Ok so everything started out like before I had way less pace. By lap 28 there were 8 DNF's and one DSG. 11 AI drivers had not even came in to change off of there super soft tires. Alonso by this time had pitted 3 times and was in 5th place. I think at this stage of the race far too much has happened especially the not pitting for the AI. I got to lap 19th and at the hairpin before the Droit du Casino straight my tires were done (I was passed by Webber). Idk its my first 100% race with this mod but maybe too extreme? On lap 28 my lap time was 1:18.500 on soft tires so I was speeding up but Grosjean was 25 seconds behind and still yet to pit, wtf? On lap 29 I got a message to come in and pit and now at lap 30 a total of 10 cars have DNF'ed. Ok lap 34 and I just lapped Ricciardo who was in 2nd place. I turned it off. Sop here I am now wondering how to fix this. Maybe put back the original AI pit files to start, but what else? anybody experience races like this?

Verify files through steam, then reinstall my mod (idk if you're using the 2012 or 2013 version of my mod...if 2013 you'll need v1tek's 2013 season mod).
Or it sounds like you're doing a 100% race with the 50% database...but you've definitely got some conflicting files or something.

im using your 2013 mod and i installed v1tek's 2013 seaon mod. also i loaded your 100% database. I think something is off because while hrt is gone and for drivers have siwtched teams (Zhamilto is with merc for example) new drivers names are not there (no jules bianchi, estaban guitierrez, etc.). How do I verify the files through steam? and how would that help?

Verifying files resets the game to factory default so you know you have a clean slate. Then you can install the mods knowing that you don't have any conflicts with previous mods, etc. This rules out any issues that may arise from leftover files from previous mods.

Be sure to backup your savegame profile, then follow the instructions here:
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

Then install v1tek's 2013 mod (make sure you install it correctly, it's admittedly a bit cumbersome)
Then install my mod and confirm overwriting any files.

At any rate, your results are far from typical so I know there's something wrong with your files, which is why I want you to verify your files to start with a clean slate

Sounds to me like you might be easy on your tyres as well...I'm not (my wee little joysticks make it hard to be a smooth racer lol). But big picture: remember during qualifying the AI is doing 5+ laps while doing their hotlaps. I always try to do just 1 or 2 hotlaps to preserve my tyres for the race. So the AI is probably pitting a little earlier than you because their tyres are older than yours (I'm assuming you're not doing 5+ qualifying laps...)
Well, I usually need to run 5 or 6 laps for a good time and I mostly use one set of tyres for Q1-3 but I still can drive like until lap 10 or 11 when the game wants me to change at 7 or 8 (just hilarious, do often 1 stops instead of 2 because as long as the tyres aren't full orange and I don't slide when breaking, the tyres are fine to go); so ofc the AI changes at 7-9 even those who started with fresh tyres (you know: grid #11 and lower ;)).
I guess it can't be helped, same with rain tyres, the AI is usually even too fast on slicks on a wet track, guess CM did program a bit weird (they could even use DRS while in slicks on a wet track).

Oh, I find it quite smooth driving with a XB360 gamepad, but seriously those assists just make you slow and traction control creates even more understeer, it's a pain [well, I use no custom setting - did that on XB360 but modded .ctf files are already good to go for fast setups] I just use mid tract. control when being on full wets.

Btw.: Had a funny pit-stop-crew-made-my-day-moment:
Result was: I had to restart the race as the car did retire but kept being in the pit stop while his teammate wasn't able to do pits any more, hahaha

P.S.: Apropros "true to life" I once had a mod that made you able overtaking cars under SC, no idea where or when I got it from - point is: You've included the SC Fix Mod as well, its default has forced space between cars, do you know which file/values to modify to drive more "manually" true to life like without those forced slowdowns of your car?

This is my gamepad:
http://www.target.com/p/xbox-360-mini-pro-ex-wired-controller-smoke-xbox-360/-/A-14333217?ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001&AFID=Google_PLA_df&LNM=|14333217&CPNG=Video Games&kpid=14333217&LID=PA&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=14333217

So I have about 1/4 inch of movement between no throttle to full throttle lol, same with the brakes >.<

If I'm honest, once my tyres go brown (not orange) I find my grip levels decrease dramatically forcing me to pit...maybe that's because of assists?

