Peter Boese updated Sol with a new update entry:

updated Sol 2 controller

Hello,

With the new Content Manager (0.8.25) and CSP preview (0.1.80p218) the selection of the now called weather style is changed:
View attachment 662490

You don't need to select a weather controller in weatherFX settings. You select the weather in the Drive menu, via the new Sol 2.5 submenu:
View attachment 662491

You can noe have more options in that menu, like special random categories and a preselection of wetness and puddles states. More things will come in...

Is this version optimised!...I can't use SOL as it has a terrible FPS and I lose 30 FPS as soon as I install SOL. I have a desent PC with 32 mg of system ram. Is this version kind on the cpu.

Im using it right now and i dont see much difference. Im on triple screen as well with most on max settings in SOL. I turned on tire smoke as well with lingering smoke (up to several minutes on track). I only see a tiny FPS drop if i go into photomode with tons of smoke on track and zoom in close to the smoke.

SOL also has TONS of settings that are easy to tweak from the Content Manager. Lower for example the shadow resolution, reflection resolution (also set to TWO FACES PER FRAME" on Rendering Frequency for reflections etc. There are so many settings that you dont really see the difference with your eyes but that makes a ton of difference with FPS.

Download it and please check the PDF for settings and read carefully about all the settings. In Content Manager both set AC VIDEO settings and SOL Custom Shaders settings. Im sure you can get it working nicely. :)

Are there any sound tweaks in SOL? I am going through it all but im not sure if there has been any types of audio tweaks for the cars etc? Because i was wondering if its possible to add (maybe not in SOL but a general question) shift sounds? I think they are there in AC but they are super low volume. I think you hear them when you turn the engine off lol. I love to hear them when actually driving to give that extra feedback. I guess sound mods is a better place to ask. :) Just wondered if SOL had any audio tweaks so i thought i'd ask.

Again, thanks for SOL. What an incredible piece of work. Kunos said it couldnt be done (lights and all that).

Hello,

Sol is all about weather and graphics. So yes there are sounds coming with Sol, like thunder, rain and wind. But there needs to be a border to other content. Cars are an own department.

If you'd like to add some pre-baked sounds yourself, you could use simhub to do this. https://www.simhubdash.com/community-2/simhub-support/how-to-use-sounds/
If you're interested in that and have questions I'd suggest making a new thread here or asking on the simhub discord so we don't derail this topic further.

Im new to assetto corsa and Im a bit confuse, i have pure installed, I need to install sol also? vwhat are the differences bettwen sol and pure? and which is better?
Pure is newer, Sol was the first weatherFX script. Pure is much more advanced.

I updated Sol because there are continuous changes in CSP and CM.
I update Pure as well today. So both are using the same controller. Pure has no own controller for now, therefore it uses the controller of its predecessor Sol.
