On the iOpener website there is a very interesting article about an upcoming World Rally Championship simulator:

World Rally Championship's next game: Racing live against rally heroes

The next generation WRC computer game will allow players to 'compete' in live rallies", states ISC chairman Neil Duncanson in the April version of SportBusiness International magazine. ISC, the global promoter of the World Rally Championship (WRC), mentions WRC's ultimate goal as building up an online gaming world championship alongside the real thing.
ISC and the computer gaming industry believe the next step in gaming is this 'live' competition between gamers and real drivers, made possible through iOpener's patented technology.
ISC CEO Simon Long says: "Now we are a global promoter, we want this to be multi-platform, multi-publisher, multi-territory."
For Long and Duncanson the new game is part of WRC's broader efforts to appeal new fans beyond the hardcore enthusiastics. FIA's chairman Max Mosley has said the virtual champion will be honoured at the WRC's annual end-of-season awards ceremony in Monaco.

Last April we already brought you the first news about iOpener Media's beta testers recruitment for their Real Time Racing project.

The news about this technology where virtual racers can compete against the real drivers on the track in real time is now spreading amoung the simracing communities.

iOpener is still looking for the worlds best simracers to join their beta test program that's about to start soon. If you are interested in joining then you can sign up on the RTR website

Run game and in set-up under audio check "Disable Sounds". If it runs without sounds, then google for WRC2 which had the same issue, for windows sound settings.
Tried that already mate but found something after i posted here. Will post it here and then will confirm if it works once the demo finishes dloading. Bloody annoying though tbh as it will lock out MP until the patch using this fix.

The workaround is to copy from demo version this files
-LauncherDialogDLL.dll
-Engine.dll
but.... multiplayer does not work, and folder for saving data is C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Milestone\WRC3_Demo

Got the game today and I also had to use that trick to copy files from the demo... Odd. But other then that I love the game!!! I read some reviews and reactions saying the graphics aren't that good but well, I like them... There is a lot of detail and to me it looks mighty fine. I also like the handling (somewhere between Dirt and RBR imho) and above all I like it that it's all about rally (I haven't played the Road to Glory part (or whatever it is called) and I don't think I will). I like it that you can play a single stage, single rally or complete champioship right away (no need for unlocking things) and you can even completely customize the calender of the championship. Great stuff. Finally a new great rally game after all these years!

The ONLY thing I am disappointed with is that they used the Dirt 3 trick: every locations actually has only ONE 'master stage' and all 6 stages are plotted on it... so when you do a rally you will see a few things 4, 5 or even 6 times... What a shame... Then again, there are 13 (!) locations (where Dirt 3 only had 3 or 4) so... I am not complaining.

This game is a BLAST and I LOVE it.

On pc version, with G27 im using ffb strength 3 clicks from 0, when landing jumps for example, theres quite a strong clunk with the wheel that doesn't sound too pleasant (for the wheel health). Anyone else have this?
That's the most offputting thing in this for me atm. Otherwise it could be quite nice.

I don't remember getting that on the ps3 demo.

My only gripe with the wheel is a strong sense of centre spring and the wheel doesn't seem to return quick enough sometimes. But i got used to it sort of and apart from that the FFB is very solid. I hope these things can be ironed out but the physics i think for a game that is multi plat are simply brilliant. IMO best rally game since RBR, not a better rally game but it's the best since, without a shadow of doubt. I'm loving it

Pretty much what I'm thinking. Very nice surprise this.