I've no idea how to alter the driving controls while under safety car...would be nice though I agree...would add just that little bit more of realism.

But big picture: I'm doing the best with what I have to work with. I'm not a programmer, and I didn't write this game. But I think overall we'll all agree that this mod dramatically improves upon the vanilla F1 2012 game, yes? Remember that the aim of this mod isn't necessarily to make the most realistic game (although I'm trying), but rather to make the game more fun - to make the competition better.
For me personally, I don't need to match real life laptimes, or match real life braking points, but as long as I have to work hard to win a race I think that's the most important aspect. Even if I am in 1st place, it's nice to know that if I go spinning off, I'm going to lose places rather than just hopping back on the track and I'm back in 1st place within a lap or 2, you know?

So while I do appreciate all the feedback everyone gives, I'm just asking that everyone keep in mind that this is still a $50 game, and not a $1,000 simulator lol. I'm doing the best with what I have

Hehe, well, I'll look around and try finding those files for being able to overtake under SC (makes it much more realistic and you've got to be more cautious).

Yeah, you're doing your best, noone asks for more, you're doing a great job and I'm personally glad you discuss our feedback and other things and stay alive here ;)
But one point down is: If you're using full assists - means brake assist as well - you can't really adjust the AI's breaking moves or points the best you could, I think :p

P.S.: Well I use the default XB360 cabled controller ;)

The braking points only need such fine adjustments (in the code you're talking about differences of maybe 0.03 or so) that using assists vs not doesn't make a difference.
Go do a race at Spain with v3.0 and you'll see. I made a number of adjustments to braking points and cornering speeds at that track with full assists and it's only gotten better over the default game as well as compared to hill's version of Spain's braking points ;)

I just thought about my own driving style, guess with assists I'd hit the corners more equal each lap while with no assist I usually break different each lap such the AI randomly hits my arse (that's why I use default loose_part and decals else they'd drive w/o front wing half of the race, lol)
at corners where I am too cautious (better too slow then spinning, I'd say).

Btw. did you watch my video? It's Bahrain and I think the AI breaks too fast into the pit (or the trigger for limiter comes too early), I often drive full speed into it :D not to say I need to go right at the very last moment damn quick or I'll crash 'em :D

It's because the game doesn't do anything about pit lane speed for the Player - the player can never get a pit lane speeding violation. So you can come flying in at 190mph and they're going 60 and there ya go lol...shame really that CM can't add these bits of realism that just add to the whole aura of the game. Singapore pit entry is just bloody awful...they basically stop right before going in...

Speaking of a penalty, the game itself has parameters for a pit lane speeding but yeah you're right, the game doesn't give a damn rats arse, I tried it with disabling the pit enter trigger ... could drive through with 200km/h (but couldn't do any pit stop then, no matter my crew was awaiting me) but got no penalty.
Too bad, sometimes I wonder what CM actually does and why they don't learn from the modding community ^__^

Seems to me they focus more on the eye candy and graphics rather than gameplay. I personally love the graphics in this game which is why I got it, but thank god everyone on this site has figured out so much so we all can at least make the gameplay a bit better than mediocre lol

I did just tweet a programmer at CM, and they are aware of the mods at this site and he said there is "amazing work" at this site. However, he said the reason they can't necessary utilize some of the work at racedepartment is because the mods are not signed by FOM (Formula One Management)...apparently it's the FIA's intellectual property and they have a say in all areas.

Bummer...

lol well I did ask "Doesn't the FIA want to look good?" But I guess the gaming world is relatively new to the FIA so changes are coming quickly nowadays according to CM, as the working relationship between the two entities continues to strengthen.

What that actually equates to...who knows. He did say info for F1 2013 is coming out soon though, so keep your fingers crossed

Does anybody know if I should be using the Cars>Balanced files from Demy van Zoggel's 2013 mod or the files from True to Life? Whats the difference anyway?

Use my cars folder. Balanced folder is for the AI, track is for the Player. My cars folder gives more realistic top speeds and produces more realistic results from the AI as per 2013 season.

I hate asking stupid questions i really do and I appreciate every response from everybody. I have check everything twice and I still have bruno senna and kobyashi names etc. showing up even though other drivers have moved teams like hamilton etc. I started over from scratch and did everything in order. What files control those names?
