Team ORSM

Not at all, but when the rfactor 1 suddenly goes down, seems a bit convenient for rfactor 2, who has battled to get numbers into clans. A clan I ran in, had 15 on average in rfactor 1 as oppose to 10 in 2. I wasn't the only one, and a number of people were asking the same question, some clans who refuse to switch over due to numbers, were asking it. I was just find information and voicing my thoughts

You clearly went on a tangent, you clearly made accusations that turned out to be 100% false, accept you were wrong!
I'm not going to get caught up in the arguments. End of story, I'll have my opinion like a lot of others did, and many agreed with this. No one was forced to read what I said with a gun to their head. If you don't like what people were thinking, you didn't have to keep reading on. I'd still like to know how a company like ISI gets an 'intrusion'. A number of holes in that.

And posted on ISI's Facebook page:

"rF1 Matchmaker is back online. Thank you for your patience.

We still recommend moving rF1 to Steam when you can (probably next time you need to format or start fresh). Non-steam version no longer for sale."
Nice way of ISI to make money and look after those who have been in rfactor forever. A large number of people I race with aren't through steam rfactor and aren't going to go there either. The clan leaders have also said to hell with rfactor 2, not something that has good mods, drives horridly compared to a real race car and doesn't have the fun factor. We are actually looking at Automobilista or races on iracing

An opinion that was 100% flawed with no basis of fact at all, Merry Christmas!

Like I said, I wont be getting into argument, I have based my own opinion off the community in the past, and seeing the views still continue to see it. For starters, you, myself or no one else knows what the motive was, and ISI sure as hell aren't going to say yes we did it for this reason. Like all big enterprises, they have a dodgy aspect, just a matter of where. You tell me of one enterprise who is clean now,

EA: No
Codemasters: No
SMS: No
Turn 10: No
ISI: No (steam shows that)
397: No (seems like a lot of things promised and not a lot being done)

If they are making money that's all that matters to them, and we all damn well know it. Just a question of how many of us want to believe it.

Oh dear keep digging that hole mate, goodbye
Why does what I think affect you may I ask. Are you losing sleep over it. If not don't stress over it, you aren't the one who looks anti rfactor 2, I don't care what people think about my opinion of rfactor 2 or big businesses. One I hate rfactor 2 as it feels horrid for me to drive and two, I see how corrupt big businesses are every day. Now, lets move on. These people who run these companies aren't worth dividing a community over varying opinions of the companies

LOL, you have a very suspicious and troubled mind... contact ISI via support@rfactor.net and they'll help you convert your existing rFactor license to Steam. For free!

Automobilista is a good choice, too. But iRacing? Seriously? And you're talking about money-grabs from the other studios!?!

While reading this thread I decided to put down my popcorn to maybe chime in and add some clarity, only to realise that in 6 years of reading RD posts I had never actually signed up.

mceci1, see where voicing wacky conspiracies gets you.
As I said some clarity.
The clan or clans you ran in, that so do I; have a main focus on V8 Supercars and have used 1 or some of the few V8 mods out there for rF1 for quite some time.
The only thing that held rF1 up so long in that community was the lack of a quality V8 mod. Any other racing done(outside of dirt) was generally on rF2.
The writing was on the wall when the creators of one of those mods were struggling to attract numbers to their league races and subsequently moved their league racing to rF2 in a variety of vehicles.
One of the other groups within the community ceased at the end of the year.

Now to you. During this lead up you were given many suggestions on upgrades and listened to none. You bought a low end laptop that did not meet minimum standards and you wonder why the game ran poorly for you.
So where else did you gain your negativity from? Listening to modders getting frustrated about the intricacies and complexities of moving their rF1 mod to rF2 in a private ts channel. I know, I am one of those modders who has gotten pretty heated over the way certain things have been done. As the one working on the tyres, I had some few choice things to say at times, and I can only speak for myself here.
The thing is, modders will think of the driving a different way. Looking at what is right and what is wrong. And if things don't make sense or are too complex to get working correctly without specific tyre data for the compound. From a driver point of view the main difference I have felt on change over is the fact that you have to use the middle pedal a bit more and adopt a smoother driving style.

Are there things still wrong with rF2? Yes, just like EVERY other product in the market. I find it funny that your list of dodgy enterprises did not include iRacing. A service where you pay for a product that you can only use if you keep your membership up to date. EA and Codies DO NOT CARE. They buy the franchises that they know get the most attention and do what they want.
You were proven wrong by jumping to conclusions and now have egg on your face. Even if the ISI matchmaker goes down you have a way to access or update to Steam for their matchmaker. The problem here is, how many of the complainants are using pirated copies of rF1??? ISI have done nothing wrong, they have supported a game with its matchmaker for over a decade. What other company does that, when development had ended nearly half of that time ago. ISI owe you nothing...
S397, well they have done what from the outside looked like commercial suicide, by picking up a product that had effectively stalled in development and are doing it with only new sales and DLC. They have made steps to improve the product and are getting there. Is the progress quick enough or focused in the right areas, everybody has their own opinions. I myself will still always complain for documentation for modders to improve the quality of 3rd party content until they start providing it.
Once again funny you mention that making money is all that matters without mentioning iRacing.

Are you kidding!!!! Servers cop intrusions all the time all over the world including companies a LOT more important than ISI.
Next you will say that I'm corrupt...
Good luck with wherever you are racing now...

Don't get me started on the money grabbing from iracing, far from perfect, but the closest we have to a real car. As for being suspicious, yes, I wont deny that. I have had bad dealings with companies before, I don't trust them, troubled, no, I just look at things realistically

And who are you? I can tell you, the clans I run in (Kiwi/American) love V8s, and have said for the last 3 years we wont be switching to rfactor 2. Only avenue that want to look at is automobilista or iracing if it gets the right support. Would like to know too how you think you know me and why computers have come into the spotlight, I have a PC more then capable of running it, but I don't like the feel of the game, comparing it to a real race car is like chalk and cheese, limited to no similarities in the feel of handling

You know exactly who I am...
And it is OK to not like the game(play on words there:thumbsup:), the issue here is that you try to blame this issue on some conspiracy. You didn't realise ISI and S397 are separate companies, and once given official word you still try to act as if they are dodgy and owe you something.
As for your PC, if it is still the laptop you bought then no it is not adequate, especially with the move to DX11, rain and post processing effects added.
And seeing as the clans you run in love V8's, are they running ours? Just interested...

I actually don't know you. As for ISI, I am not saying they owe ME anything, just seemed odd at the time when Matchmaker went down. As for V8 mods, I don't know what one you have made, but we run ORSM at the current moment and were running RSM for a bit as well as giving FVR a try. Currently we are on a break period before deciding what we do next. My computer isn't a laptop either

So where did you end up???

If you are referring to clans, I run Jethro's who does a lot of drag car racing, ran JFF when they did V8s and currently just race with a group of friends I met in a Kiwi group and from school, which we don't actually have a clan, just a facebook group chat. Also ran NZSW and NSR when they were running the rfactor series.
