The "What Are You Working On?" Thread

Since the car didn't have any headlights and the assembly is due to be replaced by a new design some time soon I took the freedom of giving it some eyes of my own creation. Will fill them up with some LED diamonds and call it a day as it will be replaced by another design later anyway. For now a reasonably stylish WIP :D.

DRL on top, high beams on bottom, low beam in center.
Looking great - Would prefer it if you used a different image host though, every time I click on one to see it larger it opens a new tab! :roflmao:

Anyone you can recommend? It could also be a settings issue with the one I'm using.
Imgur is good:

Another video about Mitter and his cars, showing details under the hood, framework(taken from a dkw station wagon) and parts of the cockpits interior of the formel junior

Thanks man, that was the most detailed view I've seen of the cockpit! very useful and right on time as I was about to finish it today. Here's how it looks, it's a mix between the earliest car (it only had a temp gauge) and the one on the video. The steering wheel is more of a personal choice, but still period correct.

I found this gem...

a round on the 1962 Nordschleife with Hermann Lang in his 1937 W125 5,57 litre 646hp/6500rpm
with comments of Graham Hill:cool:

Could be usefull for trackbuilding and modding the car
Those times the track had a reduced width in comparison to today and special safety hedges:whistling:

Are you ever going to share some of that curb hopping fun with us, or just keep teasing us :p.

On a more serious note, what's it going to sound like? similar to a Formula E car or more like a Tesla?

Well its up to UCM, its their car! But yeah I hope so, last time I mentioned releasing it publicly they seemed keen, but ultimately its their choice.

If not I'll throw together a generic FSAE car and dish that out instead, obviously if that's the case it'll take a little longer as I have plenty on my plate.

Regarding SFX, I'm not sure what it sounds closer to, I'll maybe try and record a quick video. Sounds cool to me.

What a great vid! Now if we could only have a 60's Ring......
I'll keep dreaming...;)
It´s so cool to watch Lang using the race line he is used to, touching the hedges or running a little off track with his inner front wheel. Wearing only street clothes, goggles and this textile cap like he had done 1937 - in a racecar with 646hp on the Nord! Or Neugebauer playing unhappy with the time...:D

the pre war era was just amazing, wish to have a complete 34/39 era mod :)
For racing it would prefer 1937/38... the cars had the most power. There would be a W125, an Auto Union Type R and an Alfa Romeo 12 C, Maserati 6CM - what about the British?
with tracks like the Donington 1937(;)) or AVUS and its 43degree banking without barrier...(Auto Union and Mercedes used there their famous "Stromlinien" fairings).
Must be unbelievable to race in AC....:)

i would like to have 34 or 35 season too, since there was some chance for Alfa Romeo too :roflmao:, you are right about 37/38 season. All circuits where great, so all fun is there, with AC graphics it will be just amazing

Yes, Alfa was 1937 out of pace, even Drivers like Achille Varzi or Tazio Nouvolari couldn`t help them to victory.
Ever heard of a Trossi Monaco(1935)? It had a 16 cyl 2 stroke 3982ccm 250hp air cooled radial supercharged engine and... fwd- the big brother of the Mitter Formula Junior.;)

Trossi Monaco
Both Aymini and Trossi tested the car at Monza reaching speeds of 240 km/h (150 mph), and the car was on the entry list for the 1935 Italian Grand Prix. However, testing revealed that the car experienced severe overheating and a tendency for the engine to destroy the spark plugs. But the more serious issue was the extreme understeer caused by the 75% front / 25% rear weight distribution. With the problems uncorrectable without a serious redesign, the car proved too dangerous and it was never raced.

Seems like in these times you could come along to a company with an every strange idea and they said "ok, let´s build it and let´s see if it works" I mean putting a huge rotary engine in front of car - not a plane... and they tried in on track... cool:thumbsup:
Thanks for the very interesting info!:)
