released by Milestone studio, located in Milan (Italy) there was many hardcore Sim Racers who wanted to give another oportunity to the game with new overal physics/tyre model and the so much discussed Spike Engine which generates an up to date graphics image quality.

The physics engine follows the guidelines of WRC 2010 and WRC 2 titles. The vehicle feels lack of realistic feeling when we talk about the tyres, engine, suspension...etc, aimed to more casual racers/gamers.

We can say that this title include some features and positive development progresses which it was a big surprise for some users but in another hand and like always happens, the hardcore Sim Racers who "loves" accurate and realistic feeling behind the wheel were a bit dissapointed but ... this is not the end of the history.

Inmediatelly after the official title release EC Sim Hardware - Motorsport Simulation Engineering company, with his founder and actual CEO Eneko Celayeta, started with a huge research in terms of physics and general code.

The objectives were to develop a new realistic physics engine called "ADVANCED Physics Engine" and an "ADVANCED Plugin" which support new realistic features to the title, offering a wide configuration options for all users.

All the developments were finished and the "ADVANCED Physics Engine (V0.6)" and "ADVANCED Plugin (V1.1)" were already released for FREE.

Here is a video showing the title running on triple screens, with H-shifter, mandatory clutch, support for multiple USB devices and a camera utility for a realistic FOV, a must have for all rally fans.

APE+Plugin is available on EC sim webpage for FREE

I'll be honest, after buying WRC2 and feeling utterly disappointed, I pirated WRC3 before there was a demo to see if anything had improved. Again, more disappointment, mainly for lack of triple screen support (come on Milestone, it's not exactly hard to implement!). needless to say when i added this mod the game became a joy to play with my multiple input devices (Full Clubsport setup and DSD seq shifter) so I've now bought it and am having a blast! :D - Milestone, it's a joke that a modding team have basically made you game better, it should've been this way on release! thank you EC!

@ Stewart: Still couldn't download it to my pc. I press the download button but nothing happens. Tried on another pc and it worked.
yeah it's the tiny text on the right of the page saying "click here to download", then you straighten the image, click download, then wait for the 30 sec timer and click again.

i hate website that mislead the download button to make you get something you didn't want :(

i wonder if EC would object to me mirroring the files with a Mediafire link

Hi all

Have brought the pc version (physical copy) installed fine but went to run and get an error saying i do not have permission and cannot access the permissible path (wrc3.exe) i am an administrator on my pc so that isnt a problem any other advice im well within the minimum spec but its soo frustrating!! have reinstalled etc many times have read something about replacing the demo files or something to make it work anyone else got any more advice

many thanks

Pete

This download page is a disgrace. I'll be happy to mirror the files on my AMAZON ACCOUNT IF I have to. heck, a free google drive account would do the trick too.
I was able to downoad one file than when I tried downloading the plugin it took me to the same download as before. When I tried again it told me that either I wait 6 hours or I have to become a member.

I don;t know if they are making any residuals by using these guys, but they are among the worse I have tried. I'd rather give the money to the modders than to the download company.
