Hey. Cool gears you have here!

May I ask if you can recommend an compact actuator with 10-15cm amplitude and able to lift 5-10kg? Maybe you have something or can advice where to look?

Thanks in advance.

The actuators we use here for motion rigs, are capable of lifting easy 150-200Kg... each actuator!

For 5-10kg, you can easily find DC motor actuators, perhaps like those used to lift beds etc... like this one here. But be aware these actuators are really slow, 50mm per sec, compared to the 250mm per second we use for motion rigs. Oh and they are not compatible with the Thanos controllers btw, you will have to find another way to control them (arduino pergaps).

It’s going to hurt a lot worse if he keeps hanging on to that steering wheel.

Actually, the controller will allow a initial hit, but subsequent ones are suppressed, by switching to slower and softer tracking mode motion cues. Really useful for rollover crashes. Now the steering wheel, true, these don't come with spike filter detection, and the forces on them can become a bit violent, best way to prevent hand injuries, is to let Jesus take the wheel :roflmao:

New firmware update was just released for the AMC-AASD15A (v2.26 fix6 - 2560 version only)

  • Added physical pin outputs for the Spike Filter when activated, to allow hook up external monitoring hardware (LED, sound circuit, mechanical indication etc).
  • Added option for scaled range for the double TL actuators 5 & 7, allowing separate range for front back, while keeping them centered. This was added by request from Raceathome, as SRS did not provide individual front-back TL actuators scaling.
  • Fixed bug that added delay if the motion software stopped sending motion cues while the Spike Filter was active.
