Hm I thought I tested them all. Just confirm for me you're using the 100% database please and I'll take a look tonight.

Yes i am using 100% database , updated to 3.1 and still no race strategy for Singapore both in career and quick race , something to add sometimes a strategy does pop up with all stops primes.
P.s I am using the 2013 Database

What happens when you do a 100% race only event for Singapore, does a strategy come up there? If so, can you manipulate the strategy around just enough so that you can use options and primes without having X's for your tyre compound choice?

EDIT: also, I'm at work so I dont have the game in front of me. What are the tyre compounds available for singapore? Super Soft / Soft?

Well using a Lotus in a quick race only gave me a strategy Starting with primes - 2 prime stops and 2 Option stops , Starting with options - 3 Prime stops and 2 Option Stops and yes they are Super Soft / Soft

EDIT: while trying to use a Ferrari had no strategy same as some other teams .

Sounds like 2 things are happening:
1. using tyres during practice and qualifying causes the game to think it doesn't have enough rubber to get to the end of the race given the wear levels of the tyres used in practice and qualifying.
2. the game must calculate tyre usage based on the wear rates assigned to each team. so since Lotus is easier on the tyres than Ferrari, Lotus is able to make the full race distance.

I think what I'll do for the next update is change the compounds for Singapore from SS/S to SS/M. I have a hunch the FIA will do this, but we'll just have to see. But at least this will make the race a touch more interesting, and doable for that matter lol.
It's a tough balancing act to make the tyres feel notably more sensitive to wear when compared to the default 2012 version of the game, while still being able to make the full race distance. I ran into this issue a while back before I had implemented 100% and 50% databases - which is why I split it up into 50 and 100% databases.
If the FIA still uses the SS/S compounds for Singapore then I might just need to chalk it up to a "it is what it is" situation because if I increase the tyre longevities any more than where they are now, the difference between the default 2012 game and this 2013 mod will barely be noticeable :thumbsdown:

For now if you like, open the database > track model table. Find the row for Singapore, and find the column for "prime_tyes". Change from a 2 to a 3 to go from Softs to Mediums for the prime tyre set.

Hello i see that "-All teams available after 1st career season.", actually there is a way to remove it (also 90 flashback) as i dont want play with cheat, or i understood bad ?

Hi I had to restart profile, now I cannot get throght the hairpin test of young driver test, I checked the overveiw page but I don't see anything please help


...really buddy? You can't scroll down more than 10 lines?


CTF Files (aka the "cars" folder):
Disclaimer: I recommend you install the CTF files after you have completed the Young Driver's Test, as the hairpin test is very difficult (but not impossible) to pass with the CTF files installed.

first of all, good work. with your mod, racing against ai is much more competitive and better. nevertheless i noticed some weird ai behaviour.

- when the ai is leaving the racing line (maybe for attacking or defending their position) they break much too early for next corner. the result is, that it can easily overtake the ai by just staying on the racing line and get past them. on the other hand, the ai didn't manage it to overtake me even they are faster, because every time they want to attack and leave racing line, they break too early infront of the next corner.

- when the ai is fighting for positions against each other, they drive very slow. result is, that in some cases it is very easy to overtake even both of them.

is it possible to improve this behaviour?

I havent been able to correct how the AI defends. If you check the overview page there's blocking parameters in the ai_driver_config file, but these don't control every aspect of the ai defending. I also havent been able to change the line the ai takes while defending. though i have been able to at least speed them up a bit when they do defend. this has been improved over the default game

assuming you're actually leaving them enough room and not cutting them off, as long as the nose of their car is in front of you before the braking line, they will hold the line. I haven't been able to get them to really "make a move" on you without diving in recklessly and/or running into the back of you. believe me i tried to fix this but no overtaking parameter in the ai_driver_config file really made a difference

it's the same as the above. If the ai car behind can't get its nose ahead of the ai car in front, it won't complete the move and will slow down. the ai car in front however takes the defending line so he slows down too. this is why you see this behavior which again, i haven't been able to correct, nor has anyone else as far as i know

Overall if you do some races with the default game, then install my mod and do some more races, the differences will become very apparent. I've done the best that i can with the AI to the best of the collective knowledge available on this website. Unless someone finds some "golden bullet" or manages to decode the executable (which I'm under the impression is illegal) I don't think the AI can get much better than what I, Demy van Zoggel , or Kristian Nenov have done.

But if you find anything, feel free to let me know! I'm always open to help and new ideas (so long as you know what you're talking about and have done your homework :p )
 
I have one issue. I now can't do the young driver test's hairpin test. I've done it before but now I the car seems too slow.


Holy **** man...you literally can't even read even 2 posts before yours? Let alone basically any other of the 49 pages of this thread where someone feels the need to ask the same goddamn question every day? Or not even the overview page where it's right in the frequently asked questions section right at the top of the page?!

I've lost all faith in mankind...

Felt like making a video how to do the hairpin test, for those who missed the part that CTF files must be installed AFTER young drivers test.
Quick note: You MUST use a Red Bull in Young Drivers Test for it to work.

I dont have the game in front of me right now but the table has the word "points" in it...career_xp_points? just look for points and then set that table back to default values or whatever you like.
 
Hi i dont know what i am doing wrong, or anyone have faced this as well. I install your mod and when i try to launch the game, the screen goes black, waits a few sec and than drops me back to the dektop. I have tried several re installs as well, and it is not facing any other mod as well. PLs can you help me ?

Me detail please:
what version of my mod are you using? 2012 or 2013?
If 2013, check v1tek's install guide here for his 2013 Season Mod: http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/threads/f1-2013-season-mod.68460/page-7#post-1426936

Second, are you using a legit game patched to version 12?
Black screen usually arises from install issues with v1tek's mode, so aside from that I'm stumped.
